Don't take pictures at a Steely Dan concert. I love Steely Dan, have since the 70s. Took my ex wife and kid to see them at a shed in Maryland three hours from where we lived to go see them, my son was like 2 so it was a family affair, sitting on a blanket on the lawn and whatnot. Three songs in I told her I was going to the front of the lawn to try and snap a few pictures. The camera was worth about five bucks and was prob from the 70s. Took a few shots and the young girl checking the stubs told me from across the lawn barrier that pictures weren't allowed by the band and she was calling security to escort me out. I told her she could have the camera and everything in it and My wife and kid were too far away for me to tell them from here, she said too bad. At the Dan no one stands up, no one, so I could easily see the two 6'4 linebackers headed my way. I threw the camera on the ground and began to run. I tried to make it to the only set of buildings where there was a crowd ( Beer Garden) so I could get lost there. They tackled me in the beer garden, ripped off my shirt and pushed me into a guy holding two giant beers. So 170 lb me sitting shirtless with beer all over gets ran out of there by these two in seconds flat. I went to the back of the lawn gate and paid a couple of teen agers to find them and bring them back to me for $20, which they did admirably. We literally were headed back home for another 3 1/2 hour car ride less than fifteen minutes into the show. Love the Dan, could never, ever under any circumstances go see the Dan again.
Lucy I'm sorry you had a rotten time in Houston. It's home and it's low key one of the best cities in the U.S. The caveat is you need a guide or a local to show you all the cool stuff. Houston is the most culturally diverse city in the nation. You can literally go see the largest collection of Magritte paintings free then go eat authentic Ethiopian food. Hope you come back and get a chance to see the real Houston.

I as a michigan fan watched and rooted for Iowa's football and now women's basketball team, but apparently me being friendly upbeat and positive (even going as far as to defend Iowa's football team on countless occasions) is a waste of my time, as I'm a monster for being born in Michigan and rooting for my local team. smh
