I honestly have to disagree on the side of the Hue system. Yes it is more expensive but it is also supported on the Zigbee system so I don’t have to “sync my lights” with an app by turning on and off my light switch in order to sync and having a flashing light indicator and if I turn it off and on it doesn’t disconnect which is great for families with kids who may play with the lights and so on. And their is a giant span of products for outside and inside as well as the theater system set up and it is the best for all different smart home voice control systems. I would honestly relook at the Hue system and don’t down play it for it’s price. It is expensive especially getting started but in ways of quality, longevity, reliability, and simplicity and a completely cohesive ecosystem I think it’s one of the best out there. Just my opinion. Also with the exception of the Meross system I’ve tried all the others along with the Govee system and the Sengled system and honestly Hue still comes out on top also for coming back on after power outages as well no need to resync and set up your system thanks to Zigbee.
If the light bulb is too large, (3:29), the "harp" (the metal wire the lampshade mounts on) can be removed from most lamps to change the light bulb. Grasp harp near the bottom close to the on/off switch and squeeze as you lift upward to remove the harp from the harp saddle, change the light bulb, then reverse the process to replace the harp in the harp saddle.
Personally I love my Hue lights. I have both Hue lights and Globe smart bulbs and I've had nothing but trouble with the Globe ones - they keep randomly disconnecting and needing to be re-paired. For me having the main Hue hub is fantastic - it's one access point that the bulbs connect to rather than having each individual bulb connected.
Hey annette069, thanks for your comment. The Philips hue hub is good for consistent connection, happy to hear you're having a good experience with them. Thanks for watching! 😊
Another good thing is the zigbee system itself. Unless you use few wifi devices or use mesh wifi extenders, they are recommended to not use too mucb wifi. I was about to use Lifx, but Hue is unrivalled in bulb diversity
@@AdamsTechLife oh, absolutely. As I near my 40’s, though, I have discovered that better value for the money does not always equal better value for my tolerance of issues. I have been wanting to give LIFX a try, though. I will probably pick up 10 or so and populate my office and kids rooms.
Yea i love my hue. I have all the bulbs and play bars hue blooms hue goes the applications are endless i bought the sync box so my lights sync to the television only thought i haven’t bought yet is the gradient lights!
A quick update: Inspired by this video I bought $200 worth of LIFX to stick in my office, today. The colors are great, but that onboarding process hurt my soul a little. Integrates perfectly into my HomeKit setup, though. 👍
This is an extremely well crafted video, especially for an average non-tech individual. Your speech delivery and clear pronunciation makes your content easy to understand even for non native English speakers as myself. Keep Going!
Hue has rock solid reliability. I try others and keep coming back to them. They always work and integrate so well, especially as I use Google Home, Apple Homekit, and a Streamdeck.
what are you talking about? Philips Hue is the best in the market! I've been using it very long time never complained about it, the only con it has is the price, beside that, it's perfect product.
I don't know man. Philips Hue is the only brand I would recommend tbh, and the bridge is probably one of the reasons why. Hue is also reliable and easy to setup and use with a wide range of indoor and outdoor lights to choose from for any use case
The bridge is a great hub. Some bulbs offer more features than others but it comes down to personal choice. I like LIFX b/c of better color accuracy than Philips Hue and haven't had issues. Plus, I personally find the Philips Hue app to be a pain to use compared to LIFX. Thanks for watching! 😊
I went with Philips because I was able to purchase a Starter Kit, which included 3x A19 White & Color Ambience Hue Bulbs + 1x Bridge for $100 + tax at Costco.
My concern with LIFX is that of business viability and whether or not the product line will still be around in a few years. I know the company was recently acquired by a company in California called Feit Electric. But Philips has been around forever, and there's no question that Hue lights will always be around.
Just made the move to hue . Never using lifx again . Nothing but problems. Disconnects and couldn't even get some to be linked out of box. My most frustrating experience with any smart home tech to date. Budget wifi globes worked so much better.
So philips hue is the winner? Close to the best color range, best dimming, solid app. The only downside being the bridge? To me the bridge works extremely well and takes a load off my router. Having individual bulbs connected to your router can actually start to effect its performance and from what I've noticed the bridge allows for much better connectivity and response time when turning the lights on and off.
