  • LUSH are known for their amazing bath bombs and fantastic skincare, but they're also super ethical. They're against animal testing and try and recycle packaging as much as possible. So, what’s next on LUSH’s agenda to help save the planet? Package-free products. After adopting a minimal approach to packaging over the years, they’ve made 80% of their Christmas range completely Naked - no plastic, no pots, just fantastic ingredients.
LUSH figured that since soap, bath bombs and massage bars don’t need a plastic container, then their shower gels, body conditioners and lip scrubs shouldn’t need them either, and slightly tweaked their traditional formulas to turns all those liquids into solids. By replacing the water element with solid ingredients like cocoa butter, products last a whole lot longer thanks to the limited bacteria growth.
This all sounds great on paper, but have LUSH ever put this action plan to work? Going package-free isn’t a totally new concept to them, they’ve just expanded it; their shampoo bars are the OGs of package-free. In fact, in just one year, the global sales of said shampoo bars meant that 15.89 million plastic shampoo bottles were never created.
LUSH are getting rid of the bottle and introducing plastic-free shower gels - here's everything you need to know...

I like lush dirty springwash to use on hair and body. Can the naked versions be used on your hair?

if this brand went "fully naked" i would stop using it entirely. i used to love their bath products but they've done away with every single one that i liked and the new ones i find very unappealing/nondescript. exactly the same deal with their soaps. shower gels and conditioners and creams are now the only thing i purchase from them. this particular brand going fully naked would likely do nothing for the environment; coca cola sell about 693 billion bottles of their products annually, so 5 million isn't very groundbreaking. please leave us the bottled products.

OH NO - another 'solution' looking for a problem! The very awkward shape makes it a safety hazard. Scenario: you take your glasses off in the shower, you then attempt to create a lather - not easy if you have small hands... then you drop this slippery bottle shaped soap on the shower floor and accidentally slip on it, falling over and breaking your neck... nice one! For those who care about the environment, buy a small bar of normal soap in a compostable wrapper. Simples!

Global Trading you can cut it into smaller pieces.

@@NiklasForsman1 I was just thinking the same thing. Doing that makes it easier to lather and stops you using too much or dropping it. Simple solution!

I think you're being a tad bit over dramatic. Okay... you're being incredibly over dramatic. The premise that these Naked Shower Gels are a safety hazard is absurd, they're literally just soap. All soap is slippery... -_- Let people enjoy things.
