Very clear explanation. I found that the the RD828 is being sold under many brandnames. I bought mine without brand name, just RD828. The sound is a bit low. I hooked my old laptop to it and have the sound output connected to my old stereoplayer. That gives real good and loud sound. My laptop is connected to my Plex network and there is nearly nothing else on it. The streaming is perfect, picture quality is very good too. I'm glad with the digital keystone correction. The picture is clear and sharp. I can start watching in the evening, as I live in Thailand where the sun is very strong and I have my projector outside on my veranda. For the price it is a great projector and I can only recommend it.
Yeah I have found a lot of these projectors are sold by a lot of different brands like you said. Sounds like you've got a great setup too!
@@CandidTechTV Well, one year later: I have to replace my projector already.... I have some blue lines over the picture when watching clear scenes.... not really a big deal, but I don't like it. Sadly, but ok for the price I have used it a lot during last year... But one thing about the sound.... sometimes I forget to turn on the Bluetooth speaker that is connected to my computer... seems the sound is better than in the beginning. It is loud enough. I already bought a new projector, think it is from the same company, a bit smaller, full 1080p HD, same remote, but this one has an Android OS.... it just arrived today.
Love that sign behind you!
Thanks, it was an Amazon find! haha
Just got the Dbpower L23. Nice
Nice work Tim!
Thanks!
Can you recommend a good but cheap gray screen to project this on?
I need some guidance on this. when i play 5.1 movies from an hdd, i connect 2.1 bluetooth speakers and obviously the sound is loud and voices totally dead. any chance to play 5.1 movies on this projector?
What is better Rd828 or LG Ph510PJ ?
I have a q6 and just wanna know how to fix the keystone of my projected is at a non straight angle and I can’t use it crooked any fixes?
How do you change the keystone
Can i conect my pc ( windows) with that hdmi p0rt?
Hi, does it has any input lag? i was planning to play PS5 afteri buy this....any suggestion? thanks a lot
I have a rebranded version of this same projector. Do you know where can I download the new firmware version?
This or vankyo v630w?
So I have this projector and it has created a dark spot, can you please help me with removing the dark spot from this projector?
Anyone have trouble connecting a usb? when i plug one it it doesn't recognize it.
Boa noite, gostaria de saber dá pra fazer USB adaptador para rj45?
Great review man keep it up.
Thanks! Good to hear from you again - hope you're doing well!
@@CandidTechTV got sick, thought I may die but made it back :)
@@xctechs Dang well I'm glad you're feeling better now!
Great Review. For my particular needs, I would be very interested in your opinion about their claim of 8500 lumens.
This lol
Is not that bright. I think it's about what 2000 lumens old projectors had.
I'm looking for a bedroom projector that will display on the ceiling. Is there any way to mount this in a vertical position? How directional is the remote?
Yes it can be mounted on ceiling
Can this reverse the image? In case you want to project from behind the screen? If not, anything with the same specs and price that can?
Yes this can!
i got this but im struggling getting the focus perfect its blury at the sides i have tried everything any advice if i get the sides not blurry it makes the middle of screen blurry its very frustrating
Are you using the Keystone correction?
What about using a roku 4k soundboard? Will it play the audio just hooked up through hdmi or will you need another cord?
Soundbar*
thoughts on the anker nebula projectors? like the apollo or this dbpower i was considering
I haven't been able to get my hands on those to review yet but it seems like they typically are more expensive for the same resolution/features so they don't appear to be as good of a value.
thanks a lot for the review i am curious about how
would the cl760 compare to this
The CL760 that I reviewed before on this channel was native 1280x800p, not 1920x1080p resolution like this RD828 projector. So the RD828 would be the better picture option and is a newer model in general. A lot of listings say they're 1080p but aren't actually (they say "supported resolution of 1080p").
@@CandidTechTV @Candid Tech TV thanks a lot for replying i was also wondering if you got your hands on the growview jq818c and if so how would it compare to the rd 828
I found that turning the image sharpness and contrast down to like 40 or less creates a much better quality image. Also if this ever breaks, the parts are pretty widely available online to upgrade. Especially the tft display or the bulb.