You know that for your kitchen light you can take that lampshade holder off, put the bulb in, and then put the lampshade holder back on. It will fit. It's just a little bit more work.
Awesome vid man, one thing I would like to notate. This isn't always the case, but usually when a fixture says 60 watts that's for incandescent bulbs, because they get so hot. Led do get hot but no where near those.
Honestly I went with Phillips hue mostly because of their hub it’s great. Instead of having 20 different lights connected to my wifi router which can slow it down and I have to repair them ALL if I make any changes. With hue it’s only one connection and that’s with Ethernet
I own a Yeelight bulb and the HomeKit issue is driving me crazy. I can not set the bulb to the full brightness using Apple Home app and the Yeelight support team says that this is an HomeKit issue and they have nothing to do to fix this. If your intention is to control your bulbs with Siri or Home app, avoid Yeelight.
I don't understand the comment at 3:50 re: the wattage of the LIFX bulb or any given bulb not working in specific fixtures. The wattage rating on an LED bulb just means that it outputs the same amount of light as an incandescent bulb in the same wattage. In reality they draw much less current and produce much less heat and can be used in pretty much any fixture they will fit in.
Had a very very bad experience with Yeelight + HomeKit. I had to reset the bulb every two days or so. Now it has found its new home in a box somewhere.
There is no way an LED light consumes 75W. Read your data carefully - 75 Incandescent watts equates to 1100 lumens. This bulb will work fine anywhere you put it.
Sorry, but not that sure about the Yeelight, just change it for a Hue lamp because every time the WiFi resets (security reasons) the lamp was not responding and had to reset the lamp 2-3 times a week.
My 2 cents: I notice the same different hues with Fiet (non-Homekit) lights having different colors between the app and what google home changes them to. Also different hues using google with the Fiet and VOCOlinc bulbs. The merros bulbs, well once I chose a color in HomeKit it didn't let me get it back to the white full lumen ranges so they were returned for the VOCOlink ones. As for other Meross/Refoss products I like the smart garage opener Homekit and Non-Homekit versions) and duel switches, they work great on HomeKit and Google Home. Sorry, I have alexa but just cant seem to get the automation I want form it so it mostly stays unplugged and I don't test with it.
Hey Gadget Review Videos, thanks for your comment. That’s is very insightful information. I like the meross smart plugs a lot, the bulbs not so much. Thanks for watching! 😊
LIFX makes GU10 bulbs that fit into standard downlight fixtures, so it's possible to use them as down-lights too, so this is not an exclusive feature Philips Hue in practice.
Great video! That is crazy about the strobe one.. nice that you put that feature out there in case someone has problems with strobes. Nice editing I like how you put them side by side!
I’ve bought the Yeelight one without knowing about the non-light boost in the apple home app and I just have to say…it’s a pain in the ass. Ok yeah when you set it up it’s ok, but again it’s not really dimmable. But like, I don’t see any reason not to buy a meros bulb. It’s may not be that great as a Lifx or a Philips one, but if the only ones that you can buy are the Hue, the Yeelight and the Meros (which is my case cause where I live here in Greece they are not distributing the other bulbs), the Meros one is low key the best choice. What do you think?
Based on experience, usability, and reliability I like LIFX the best. I explained more in my budget smart home video and reliable HomeKit devices video. Thanks for watching! 😊
I had HORRIBLE experiences with Lifx. Constantly disconnect from the Wi-Fi and sometimes require a full re-setup which can be a bit cumbersome in the app… not something you want to deal with when you just want to flip a light on after a long night out. One of my bulbs did have a color defect after only a month or two of use where it didn’t produce a few of the colors. I’ve also moved a few times with different routers and network service providers during the time I’ve owned them so I don’t think there is a network issue at play… The only redeeming quality is how much nicer the colors are compared to other bulbs, still not worth it for all the headaches.
OK the Hue Bridge costs $50-60, but if your router can only handle 20 connected devices, do you really want to use up 15 slots with light bulbs? Buying a new router with higher capacity will cost more than a Hue Bridge. Plus the Hue bridge will be "matter" comparable and so is future proof. Don't know about the others.
