I love this track RC an Stefan are fighting out on it has those tricky technical hill sections that i famously remember watch hikka mickkola race years ago...
Yea, my memories are famous in my mind to. I love the mind. :) Here is one, (not on YT), for the first pro national I went to in 85. I think there were 3 classes, 125, 250 and open, and the talent was spread a bit thin, (I think they made the 125 a "support class" soon after.). Broc Glover easily won the championship as Eric Eaton in 2nd was not much of a challenge for Broc on that YZ490. I know that from Red Bud. Broc was leading by a bunch in the early laps, but overshot a pretty big uphill double with his front end too high for the landing. He landed, but could not make the left hand corner. He cartwheeled through the outside of the corner, cartwheeled through a barbed wire fence, (85), cartwheeled between motor homes and out of my sight. Eric Eaton goes by for the lead. Next thing I see are some fans holding down the barbed wire as close to the ground as they can, and Broc riding back into my view from between the motor homes, over the wire, back on the track,--and win the moto. I am not a big fan of the racing today. It is races like Broc's that stick our memories, or come from last to win. it is more like a fast parade today, with 8 guys on the same second. That tells me that the tracks really don't do a good job of separating the talent,--and i want to see a Hero. Granted, Eli displayed some here stuff in 2022 on the new bike. But I call 2022 Eli's "Break out retirement year.". :)
No matter what happens in MXdN history from here on, there will never be a more epic race than 1986. THE best day in American motocross that will ever be !!!
As great as that was, perfect score and all, it was expected we would win, and those were our best guys that year. So I am going to give the greatest MXofN win to an individual who was not suppose to make waves, but won all 4 moto's (250 and 500 back then. two different weeks. 2 different tracks with 4 riders on a team) with ease,--to Danny Magoo Chandler in 1982 (our second win, with a B team). This sport is about the individual still I think. And that man was the best individual to ever race for team USA IMO,---because nobody even knew who he was in Europe. Magoo displayed the epitome of the great USA individual spirit that day, and he would not be denied. Heck I think it is the only time he did 4 pro motos in a row with out crashing out. Magoo put in the best MXofN performance ever---as an unknown. That is a great USA story of individualism, so he alone sits on top IMO.
I think it's kind of equal. Not weird since US has 230 million people and fuel sports are more common. I still watch AMA SX and MX beside MXGP if possible. (The Hunter brothers, Roczen, Ferrandis and Shimoda are not from US, just to remember.)
I missed 1986 MXoN Maggiora Italy (David Bailey 500cc, Johnny O'mara 125cc & Rick Johnson 250cc) all three won their both motos. But J O'show riding a 125cc beat David Thorpe (500cc). Awesome!
50:25 Not only is RC's bike shortened (so is mine at 5'9), but his rear fender is bent down so he can get on the bike easier. Love my lower bike. I don't have to find a berm if I don't want to. :)
that's the one thing i wish i had done when i was racing motocross competitively. i'm 5'6 and i raced the 125 B class as well as the 250 A class and man i had to have blocks at the starting gate just so i could start properly. it didn't stop me as i've won over a hundred races and multiple championships but it was definitely a pain in the ass lol.
@@JBurrell114 I have a new Beta 300 and I lowered the forks in the triple clamp and my son bought me a lowering link for the rear suspension. I’ve also cut down the seat foam in past bikes also Ive heard on some bikes you can cut a portion out of and reweld the sub frame.
@@powerwagon3731 I don't think the lowering link is a good idea. I had a PC link on mine that only lowers it about 3mm at the seat and put the stock one back on. That is why the PC link is sold to change the rising rate curve, and not really lower the bike.

C'mon! Budds Creek 2007 MXDN must be mentioned when listing best MX races. Villopoto in team USA made something that may never be done again. Kid lined at the gate wiht the best of the best. Holeshotted, lead every damn lap and won both motos on 250F against best guys on 450F's....XD Ryan was awesome rider but shows also how far ahead Kawasaki was tehcnically.
