Finally 1/14 next gen. I'm excited for your build.
8 is the points of wheel to ground. 4 is points of actual powered drive, /4 is the points of steerable wheels hope that helps.
Here's your new army truck Bob💪
Regards from the Netherlands
Yes Tamiya listen to Bob... please build another American truck, preferably a 1977 Mack R series.
Howdy?. interesting unboxing!I'll be back, Hobbyconcepts-llc!
Tamiya needs to make a new American rig
An old Mack V8
It might be more tricky and/or expencive with licensing concerning US rig vs European. The Freighliner Cascadia, and the Ford(?), are the only 'real' US truck model they got, while the others are fantacy models. All the europeans trucks are 'real', licensed models. I would not mind seeing some real Peterbilt and Kenworth models
Super cool 😎 should do it someday ..
Hiya Bob. Just to say great talks and videos you do
I'm working on a Scania 6x4 as a retired HGV 1driver across the pond.
Looks like the trailer hitch replacing the one on the Tamiya pole trailer
8 = 8 wheels, as duals aren't counted as seperate wheels, the first 4 = number of driven wheels, the /4 = number of wheels for steering. but the /4 usually isn't mentioned on a normal truck, due to the fact that it is standard to have 2 wheels that steer, but the / means an option for that many wheels with the axle dropped.
otherwise it would be written as 8 wheels x 4 driven wheels x 4 steering wheels if the lift axle wasn't included in the truck design.
Mine arrived yesterday, I cant wait to start building it 👍
I have the kit and i have build it so far as it can without glueing
8x4/4 means 8 wheels and 4 are drivewheels and 4 are steering even if the lift axle is up it still steer along with the steering front axle
Beautiful truck but no Mack and I still use slide trim for all my Tamiya trucks.
Can't wait for you to build this beauty.
I just bought one and put it on the channel. This is my first venture in to Tamiya 1:14 scale trucks, REALLY looking forward to building it. I shall definitely watch your build videos
Simply stunning!!! So excited to watch your build.
Looks like a good truck one to think about getting looks the market is flood with them could bring the price of second hand trucks down lovely video why having breakfast keep up the good work
Would you be able to show lighting up the dash I know you've done other vid in it but I'm just about to start my Scania 770s build and would like to light up my dash
dont know if they have car hauler semi & trailer like to see and build
I'm going to have to save up. Looks like a really decent truck to put a driven front axle in!
looks veru cool rig.i would love to see a kenworth from the company.i am a KW lover foryears.i drove a KW for many yeasr when i was driving a semi
Can use the pintle hook for the pole trailer. Can't wait to see the build!
If possible include in your built the painting of the driver figure.
The trailercouple (part XX13) is a replacement for the pole trailer so it can be towed by the Scania and the other trailercouple (part XX5) is a replacement for the towbar or drawbar
Excellent video, just started building mine which arrived a couple of days ago. I am keen to see how you modify the lift axle with a servo. 👍
Looks like a fantastic kit! Can’t wait to watch you build it!
I can't wait to build it myself!!
Nice truck
Wow I want that truck , what a beast. 👍
Hi Bob, i got to tell you, your an awesome builder and also congratulations on your RUclips announcement. There is no surprises there at home many viewers and subscribers you have. Your builds and videos are always eye catching, instructional and simply a joy to watch. Rather see a 40 minute of one of your build then mainstream TV:). Anyway enjoy your latest video on 770 and how you managed the axle lift...Awesome. There will most likely be an order placed this year for sure...thank you again for all the fun you bring to this hobby.
Been eagerly awaiting this video!🎉 Thanks, Bob!
So the 8x4/4 is an 8 wheeled with 4 drives and 4 stears.
Thanks for showing Bob. This is one of my favorite new model this year. But wasn't it announced as 8x6? (BTW 8 wheels 4 driven / 4 steered - for normal thesteered aren't mentioned). Maybe it was too expensive to put a third driven axle into the kit🤔.
Looking forward for your build
The front Axels are also both steering axles.
Nice Truck 👍
Any chance the merc 1850l in the background is for sale ?
Nope :-)
Supersweet kit, really tempted to get one.
So was I until I saw the price.
The cheapest I could find in Britain was over a thousand pounds.
No thanks.
Holy moly, thats way too much. Here it's arround 700 euro, wich is still a bit pricy for what you get.