Hello, David thanks for your comment. I’d personally rather have a more expensive router to handle everything than multiple bridges but to each their own. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hey, nice vid, i've one question, why do you use multiple smart device as google home, alexa and homepod ? is it just for the video or you have a different usage with each one of them ?
Hey Vrenli72, thanks for your comment. I use all 3 in my smart home. I try to just use one but there are features I use that HK or Google doesn’t have that Alexa does and vice versa. Plus, the wife likes Alexa better and I like Siri so we use both 🤣 Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife I changed my wifi router and now it won’t connect the customer service is terrible I’m gonna look for ur video now thanks for the response
Don’t know how many people will see this but another problem with the Meross bulb is that the HomeKit app doesn’t register the different colors by scene. Meaning that if you want one scene with red lights and another blue, it will just get stuck on one of the colors. It’s very weird and annoying.
@@AdamsTechLife is there any ones that can use Alexa or echo mics to dance from those or is tht not possible. I don't mean play music from echo to dance to like phone but use the mic and dance to sound mode
Lifx would be the clear winner if they didn't disconnect all the time. Their led strips are some of the best out there, but they won't stay connected for more than a day or two. I'm going to have to stick with Hue.
I believe that a hub is the Superior way to connect lightbulbs to a network simply because the significant bandwidth savings if you eventually end up with 50+ bulbs, it would be nice for hue to allow there lightbulbs to connect to any ZigBee hub or vise versa let the hue hub have other lightbulbs connected threw the hub
The thing is that the Hue Hub DOES allow (a lot) of other brand Zigbee lights and devices. And if for whatever reason your Hue Hub dies and Phillips stops selling them, you can pair Hue bulbs with a Rasberry PI based Zigbee hub.
@@WtFrostyCakes can you? I was pretty sure for awhile that you just couldn't (might have just been used to big companies locking down thier ecosystems)
But Philip's has a 1600 lumens bulb? So if you don't want the weaker brightness, just buy a stronger brightness bulb... Philips Hue might not be the best and isn't the cheapest but after a good few months of hardwork and saving, I've been able to fill most of my house with lights, and even bought a few extra unnecessary ones, like strip lights and the portable go lamp. I would actually recommend Philip's Hue, and they're slowly making it better and better.
Oh yes! i might make an updated video on this topic but yes. in some of my recent videos i talk about what I’ve personally changed. Thanks for watching! 😊
Yee light cannot be found in stores such as Best buy in home Depot I think Philips hue is one of the better ones it's more reliable Philips hue has no connection issues like Wi-Fi bulbs does
Hey bud great video! One part I noticed when you were talking about the Voco bulb I believe it would've fit in your kitchen lamp if you pulled up the round keepers on each side of the metal bracket then squeezed and removed the bracket, inserted the bulb, then reinstalled the bracket... I get what you were saying though it is bigger than most and may not fit in some fixtures just wanted to give you a heads up in case you really wanted to use it in that lamp. Thank you for for turning me on to some alternatives to my expensive Hue bulbs.
Hello there, nice video! I wanna ask something. Some people are having a lot of issues with Yeelight. Dropping the brightness in White colors changes the colors they say. Do you have issues like this? My Yeelight 1S bulb is arriving this week, I'm curious.
@@AdamsTechLife hey again, so, I got my bulb, and I have the issue of whites not being bright. Try setting a neutral white color with Yeelight app, then go back to HomeKit and set the same color. The brightness decreases a lot! I decided to not use Yeelight on my mains because of that. But otherwise, they are awesome. Colors are very accurate, like Philips Hue. Edit: Uhm, so, after updating my bulb, it got very pastel-y. All the colors are so washed up now. I am taking back my word, colors are trash. Philips Hue has better color accuracy. I think Yeelights should be on the not-buy part.
In the video, I mentioned the white issue between HomeKit, Alexa, and google :) I personally haven’t seen the color issue being worse than Philips but to each their own lol
@@AdamsTechLife LED bulbs are regulated by PWM. request to film in slowmotion and check if harmful flickering will be visible in slow motion. good quality bulbs do not flicker in slowmotion. flickering is very harmful to health.
