tbh from the start of their harajuku era japanese stylist always had a good sense in fashion, even from 1st generations kpop use them as reference for their style, they had unique style and kinda eccentric and really pop out from normal fashion but it doesnt feel messy, they really use the "go big or go home" idiom really well for their fashion

When an idol gains a little weight, they are automatically cast aside as this or that or called hurtful names, even if they were deemed 'visuals' before, whatever that means! That's why I said that they all look good and healthy and not trying to fit what your people define as being a visual (starving themselves to look slim, wearing extremely tight clothes, doing expensive surgeries, etc).
