It's weird how we see the artists, week after week, but never the behind-the-scenes people of Mahogany who make this happen... So, dear Mahogany, I think I speak from all of us, when I say, thank you!
The Mahogany Sessions I totally agree! Any kind of behind the scene videos, showing and mentioning mics and stuff you guys use! That would be literally as awesome as your actual sessions! (_italics_And you know how awesome they are!_italics_)
I say don't pull back the curtain of Oz. I love the Mahogany Sessions....can't thank them enough but I'll do my part to comment on their work, subscribe, and of course thumbs up all the great artists they lovingly help promote. But I honestly don't want to watch them wrangle, mic test, lighting etc etc etc. Not that I don't appreciate it, just takes away from the flow of the music and intimate video of the artist IMO.
Started listening to this my first year of uni and now I’m back but as an admitted attorney and director of my own law firm. Funny how much my life has changed but the feelings that this music exudes out of me are still the same!
im in the hospital right now from a really serious fall of a cliff/waterfall. and to wake up and see this, one of my favourite artists on my favourite sessions channel put a realy smile on my face :)
I've been a fan of George's music since his acoustic sets started surfacing on youtube. It's so beautiful like this; raw and soulful. His studio recorded tracks do the songs no justice, and and are not nearly as powerful as when it is just his voice and a guitar.
This is beautiful, sure, but it's frankly dishonest to say that the studio tracks do him no justice. The studio version of Budapest is great, possibly one of the best tracks of the last year. It's less that this is better than the studio version than that this confirms his raw talent whereas studios productions can often turn even the untalented into stars. But it's still absurd to say that a single man with a guitar and a voice can beat that same man, with that same guitar, plus a bass line, extra strings, some percussion, and some post-production tuning.
My own subjective opinion isn't dishonest NobleHam I appreciate you saying that you believe the studio recorded version to be far better but I disagree with you. What I'm saying isn't absurd. In my opinion, the studio version is watered down and overproduced. This single man with just a guitar and voice does beat having a whole backing. When it comes to music, sometimes less is more.
I've heard the studio version probably hundreds of times by now... but I'll be damned if I didn't get goosebumps when he started the first chorus. This is amazing.
You can tell this lad loves the blues and the influence of it in his music, sounds like an old soul!!! Love watching artists do their thing on mahogany, it shows their raw talent and skill....thank you tons !!!!...just subscribed! X

Beyond blessed to have gotten to see him and Hozier live. They are both amazing artist and flawless. Thank you Mahogany Sessions for finding wonderful artist, you have never failed me, ever!!! ☺
This song is incredible! It is substantial, it is real. How can you compete with that?It is wailing, it is whispering...! If you can hear it on the most of extremes, how not in between?
Can you give us a sneak peak on how you record these sessions? perhaps a behind the scenes sort of thing! I have been so inspired by your videos and as an artist myself I'd love to learn more from you guys :)

The only thing I suggest for videos, not even necessarily this one but ones from the past is working on getting slightly better sound equipment! But LOVE George Ezra, great song! :)
I loove mahogany sessions so much i've been subscribed for like a year and a half and it is still awesome and a see so much good artists here, but i have one question. I've been living in Budapest my entjre life, and what does this song has to do to Budapest? Much love from Hungary
Basically he tells us/and the girl he loves, how much he is willing to sacrifice for her (love), even his precious earthly possessions like his house in Budapest. Budapest might be considered in other parts of the world, or at least in his imagination/views as an exotic place, a treasure box. I appreciate this line of thought and am even proud of him mentioning my/our capital out of the many other European cities.
Well although this is subjective, Hozier went to school for music and worked on his debut for 10 years while Ezra taught himself in half that amount of time. Both make for impressive artists.
If you enjoyed this session, please hit the Like or Subscribe button 👍 It helps us a lot 😊 Thanks! 🖤

Such a rich lower voice, thank you allot Mahogany Sessions! You never fail my expectations.
Man I love him. His voice just makes me so happy.
i need this man in my life pls
I have a crush on this man
Goosebumps. EVERY. Single. Time. 🙏🏽
I am still amazed by his voice, it doesn't get old.
It's already old! It sounds like smooth dark chocolate, tobacco, Old Spice and shoe polish..
The camera man got distracted by the hot air balloons for 75% of this video
This song is incredible! It is substantial, it is real. How can you compete with that?It is wailing, it is whispering...! If you can hear it on the most of extremes, how not in between?
These live sessions are soo refreshing. They add such a fresh twist to the songs :) Thanks!
Love this early version ❤️❤️❤️
HIs voice! His hair! HIs voice and his hair!! lol great song

What an ANGEL!
i love the deepness in his voice!
I love his voice so freakin' much.
Never gets old
Another artist who sounds the same without additives and studios. Also another artist who does not look like his voice and it is amazing. LOVE.
I can't wait to see him live as the opening act for Sam Smith... George's voice is beautiful. It reminds me of oldies music for some reason :D
OH mahogany, you make my day so much better!
A channel that reflects the true beauty of every single artistic venture it touches. Thank you for the incredible content!

I've been hearing this on the radio a lot lately
In Bristol as well :) perfecto.

Didn't realize I first heard this song on Mahogany sessions!
So happy for this video, beautiful! (from Budapest)
A surprising voice! Lovely as well, he is great!
Thank you for the discovery :)
enjoy with his song much
i love when i realize his voice sounds more alive in this video than in the original ver (i don't know what it's called tbh)
You'll never listen to this song the same way again once you sing along with:
BOOOOOOOOOOK I AM A CHOOK.
what an amazing, sultry, manly voice. is this on the 'bass' register or higher?
It's probably baritone? It's not that low actually, it's more the tone of his voice I think. Sounds good though for sure.
ah Michael Ruggles, thanks for the clarification! Sure sounds good, it sounds lower than it is then! :)
this needs more views
looking forward to the openair st.gallen!!!!!
really well done ! such a beauty chill song :)
Awesome as always Mahogannyy! *Replays for the 23th time* :)