I don’t have the large a19 bulb but what I’ve heard is that’s it’s much brighter than the mini version. Don’t forget you’ll need a 75w compatible bulb base. Thanks for watching! 😊
Here is why these comments by pundits are damaging. Hue is zigbee wich is a mesh network while those who don't use hubs are wifi. If you live in a densely populated area like in an apartment you will find that 2.4ghz is totally congested a scenario where zigbee wins hands down. Of course zigbee has his drawbacks and now is being replaced by thread which adresses several of its shortcomings adding IPv6 addressability. And that's why the comments here about HUE just works, it's because zigbee and the bridge.
Thanks Adam, appreciate the info and work. I think it comes down to Wifi vs Hub, then whether you go Philips Wiz, Nanoleaf, Meross, etc for wifi or take the financial hit for Hue. I have had both types..I like Hue, but they can be cost prohibitive….I realize this isn’t new but I just picked up a hue four pack at Electronics Express…they are the dimmable white not color.
I don’t really find problems in a manufacturer’s app to be a compelling reason to not buy a bulb if you’re in the HomeKit eco-system. I use HomeKit for a reason, I rarely touch a manufacturer’s app, so as long as the functionality works in HomeKit it’s hard to care at all about what the manufacturer is doing.
Apple/HomeKit is known to not give users the full features that the bulb is capable of so the app will give you those features such as flow mode, candle flicker, etc. and you can create automations with those effects as well. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife that’s true. In the case of Meross are there any features one is missing out on in HomeKit? It’s clear if VOCOlinc’s app had issues you’d miss out on some functionality, but does the Meross app have extra features for their bulb? Also in the future charts would be a nice touch to help summarize all your comparisons.
@@InteriorRecollection that's exactly what I was saying - how can they be AVOID items just because a mfgr's app is less convenient when I'll never use it or see it? It didn't look like you could do anything extra in the Meross app other than see what color temp you're on, but I don't really care about that as much as the ability to quickly and easily get the mode I want set. My terrible FEIT bulbs have some 'party modes' that cycle through colors that are cute and novelty... I NEVER use them, ever, only to show them off. I do however use color temps auto switching throughout the day (I have 5 scheduled triggers) along with a dim warm setting and a red setting for night vision. that's it. you can do all of that via the Home app. The Meross are only $22 right now on amazon for 2pk, going with those.
Nanoleaf was unavailable at the time of recording. I've mentioned this in other videos but I personally can't recommend anything thread yet. Thanks for watching! 😊
Long story short (explained in I think my $100 setup video), unreliable connection and slow response times. Multiple brands, multiple devices slower than non thread
I don’t have any experience or knowledge with anything inside the bulb so I can’t answer that. There may forums online that answer your questions. Thanks for watching! 😊
HUE eco system beats anything on the market, just mention remotes, dimmer, grouping automation, reliability, types of lights. I have been using it for 10+ years withou any issues in combination with HomeKit. App and extentions + spotify support :) is great. Lumens mean nothing if dimming is poor from other brands.
Great video. I’ve had good luck with Sengled. Support is great. Just moved over to a HomeKit hub. I’ve even had two of their bulbs 💡 running outside in coach lights for over a year. No issues.
The range and connectivity for the Meross is pretty bad unfortunately. I'm using the Nanoleaf and it's very responsive and doesn't disconnect at all. Love it!
For the love of good only buy hub based lights and smart things. When the services shut down your lights will still work. If your lights are online service based they vill not
After removing local control from their products, Yeelight is a no go for me. As even IFTTT integration is not supported anymore, having to use a proprietary cloud to operate lights is a deal breaker.
@@AdamsTechLife ... your pinned comment mentions “couldn’t get nano leaf” and to “watch your next video about smart plugs”... either way, good video, just a suggestion moving forward as Thread will be included in more and more items.
This review is very bad, just clickbait and after all you just said Phillips is the best option but at higher price. Also your parameters for saying whats good, bad, worst and better are not that accurate, you should probably work on that instad of aiming for the likes and subs.
