As a engineer for Palfinger i can say that the column of the crane wil NOT hit the cab when slewing. Is stays within the crane foundation when mounting is this way. When mounting it turnd 180 degree, with stabilisers to the front you need a bit more clearance to the cab

How is it too close? The only issue I see is that you will only be able to operate the crane 180 degrees, but that's fine depending on your situation.
