These could be a game changer for mid to late summer veggie planting. I picture half grown cabbages and broccoli just hanging out by the edge of a forest until it’s time to plant them. The dappled light and humidity from the edge of the forest creating a microclimate nursery for them. Bird netting for protection, shade cloth on really hot days. Off to order some! Also I wonder if scraps of corrugated downspout would work.

Great video. I didn't know such thing existed. My only concern is that the material looks a bit weak. I wonder if they can be found with stronger and more durable plastic
I've used soil blocks for the bulk of my starts over the years. If you get the soil media recipe correct, it works well. Biodegradable peat pots or cow pots are great as well, but soil blockers I find the best way to transplant on the cheap.
I like this concept, and I'm going to try to scrounge up a homemade version. Maybe I'll heat-modify pots to have vertical grooves and no bottoms, stacking two to make them longer. There must be a way.

And for the people crying about plastic: you can make air pruning pots from upside down 1 liter beer bottles with the bottom cut out. Wine bottles would probably work as well but their shape is not ideal at all, champagne bottle would be better in that case but their volume is smaller than the 1liter beer bottles.
Like any tool, one can choose to abuse or use thoughtfully. Plastic is recyclable. So lay of the with the useless comments about plastic. I've found Richard Perkins work at Ridgedale some of the best on the web, especially if you're a producer.
i rly like wonderland fairies whos like, no plastic, no engine, no shoes, no water, no electrocity, no nothing... shure one can chose such enlighted path but then ffs computer is made form plastic, rare earth elements and tons of bad stuff powered by electric pixies. so i wonder how they are able to put their majestic opinions in to the internet without beeing against them o.O i rl like some of this concepts, and thing that we should find ways to limit bad stuff as much as possible but "~what next generations would say if they see that we had plastic, stone oil...", computers so one and most overwhelming thing we done are scyscrapers, landfills, kilometer wide roads, tremendous amounts of desertified lands and horrible polution and no forests, no nice places... i know that one can say its like ring of power, but come on we can use it for good, or not... (?) so many questions... just do the awesome stuff and take care, hope for best and be kind for trees (piece of plastic is not big deal if can give life to tens of thousands of trees) :)

Even for veg I find airpruning pots to be superior, I started corn in trays and transplanted them without any problems.

What about pieces of plastic piping with bamboo BBQ skewers poked in the soil around the edges to make the ridges?