LIFx bulbs are draw 14.5 watt at most. So it will work just fine in a socket rated for 60w. LED bulbs draw 90% less power than incandescent bulbs. In😢 the early LED build days the industry thought it clearer to compare the brightness of bulbs to incandescent bulbs. So “this 14.5 watt LED bulb has the brightness of a 100w incandescent bulb”. I wish the industry would stop this nonsense. It’s confusing. Espec8ally since one cannot buy a 100w incondecent light bulb anymore. We’ll soon have a generation who have never seen a 100w incandescent light bulb… So how is comparing the brightness of something else that we can’t see make sense? The correct brightness unit is luminosity. Typical LED household light bulbs of the type in the video draw up to 15w.
I have hue and love it tho, when i bought mine i slept $100 at target for the starter kit 4 bulbs and hub for about $130 and the application for hue is endless especially if you get the hue sync box.
SO, I literally hear nothing why we should not buy Hue. Because of the bridge? You want stuff to work, always?...without hassle? Buy a decent brand...like Philips. you're welcome.
How can any LED Bulb use 75 watts??? Are you sure you are not seeing wording saying it’s equivalent to a 75 watt bulb meaning it’s just brighter? I mean ya, it probably uses more watts... but 75 watts? I have my doubts.
@@AdamsTechLife ... no, it’s the same size base... the only reason certain installations say “60 watt max” is due to heat build up. When an LED light says “equivalent” it is to imply a brighter bulb. LED bulbs use such a low amount of watts they don’t generate any heat.
@@macdaddy9344 Hmm, I hate to disagree since I have LED lights that have burned me removing them from enclosed fixtures like in a ceiling dome. And I have build single LED flashlights that can put off enough heat to cook with. They use less power, but that does not mean they cant generate as much heat as a regular incandescent bulb. In fact I had one above a sing in a teardrop fixture and it burned out, but the LED driver was still running and it almost caught fire. Good thing I smelled something burning. I do thing the manufactures need to disclose both, the wattage equivalent for brightness comparison and what fixture rating for fire hazard safety. Most of the LED bulbs I own have only compared the watts with how bright they are.

LIFX makes GU10 bulbs that fit into standard downlight fixtures, so it's possible to use them as down-lights too, so this is not an exclusive feature Philips Hue in practice.
Hey Glowy, thanks for your comment. The Philips Hue works with an e26 down light base whereas LIFX does not offer this. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video! That is crazy about the strobe one.. nice that you put that feature out there in case someone has problems with strobes. Nice editing I like how you put them side by side!
Hey Sara, glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
Is there really no lights that support 5ghz??? Quite aggravating not being able to use my light because my router doesnt have dual band for a 2.4 ghz
I believe some do. Thanks for watching! 😊
No mention of the Nanoleaf bulb? At this of this writing, the only bulb that supports Thread mesh technology built into Apple's HomePod mini?
Hey Steven, see my pinned comment on this video for why it wasn’t added :) thanks for watching!
How is the Meross smart lighbulb if you are really just looking for soft white dimmable lights?
pretty good :)
Thanks for replying 😊
One more issue with the yee light is if you dim the bulb when it is in warmer colours, it will turn to red
That’s good to know!
That is crazy! Thanks for sharing your experience! I too have switched from lifx to philips hue in 2023
OK the Hue Bridge costs $50-60, but if your router can only handle 20 connected devices, do you really want to use up 15 slots with light bulbs? Buying a new router with higher capacity will cost more than a Hue Bridge.
Plus the Hue bridge will be "matter" comparable and so is future proof. Don't know about the others.
Hello, David thanks for your comment. I’d personally rather have a more expensive router to handle everything than multiple bridges but to each their own. Thanks for watching! 😊
wich one should i buy
The video will answer your question 😊
Can you use one HomeKit device on two different HomeKit accounts
If you’re trying to use the a single HomeKit device in 2 separate rooms, then no
Hey, nice vid, i've one question, why do you use multiple smart device as google home, alexa and homepod ?
is it just for the video or you have a different usage with each one of them ?
