That’s facts bro!! And unfortunately those students make it seem like you need their stats to become competitive. But that’s not true. I’m glad you can resonate!
Bro, I’m a first year intern and I watch and appreciate your content! I’m so impressed with how well thought out and intentional your approach it to medical school is. May God continue to richly bless you and your family!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that and knowing you’re enjoying and benefiting from my videos the way you are motivates me to keep making them!!
Keep going Young man and one day you will be like me an old surgeon Who has two children both Division I football players at the University of Michigan one graduated from the Ross school of business in finance and the other on his way to medical school at the vagilos College of physicians and surgeons at Columbia
Thank you so much for this encouragement! Having not only a successful career, but a successful family like you have is definitely the goal! Congratulations to you and your two sons!! That’s amazing!
@@EvolvingMedic you are going to be great. just don't miss the kids plays or games and they will listen to you. They can't say you were not around. good luck brother take lots of pictures, it goes fast.
It's been a while since I've watched your videos, and I really found this informative! I just graduated high school at 15, enrolled in college, and am currently signing up for classes. I'm excited, and will be sure to keep these in mind. Also congrats on the house lol
Not even going into medicine, however i’m applying to several aeronautical science programs and the information in this video really eased my nerves. Thank you
Just wanted to say that this is a really helpful video! Being reassured about the path I'm taking to Med school, from someone who has already achieved it, is a great feeling.
I'm starting my first year of college a year ahead of a normal teenager, your channel is immensely helpful in knowing how I should tackles this next 4 years, and I'll be sure to shout you out in my white coat ceremony!
Im a second year college student, but really this is my first year actually experiencing college because of the pandemic. I have a bad habit of casting my net too far and wide and ending up with that long laundry list you spoke about! It's almost as if I cant tell what I'm passionate about anymore. Do you have any tips on narrowing down your extra curricular activities?
I completely understand where you’re coming from! And in college, it can be easy to experience that “fear of missing out.” I would suggest saying no to things that only mildly interests you and look for things that you truly love and make you excited. And that way you can have a shorter list, and just by having a shorter list, you’ll be able to put more into the things you’re doing which will ultimately make you enjoy them that much more (kind of fulfilling that initial excitement you had for it). I hope this helps!
Bro, what mayo clinic that's so amazing. Mayo Clinic is my dream school I live in Minnesota and I used to get treated at Mayo Clinic for Asthma problems.
I watched your video but the thing you didn't mention was economical issues for example I know that I am so motivated but I know that I never can afford the price and tuition fees of most of my desirable unies... So I have to chose a place That I don’t raelly like... 🙁
Unfortunately school can be very expensive, but student loans are available and a lot of students rely on student loans to different degrees. But I do know finances can be a big barrier 😓
Lol I definitely know the feeling Moe! Depth and quality of your extracurriculars Will always outweigh quantify of things you don’t really care about. Which luckily makes life easier! Lol
So let’s say if I had 3 things to be passionate about would Becoming a doctor, doing martial arts, and research be good things to focus on ? I also am in a pre med club and run a car club too idk if that’s too much going on or not
That sounds like an amazing collection of things to invest your energy into! And because you seen genuinely passionate about each of them, I definitely think you should continue with them. I think you have the perfect amount going on as long as each of those things are fulfilling for you!
Thank you! And I honestly can’t remember what courses I took my senior year (it was 3 years ago 😅). But as long as you fulfill the premedical requirements and any requirements you have for your major/minor/graduation, you should be good.
It is possible for you to share your school list? Also I wanted to sign up for your course. But I found out about it today and there’s only the student course left. Does that include a review of my ps, and application? You’re an amazing inspiration
Hi! It would be tough to share my school list because I made it on a note on my phone lol. And unfortunately the student package does not include a review of your ps and application. I’m sorry that we are not able to extend this resource out to more students at this time! In terms of sharing your specialty interests, I think it’s appropriate to share interests (especially when they relate to your story), but I would emphasize being open minded and wanting to learn as much as you can about all specialties in medicine.
I only ran track while I was in college. I happily retired in 2018 😊. But it would be very difficult to continue competing in a sport while in medical school
I scored a 511 on the MCAT which was around the 85th percentile the year I took it. Believing that people’s success is only a resort of DEI initiatives is usually how people respond to their own shortcomings. But I wish you the best of luck!
This is needed😭all the similar videos are made by 532 MCAT 6.0 gpa students and I just need someone who I can relate to
That’s facts bro!! And unfortunately those students make it seem like you need their stats to become competitive. But that’s not true. I’m glad you can resonate!
As someone preparing for med school interviews now, this helped a lot and reassured me that being myself is enough. So thank you! :)

Bro you’re definitely probably my favorite of all of the medschool/premed youtubers! Definitely most informative.

I paused the video and walked away, I was in so much shock 😅

I’m so happy my channel has helped you DeDe!! And in 4 years, send me a link to that white coat ceremony so I cheer you on!!
I'm working on finding that peaceful place inside myself 💯
That’s awesome! I’m glad to hear it!
Thanks for the track tease ☺️

I am applying for undergraduate

I am going into my first year of undergrad and I was wondering if you could make a video on how to succeed and balancing time as a new student.
That’s a great idea Thorton! I will try and touch on the topic in an upcoming video. Good luck starting undergrad!
Congratulations!!! What courses did you take in your senior year?

Also do you think it’s okay to share what specialty you want to go into? During interview or on app? Thanks so so much

How about if you are not disadvantaged?
R u able to continue track while attending medical school?

I live that “loves Jesus” on the girlfriend check list, it’s a necessity
It really is bro! 🙏🏽
Super necessary
Bro...I was sure that you were going to attend Anki University for med school. Lol jk jk. Good advice as usual bro.
Hahaha I do bro! Class is 5-8am every morning! 😂

I am sure being smart and being a minority did not hurt either.