Are you talking close races, USA domination or drama races ? Don't see the 1991 MXON here. Jeff Stanton (Honda 500) had to win his class in the last moto in a tough sand track in Valdensword , Holland. His teammates (M. Kiedrowski 125 Kawi and D. Bradshaw 250 Yahama) were a little off that day, the Kawi 125 ran poorly in first moto and Bradshaw looked tired in 2nd moto. In last moto, pressure was on Stanton (the USA was behind Belgium), who fell in the first lap and then charged thru the pack (like Tomac does now) at warp speed, he fell a couple more times due to lappers, but wasn't going to be denied. The Euros were yelling for their top 500 riders to hold him off, but he got to the front of the 500 class with a couple laps remaining. The Euro crowd was very disappointed. Stanton, IMO, won the event for the USA. He went 1-1, Bradshaw 2-5 and Kiedrowski 4-2. Jeff Stanton was a man of few words and no emotion.
1986 was the best year ever ! The American contingent, comprised of Honda teammates David Bailey, Rick Johnson, and Johnny O'Mara were untouchable! Period….NP
Great one. But not, get this. Now get this one. 1986 was when the FIM had the production rule implemented for the USA only, because we beat then 5 times in a row to that point. So our boys had that great performance on production based bikes, and we still won with production based bikes for the next 8 years. Finally, the FIM took over our racing, made the track redundant in SX, fun looking vet tracks for the scoop tire nationals, and if we win 2022, (next week?), I will be surprised. But then again, the FIM only has 15 guys on a 40 rider MXGP gate, so the worst we can do is 6th. I am so glad the FIM runs the racing. With out them, the sport would not be as strong as it is today. Right? Jeeeech.
Actually, Hughes had a very tough time on the 500 that day. He was qualifying like 7 seconds back, and DeCoster told him, "Maybe we picked the wrong guy.". Now, that would have destroyed a baby like Pingree, but Hughes maned up, and knocked those seconds off before the mains. Great to see. :)
I wonder how RC's MXDN record holds up, at least win percentage? The stat I got when I gurgled it was 4 times individual MXDN champion. Wiki shows only 3 MXDN visits (and champ every time). I just watched both the 2000 and the 2003 MXDNs. RC was pretty darn dominant. The guy beat down pretty much everyone he raced, regardless of where.
My Mother is Canadian. I am sorry. I just don't understand glorying a Queen (or any dictatorship), that keeps people just above poverty if they are lucky. Trudeau, (sp, who cares), is a very very evil man, (like all the commie globalists who run the world today.), against the nature of man to think and achieve. We all know---with individual liberty, (freedom from rulers), and free enterprise in our hands, (as free enterprise was started by free people in the USA a long time ago), we would be doing a lot better than the poverty our rulers promise us. True or False?
From the mid 90's until now you can see how much the jumps have been tamed down. 27:05 Look how high Villopoto gets on this jump. Now go watch this year's race at Budds Creek. The riders barely leave the ground. I know somebody is going to bring up scrubbing here but that doesn't explain why the actual jump faces are getting shorter and flatter. The finish line jump at Spring Creek is one of a very few exceptions to this. What gives??
I almost forgot Stefan Everts on the future RC on the 2 stroke...u can see RC has the edge in the turns but the 4 stroke wins the straightline drag race because it gets better traction...carmicheal keeps looking over an is like i cant put him behind me...i think the following year RC was on a suzuki in the states 4 stroke
RC and James were the last to ride the 2-strokes, and were still winning and getting hole shots. They switched in 2004, and RC was still on the Honda. Here, it is this guys video of 2004. :) ruclips.net/video/G3oPrPtTaVw/видео.html From the first 4-stroke Henry rode (and I will never forgive him), it took 8 years for the starting line to be all 4-strokes, (with a Stienke in there once in a while). Now in Europe MXGP's,, I see only 15 guys on a 40 rider gate. They are very much related, the 4-strokes and less racers.