Hey Vrenli72, thanks for your comment. I use all 3 in my smart home. I try to just use one but there are features I use that HK or Google doesn’t have that Alexa does and vice versa. Plus, the wife likes Alexa better and I like Siri so we use both 🤣 Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife oh i understand now xD
thanks for the answer
is there any light that goes as dim as the Hue at 1%? that's all I'm looking for, and would really love to avoid the Hue expense
Not that I have really tested. Thanks for watching! 😊
I have a Yeelight and I’m constantly having problems w it
Yeah, I got rid of my Yeelight bulbs. I talked about this in a recent video :)
@@AdamsTechLife I changed my wifi router and now it won’t connect the customer service is terrible I’m gonna look for ur video now thanks for the response
Can you remotely turn these lights on and off ?
Hey Kat, thanks for your comment. Yes, you can control them remotely with respective apps and/or home app with a home hub. Thanks for watching! 😊
Don’t know how many people will see this but another problem with the Meross bulb is that the HomeKit app doesn’t register the different colors by scene. Meaning that if you want one scene with red lights and another blue, it will just get stuck on one of the colors. It’s very weird and annoying.
I’ve seen that too. Thanks for watching! 😊
Is there any light bulbs or lights that dance to music without the phone app and like the music strips with mic
not smart ones I know of. most require a phone so you can enable this feature and tell the mic to start picking up sound, Thanks for watching! 😊
Dang that’s crazy. Haven’t had that myself except with the Yeelights.
There are pros and cons to each option :)
Damn. Didn't think about that
The thing is that the Hue Hub DOES allow (a lot) of other brand Zigbee lights and devices.
@@dratrav I have cheap EcoSmart bulbs and switches, and Gledopto RGB strip controllers paired to my Hue hub.
How would you compare those with Nanoleaf?
Based on personal experience compared to all of these bulbs, it's on the avoid list for me. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife thank you! Mind if I ask, why would you avoid it? Nanoleaf should be brighter and cheaper (afaik), right?
Should be…I’ll be answering this in a future video lol
Meross was a plug and play. I loved their bulbs.
Nice! Thanks for watching! 😊
Awesome!! Thanks for watching! 😊
any changes to your choices in 2023?
Oh yes! i might make an updated video on this topic but yes. in some of my recent videos i talk about what I’ve personally changed. Thanks for watching! 😊
Yee light cannot be found in stores such as Best buy in home Depot I think Philips hue is one of the better ones it's more reliable Philips hue has no connection issues like Wi-Fi bulbs does
Agree, Philips hue is great. My opinion on them has changed over the years.
I don’t know about anywhere else but the uk sells a Bluetooth range of Philips hue bulbs now :)
I’ve heard about those as well. Thanks for watching! 😊
Same in Romania. I think all of them are bt compatible.
Joshua, thanks for your comment. Thanks for letting me know about that, I’ll have to try it. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! 😊
I use different brands. But I am ok with that Philips I found to be less flexible the the cheaper ones.
I use various brands as well and I would agree with you. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hello there, nice video! I wanna ask something. Some people are having a lot of issues with Yeelight. Dropping the brightness in White colors changes the colors they say. Do you have issues like this? My Yeelight 1S bulb is arriving this week, I'm curious.
Hey Burak, thanks for your comment. I personally haven’t experienced that issue. I think you will like Yeelight. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video, short and to the point. Thanks for the tips!
Hello Mark, glad to hear you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
what can you say about flicker? can you make a comparison in slowmotion 240 or 960 fps?
I don’t understand. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife LED bulbs are regulated by PWM. request to film in slowmotion and check if harmful flickering will be visible in slow motion. good quality bulbs do not flicker in slowmotion. flickering is very harmful to health.
Can you compare the Lifx mini to the larger a19 please? I’m wondering how much brighter it is/if it’s worth the extra money.
I don’t have the large a19 bulb but what I’ve heard is that’s it’s much brighter than the mini version. Don’t forget you’ll need a 75w compatible bulb base. Thanks for watching! 😊
I have had nothing but problems with meross bulbs. I’m beyond frustrated with them
I’d recommend LIFX. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video lots of info. I personally prefer TP-LINK have had smart home devices from them for years no problem at all.
Thanks for watching and commenting, glad you found the video helpful! TP-Link has some great devices!
What about TreatLife? Just bought some and am curious what you think.
I haven't heard of Treatlife before so I can't say. They look cool though. Thanks for watching! 😊
LOVE my VOCOlinc lighting. They are my go-to for my holiday lighting good stuff.