I could get one and spread the cost. But then you need the radio gear, servo for the uplift. Nah tamiya are having a laugh. I’ll get the older model Scania I think.
Imagine getting this kit and fin up the paint job. 1000 down the toilet
@@tylerblues2246 it adds up pretty quick with radio, lights, sound, esc, a better motor, 3 servos, ballbearings, paint and so on.
👋 Bob, greetings from Germany 🇩🇪, I had the same Idea and build this amazing 🤩 Scania Truck next time . I really like this one, it’s my first and only Scania. I would look for some extra pieces for the light and soundsystem, aluminum rims for the wheels, other rear axels the are blocked for more grip when sliding and the other motor. It’s very interesting and I really watch your videos for tips to build beautiful trucks 🛻👍💪 I‘m curious how you do that with the lift axle and servo
THat is the number one question on everyone's mind. Can a Servo do the lift axle? Stay tuned!!.....
This is gonna be an amazing build. The truck is a looker. Agree with you, Tamiya make another american truck. Mack truck would be cool.
Nice
How well do these Tamiya semis do off road? Not crawling but say, grass or semi-smooth trails?
Off road capabilities are close to zero, out of the box. The 'big thing' with the Tamiya semis are their well designed cabs, while the drivetrain, suspension and tires are pretty basic, prepared to drive on a smooth surface like the living room floor. But not getting over the doorstep to the kitchen) that said, there are many suppliers of upgrade parts for the Tamiya trucks to make them able getting off the living room floor, like softer tires, locking axles, better suspension. $$$ ;)
Check out the Tamiya trucks in this video. Basically most are pretty stock but with the rear ends locked up. You can lock them easily by putting silly putty of hot glue in the rear diff's. ruclips.net/video/30O-J2Yo6-o/видео.html
WOW 😊😊😊😊😊
Send this model to mack kenworth so they can see how u build and design real good trucks. Trucks u make toddy was good in 1980s
Tamiya 1/14 Mack M45SX?
In the UK this truck cost £900.
It is surpricingly costly compared to the standard 3 axle 770s. The 4'th axle and the tower behind the cabs comes at a steep price. The 3 ale versin will look good with all sort of trailers, while this speiality heavy hauler 'needs' a long low bed to match
The cheapest I could find was over a grand. No way is it worth that amount.
It does look like a nice kit though.
👍👍
How new is this kit
Was released in the U.S. on April 24th
Is the csb sprung?
Maybe someone could help me out and tell me what receiver/transmitter I need for this and whatever else I may need that's not included. I've done like 50 different Google searches and am really struggling to figure it out.
You need a radio like the Flysky FS-i6, a speed control and 2 servos. Sources depend on what country you are in.
@HobbyconceptsLLC Your amazing! Thanks for that info! I'm located in the U.S., gonna go look for those parts on your website right now.
If you are in the U.S. get this: hobbyconcepts.net/products/new-truck-completer-package-10-channel-standard?_pos=3&_sid=f65ba2397&_ss=r
@HobbyconceptsLLC do I need to get a motor/transmission?
A pretty embarrassing release from Tamiya. There's way better options on the market from other manufacturers with better features, performance and looks. Not even a servo for the lifting axle? Come on. Even Hercules Hobby does locking differentials in the plastic kits.
..and WAY more expencive...
@@Rimrock300 Tamiya is just as expensive once you add the cost of the mfc, servos and actuators
@@froop4852 No big deal about price levels, but In europe one get the 770s 8x4 + MFC + a handfull of servoes at about 1100 usd, no VAT included. A similar Lesu heavy hauler is twice that. The Lesu can really haul stuff, while the Tamiya hardly crawls over the kitchen doorstep in it's original configuration. The Lesu much better, and well worht the money compared to the Tamuya and it's overpriced MFC's
I can’t believe the price of this man and you have to pump more money in for the thing to run. It’s too expensive over a grand in Britain. Joke.
I love the detail that tamiya do but they over charge the crap out of their kits.
Even the cars, man they come with plastic ball bearings that are unfit for purpose.
I remember in the 90s the boxes for the cars were amazing now they’re just stuck on pictures with everything loose in the box.
and they still use the useless no torque garbage gearbox😪
It costs £900 in the UK. 👎🏻😡😊
Well you gotta pay to play....
American trucks are boring thats why tamya dont produce them.
