I haven't listed to her much, but my first time hearing this song I got those feelings completely. Especially as I'm at a place in my life where I'm still considered young barely, but have found this healthy balance and its scary after surviving so much turmoil.

She single-handedly brought my music appreciation back again because I was stuck needing somebody new to emotionally connect to the way I had it with old music. Her and Billie Eillish have been the best thing and the most surprising part of finally finding music in the younger generation that I connect to Deeply. And the fact that when I was 15 years old Nine Inch Nails was the best thing in the world and now see the two of them working together was the biggest and happiest surprise she’s given me yet. I believe music has the power to pull people together away no other force can do and heal people. And I would really die to skip ahead 10 years and to see the body of work that her and Billie Eilish put out I’m so excited to get to that point I don’t even face the fact that I would be 10 years older. I just want more of this kind of emotional connectivity to music with every part of my being. And I’m just now connecting to Britney Spears on a level of very similar issues. These women have empowering strength that I hope women for generations to come connect to guide through whatever they may suffer and find some sort of emotional connectivity and empowerment out of these women. Because they have a strength and ability to heal young women instead of breaking them down teaching them to hate themselves or their bodies. The raw emotion that they offer us is rare today to find in the superficial society we live in. And I hope to find a couple more women down the line to do the same thing.
I am just truly blessed to be able to hear my favorite music in the pretty hate machine. I never imagined that I would have been extremely lucky to be excited for a music like this pairing like this. I have had a absolutely no doubt that they would have anything but successful. I have a lot of same thoughts as you have. I’m not a massive Halsey fan (but this album is different because I lovvvveeeeee anything Trent and Atticus touch) but I applaud her, as a human being. Holy crap! Seeing Halsey live just became a life goal.
Can we give some credit to Trent Reznor for his infectious beat? If you want to hear her inspiration? Check out "The Downward Spiral" by Trent's band Nine Inch Nails. Released in 1994 and still sounds more relevant than most of today's music. Good for her taking a chance with the industrial rock sound.
100% when I heard this for the first time on the radio I was like I know this beat and synth. If they want to revive early 90s industrial lets do it.

It's the dark danceable groove that no offense to Atticus is Trent's sound combined with her voice which makes it maybe the greatest pop song in quite some time. If you're a early fan of Nine Inch Nails? It's the collaboration with Tori Amos that you were hoping for that never happened.

I’m not a massive Halsey fan (but this album is different because I lovvvveeeeee anything Trent and Atticus touch) but I applaud her, as a human being. I suffer with endometriosis also and SHE’S JUST HAD HER CHILD and here she in on stage after putting out brand new, amazing, innovative, raw music and she’s on stage giving it fucking all she’s got!