VOCOlinc is a really good bulb, I love the candle flicker for parties. Thank you!
My hue lights are a hit and miss when I ask Siri to turn them on or off. I have a love/hate relationship whit it.
I have hue overhead lights and would agree as well. Thanks for watching! 😊
I don’t like that the others can’t dim properly. Even the LIFX is way too bright compared to Hue
Yeah dimming range has been an issue.
Agreed! Hue is the way to go IMO
hey man, got some brilliant smart bulbs (b22 fit) any opinions on these?
I haven't used those before so I can't say. Thanks for watching! 😊
Yep, that’s right! Good setup! Thanks for watching! 😊
What about Thread Nanoleaf! They use the home as a bridge!
Nanoleaf was unavailable at the time of recording. I've mentioned this in other videos but I personally can't recommend anything thread yet. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife Oh why is that?
Long story short (explained in I think my $100 setup video), unreliable connection and slow response times. Multiple brands, multiple devices slower than non thread
You do realize it doesn't actually use 75 watts thats just the equivalency to a halogen or incandescent bulb at most they might use 10 watts
Same for 60 lol Thanks for watching! 😊
Philips Full color Wi-Fi LED doesn't need a hub just the wiz app. The Philips hue hub light system is total different bad comparison.
I haven’t heard of that before, I don’t see that in the box. Thanks for watching! 😊
What about the Ra value, life span, cooling design and circuit board? Customer services? Stop judging by price only.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Frankie! Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video. I’ve had good luck with Sengled. Support is great. Just moved over to a HomeKit hub. I’ve even had two of their bulbs 💡 running outside in coach lights for over a year. No issues.
Hey Chris, I’ve heard Sengled is pretty good, I’ll have to check them out. It sounds like you’ve had a good experience. Thanks for watching! 😊
What about privacy issues?

Hey Bruce! Glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful, thanks for watching! 😊
The range and connectivity for the Meross is pretty bad unfortunately. I'm using the Nanoleaf and it's very responsive and doesn't disconnect at all. Love it!
Thanks for your insights and for watching!
For the love of good only buy hub based lights and smart things. When the services shut down your lights will still work. If your lights are online service based they vill not

Love the yeelight bulbs!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video. Thank you 👍🏻👋

Really great video! Yeelight also works with Razer Chroma RGB - very cool feature for gamers :)
Thank you and that’s awesome! 👌🏽
After removing local control from their products, Yeelight is a no go for me. As even IFTTT integration is not supported anymore, having to use a proprietary cloud to operate lights is a deal breaker.
You should try FEIT electric
Great colors

I was hoping you would talk about nanoleaf.
The description says why I didn’t include it in the video :)
This review is very bad, just clickbait and after all you just said Phillips is the best option but at higher price. Also your parameters for saying whats good, bad, worst and better are not that accurate, you should probably work on that instad of aiming for the likes and subs.
Thanks for watching! 😊
Get the Hue.

I'm curious about about your accent, where are you from?
Eastern USA lol Thanks for watching! 😊
Thanks for the technical explanation!
WTF? if the Yeelight is that terrible, why are you recommending it and not recommending Meross??? this is very confusing.
In this video I explain why :)
I have hue and love it tho, when i bought mine i slept $100 at target for the starter kit 4 bulbs and hub for about $130 and the application for hue is endless especially if you get the hue sync box.
Hey Casey, thanks for your comment. Philips hue starter does go on sale often. Thanks for watching! 😊
SO, I literally hear nothing why we should not buy Hue. Because of the bridge? You want stuff to work, always?...without hassle? Buy a decent brand...like Philips. you're welcome.
To each their own haha Thanks for watching! 😊
How will 75 watt equivalent not work in a 60w rated fixture?
Some bulbs have Max watt requirements. Higher could overload the fixture. Thanks for watching! 😊
How can any LED Bulb use 75 watts??? Are you sure you are not seeing wording saying it’s equivalent to a 75 watt bulb meaning it’s just brighter? I mean ya, it probably uses more watts... but 75 watts? I have my doubts.
Yep, 75w equivalent. the bulb base will need to be 75w rated to work. it's on lifx website.