Im going try to try the 40 range...thx for the recommendation.
Where can I adjust these settings?
Is there a way to get better audio output through auxiliary. It’s so low when connecting to external speakers
There's no easy way for that. I think what he says about connecting a Bluetooth transmitter may work but is possible it will sound a littelo low too.
@@juanrramedina8309 I found out that using an HDMI audio extractor works perfectly. I’m now able to have loud stereo surround sound now. 👍
I have a different projector but connected to my amplifier and the sound is great... think it is the same here...
hi everyone. question..is it really 8500 lumens?
Also, I'm looking for a projector to use in my elementary and secondary teaching. Will this be OK?
It's probably "lux" actually. A lot of companies use "lumens" instead... This will be as bright as I've shown. If there are lights on or no curtains, it's going to get a bit washed out during daytime hours.
Dbpower rd828 vs yaber pro v7. Which one would you recommend.
Looks like at least in the US right now, Yaber is $30 cheaper with a coupon and has BT 5.0 built in so at the moment, I'd go with that (affiliate): amzn.to/3jPKjv4
It says that Netflix is not supported can I still screen share with my phone Netflix or no?
No, unfortunately with streaming from another device like a phone Netflix is not supported due to copyright reasons. You'd need to use something like a streaming stick for that.
What's a good bright native 1080p projector for outside. For a 120" screen
This one would be a great option for evening/night use. You'd just back it up a little further than in my demo to fill a 120" screen (mine was 100").
@@CandidTechTV I ended up getting this one. XGIMI Elfin Mini Projector
Check it out
Seems this is like my Groview 9500…awesome projector for the price and I can’t believe I used to pay anywhere from $600 to $2k for projectors that I had to eventually change the bulbs 😩…these are more than good enough for me! 👍🏽
Nice, yeah I think this is a great price range for projectors for a lot of people. You can get some surprisingly good performance nowadays!
@@CandidTechTV would this be your choice in this price range?
@@sirJayGee Yes sir, I still think this is one of the best at the price and offers good performance
Good thing I found mine for $62 shipped
Whats the best projector for around 200$ for gaming ?
This is one or the Growview 9500l…I think they are the same. For about $150 with discount
Does it play videos smoothly? It can play video at 60hz.
👍🏽
Dudes fails to say that you cant use zoon and 4 point keystone together... they reset each other. Also when you turn contrast over 70, the middle of the screen stays white but sides ebcome yellowish. Its also pretty loud, can always hear it even while watching a movie..
Thanks for the feedback. I always recommend using a bluetooth speaker or aux hookup for the best sound quality to drown out any fan noise on any projector. It will greatly improve the quality of the sound too.
In HDMI slots is there HDMI ARC connection ?
Both of these are regular HDMI. Thanks for watching 🙏
I play games on my phone but I dont want to mirror my phone to the projector screen for that. What do people do when they mirror their phone? Just seems lamen
In pretty much every video I always tell people to just hook up a Roku or Fire Stick. Screen casting/mirroring can be difficult and lead to lag and other problems. I think the best use of it is for photos and showing something like a slideshow but definitely not movies/shows in my opinion. You can't even cast most apps due to limitations.
I think it kinda noisy not particularly this model but most projecter in general those who plan to put it in the quiet bed room watching movie before sleep might consider this before place an order online.
Hi Tim, I'm setting an outdoor golf simulator, do you think this is the right projector? Having 8,500 Lumens should be good for daylight projections on sunny days correct?
Thanks from South Africa.
No - no projector works on sunny days
Hey sorry I don't think I received a notification about this comment. This is best for dim light or dark environments. (think some sunshine coming through the blinds to complete darkness). Like George said, most projectors aren't great for truly sunny days. If so, you'd need to be paying definitely over $500 USD for sure.
It does NOT look bright at all
