I just love these old radio shows. Good, clean entertainment. It just seems that our society was so much kinder and more pure during that time. It was long before I was born, but I feel nostalgic and wish we could have these simple times today!
Kinder and purer? 😂 Jim Crow laws, WW1, WW2, women were second class citizens. Society was more violent back then than it is now, all you have to do is look at crime statistics.
Thank you for the upload. These old radio shows sure bring back some great memories of listening to them with my dad back when we went camping at the lake in the 70's.
"What happened to your face? Lose an argument with a revolving door?"(29:56). Y'gotta love old radio. Bill Conrad turned up in a lot of various old radio shows.
I wud never had known it was Bob Hope even now I still can't tell !!! These are great stories and this one is one the best!! The writers of all these shows do a great job in writing some wonderful tales and it wasn't til the end of the show that I cud tell it was Bob Hope but that's as much as I'll say as don't want to give away too much!!!! Enjoy the story!!
Interesting to hear Bob Hope in this offbeat context. I always thought all he could do really was makes a long series of wisecracks, and sometimes once amazingly well in movies. This is good. Makes me kinda wish he'd done more dramatic roles. Could have been very interesting. Sinatra and Ginger Rogers did everything.so why not Hope?
@@GazB85 an emergency breakthrough is where you literally called the operator by dialing zero, told her the line you're trying to reach is busy and she should breakthrough the line, or check to ensure it wasn't off the hook. What a trip, in retrospect🤣

First time I have ever heard Bob Hope as the bad guy. Well done!
Some are just good at playing the bad guy and end up being the nicest people!
Don't know! Good point!
That was excellent! Well done, Mr. Hope.