What you would end up with is 5 fast guys, and a bunch of slow guys who took a lot of faster guys spots, (the 6th fastest guy in the USA could beat 30 nations, but is out of work now). You wanna move to Turkey to race on their team? Because you will be finding another way to make a living, even if you can beat 30 of the guys racing the "pros". It is also a very expensive race to campaign, once a year. I understand the excitement from the fans point of view, but we have to remember,---it is not all about the fans, (only for bike sales). We can easily destroy everything we built with poor policy, (and the FIM is actually doing today, with poor policy.), because we don't think of "what it takes to make things", but tending to think of how those producers owe something to us, like our entertainment. They don't. We have to stop thinking that "business is for the community as a service to mankind." It is not. It is people advancing mankind freely in free enterprise. Nothing else allows a civilization to be civil and prosperous. They don't owe you anything, but if you are free enough, you can compete.
Remember back about a decade when the MXofN was going to be on some Indian reservation in the USA, (built a new track I think. Never a race there before.)? I remember reading the the FIM was charging the host (track owner), $600,000 to host that event during that episode. They must be charging Red Bud in 2022 a million or more,---because camping for a night is about $500.00, and of course, all the local lodging joined the fun. Been there many times, but it looks like I am about done with the sport. I will just trail ride, (2-stroke), and build 2-strokes engines for a living until the government makes them illegal, (makes my life illegal. Same thing.)
@@powerwagon3731 I make it a point to not buy what ever government forces us to buy, (no mater what the cost). It is our free enterprise system that free people created, and government should stay out of our business. It leads to communism. I never bought a 4-stroke that the EPA forced us to make and buy. Finally though, the Ken Roczen announcement that he has left Honda tells a new story. Honda (and I hope all the manufactures), does not want to cooperate with the new FIM world SX series. I hope they all stick up for themselves.
Strange feeling for Roger he works in america team usa boss at honda but i think stefan is a cousin...frim belgium...good race...i feel bad for Jason Anderson he ridesthe best race ever an get hit after the finish....that hurt to watch...look very rude....but was an accident
I really wanted to like this video! I really did. But it's like someone who can't hold a complete thought... why is th.. here is on.. next up i... what to expe... now what yo... and think abo... 🙄
In 2006, there was supposed to be a very cool cut! RC vs Everts! God, how I cursed when I found out that Carmichael was injured (((! I have been waiting for this race since the spring! But it was not destined to happen (! Fuck!
Was at the ones in GB at Matterley and Donington. Also the mudder at Foxhill in 98. That was rubbish. Shame Paul Malin (one of the commentators on this) didn't feature in 94 when he destroyed every capacity of bike helping Great Britain to end 13 years of USA dominance.
Ah Mc Kensie he a rip snorted battle...thats sound like old supercross days larry huffman...Ricky Johnson landed so hard off that jump he jarred his ancesters.....johnson went by ward like a snake oil saleman in the nite....
My question is, how can 34 nations, (3 riders from each = 101 riders), be competing in the 2022 MXofN when there are only 15 riders on a MXGP starting gate? I guess the money Red Bud had to pay the FIM is paying many of their way here, (paid for by the campers), but I suspect there are going to be a lot of slow riders on the track.
This year may be the best Eli and Chase so cool 😎

After 20 years of 4 stroke hassle I’m glad to be back on 2 strokes!

Copyrights.
In 2006, there was supposed to be a very cool cut! RC vs Everts! God, how I cursed when I found out that Carmichael was injured (((! I have been waiting for this race since the spring! But it was not destined to happen (! Fuck!
I figure you should be getting over it in about a week. lol
Hard to watch Anderson getting landed on, such a shame, probably his best race ever.
I wonder how 2010 Kenny on the 250 Suzuki would fare against 2022 Kenny
Villo always won mxon when his there.
J’espère que le «best of » n’est pas un «best of USA »

My question is, how can 34 nations, (3 riders from each = 101 riders), be competing in the 2022 MXofN when there are only 15 riders on a MXGP starting gate? I guess the money Red Bud had to pay the FIM is paying many of their way here, (paid for by the campers), but I suspect there are going to be a lot of slow riders on the track.
I believe all teams that didnt compete at the previous MXON receive numbers that are in the 100s
The British announcers are extremely annoying. Totally over the top.
😂 fucking tame compared to Ralph
