The BMW engine is the motor block of a BMW motorcycle..its missing both cillinders..wich are pointing out horizontally on both sides..
Yip looks like a R80G/S
Probably chucked that part into the cannel because it has the engine number on it.

The BMW engine is from a motorbike, the girls were right. Its missing the cylinders, you effectively have the block that the crankshaft would be in, and looks like the flywheel is in place. Unsure the CC rating on it but definitely BMW Boxer M/bike engine.

Yep that is a BMW motorcycle engine minus the cylinders and heads.
Its a BMW motorbike engine from an R75 with the cylinder heads removed, from the 70s. It is actually worth something, to right person ! The pistons are still in it , left and right !

Hi Leigh, don't know if you will get to Wales but we have lots of rivers, the three main rivers in Brecon are the Usk and its tributaries theTarell and Honddu the local Canal is the Brecon to Monmouth. Don't know if anyone as ever magnet fished it, I know some people metal detect in the area but haven't heard of anyone magnet fishing. Brecon has a very rich history, including Roman and Norman could be some interesting finds
I used to live in the house overlooking the canal by the bridge at the start! 😊

With harddrives, phones and old tv's, you are actually fishing up quite a good amount of gold wich can be retrieved.
19:55 is a transformer. Copper windings in the middle, but the square bit around the outside is stacked steel plates, which is why it stuck so well to the magnet.

The thing at 2:20 is called a 'flock off'. They are fitted to surfaces where people don't want pigeon to land.

The odd thing about the UK is that doing this type of fishing probably officially needs some kind of permit which you probably should pay the council or the water ways money to do.
They don't clean the canals but don't want anyone else doing it either.

I lost my 300kg-magnet yesterday because the wall that was going down into the water turned out to be metal. The top of the wall was concrete, and the bottom of the wall that was underwater was metal. Guess I won't be finding any bicicles any time soon!
@@oceanslevel5081 we didn't have one, and even if we did use one, the magnet would shoot into the sky and possibly hit a car or someone passing by. So I had to cut the rope.

Best guess on that computer was early Late 90's to early 2000's It had the lower density 40pin IDE cables, so... could be early pentium, or amd's - didn't get a good look at it on film to make a better guess at it.

2m20s the metal spikes with the plastic tab are anti bird spikes used to stop birds nesting under bridges etc

I believe that BMW engine you found is from an R65 BMW motorcycle. It's had the cylinders removed. At 11:11 you can see the piston poking out from the side.

That is a BMW motorbike. It is a twin cilinder boxer engine, probably a R100 or R80, but it is missing the cilinders. You see a piston.

I have seen this canal with other magnet fishers. They also put out a lot of stuff.
