I just failed the ISC2 cc exam. I mean just failed it … this afternoon to be exact. I’m taking a break just for today and then I’m going to start study for the sec +. I’m using my failure as a way to improve for this certification. I am lucky to have stumbled upon your video.
Thank you very much for sharing your experiences and your study materials. I struggle with learning but I'm hoping with enough hard work, I can pass this exam. Once again, thank you!
Thanks Alexis! I appreciate this video. I’ll be taking my exam in about 8 weeks. Just finished up Jason Dion course on Udemy and now I’ll head over to Andrew’s content. I have no IT background but it’s clicking for me! I’ll be back to share my progress 🎉😊
passed mine last month using Andrew's course as well. He was very entertaining to me, and made the material applicable to situations. Practice tests are key in my opinion.
Thank you, thank you, thank you soooooo much for all of this! I'm right there where you started and I thought it was impossible at this point. I appreciate all of your insight and knowledge tremendously!!
Hi Alexis, new to your channel. I just want to say that Security+ is important for any business you work for, for example, in my my current job we work need to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Security+ was a huge help in learning the 14 control families of the NIST SP 800-171. All businesses have PII that need to be protected and again Security+ is huge.
Wow, gem videos like this are hard to come by. Very well articulated and packed with GREAT and USEFUL information. 100% straight knowledge. Goodluck to you and your journey!!!!!
- Dion, check - Print course, check, - Bind at Staples, check Lol we had the same ideas. I'll apply what else you said. Hopefully I pass first try. Thanks.
Thank you for the video! Question on ports/protocols do I really need to know the udp/tcp part? I know the names and I know the ports but that part I never memorized 😂 and was hoping I didn’t need to go back and throw in my memory 🙏🏽
Congratulations🎉🎉I am currently studying and your tips will definitely help. We seem to have similar learning styles. The one thing I’m nervous about is my mind completely blanking out when I sit to take it. I always do that when it comes to exams..especially if they are timed.
Thank you! I almost blanked out but I had to pull myself together by thinking about how much it cost and that the only thing that was standing in my way is me. Sometimes the mind is our own worst enemy but I had to reel mine in so I could get back on track. Good luck with it! You got this!
I think this is the most explicit video on preparing for this exam that I've seen. But can you please tell me how many hours a day you studied? Cow I'm struggling with that.
Thank you so much! I feel that Jason helped the most. He's detailed but he does teach unnecessary information, so beware of that. But as I said in the vid, it's better not to reply on just one source. Good luck with your studies!
Sadly, my boot camp only introduced me to the concepts. It's even stated in the course syllabus that the boot camp alone is not enough to get these certs. So I had to really study. The job market is tough right now with all of the layoffs so finding a job has been difficult.
I personally think that Dion's trainings were not as useful for me. I didn't like how a lot of the information was thrown at me one thing after another after another... If you purchase professor messers 3 exams and take them over and over again you'll be fine. STUDY acronyms that you do not know. Take note of things that you miss on the exam and study that. Take each exam a few times I promise you'll be set!!!!!
Thank you so much! I'm hoping to land a job in IT. I understand now that landing a job in cyber security is a little harder so I want to put the work in doing IT first. I also may go back for A+ and Net+!
Hi Alexis , Congratulations!!! just wondering what you were scoring on the Jason Dion practice exams I’ve been scoring low to mid 90’s on those exam I’m taking my exams next week and I’m still super nervous 😂
Thank you so much! You are definitely good to go if you are scoring 90s! His test is harder than the real exam so you should have no problem as long as you understand the concepts. Good luck next week, keep me posted 🙂
@@hanko498 To me, yes the pay is worth it but it varies depending on where you get a job at. I've seen some pay $11 all the way up to $23. It just depends.
What message are you trying to pass on by saying you passed a cert in 2 months? That it is easy? Or you're brilliant? Or it's just important to get this cert in short time no matter what?
Just passed mine the other day with a 768. I used some of these same study habits. Great tips on your video!!
i love that shes so relatable.....she so motivating. I have my exam set for july 28th 2023
How are you studying?
How did you do?
Did you pass?

Where did you get your practice tests ?
@@axdre91 several sources….I actually used the CertMaster stuff for some, but Dions practice tests seemed the most like the actual SEC+ exam to me.
Find your tribe. Fantastic words of wisdom right there!

Thank you so much for watching. I'm happy I was able to help! Best of luck with your Cybersecurity journey 😊
Thank you for this info. I passed my network+ exam last September, and now I'm working on security+.
Congrats to you and your story is a inspiration
Congratulations. Very Helpful
God bless you Queen congratulations!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

Thank you for the post, I am try your way. 👌.

Good for you glory to God i hope i can do the same in time
Congrats!!!
two of my sec+ questions
Turnstile is an example of which type of security control?
How to login to linux box without password?
I think this is the most explicit video on preparing for this exam that I've seen. But can you please tell me how many hours a day you studied? Cow I'm struggling with that.
Please can you help send names of materials you used for your security+ certificate, thanks.
awesome! work Alexis, I cant wait to sit my exam 1 month :)
Congrats.
THANK YOU!!! What exact Mike Meyers book did you you use?! Thank you!
Congrats on passing… I’m working on studying now
Hi, what is your background when u studied
Which is Mike Myers book
I'm so proud of you 🏆
Congrats on getting your Sec+ cert! What other certs do you plan on getting? I’m in IT now trying to get into cybersecurity.
Congrats on passing! Which Udemy course did you feel helped the most? I have Jason dions but have not started yet.
Thank you so much! I feel that Jason helped the most. He's detailed but he does teach unnecessary information, so beware of that. But as I said in the vid, it's better not to reply on just one source. Good luck with your studies!
What is the subject we should focus the most?
This is a huge help! Also, congrats! Do you plan on taking the CySA+?
Thank you! I do! I heard it's much like Sec+ and from what I've seen, it just expands on the information that is taught from Sec+.
How much experience did you have prior to Sec plus?
Thanks for watching! I took a prior boot camp which introduced me to some concepts but I have no actual technical background.
I just started studying and its alot the objectives alone then the 4 pages of acronyms how many hours did you study a day.
Thank you for the video! Enjoy the journey do you plan on doing more certifications?
I do plan on getting more. Seems like IT is all about certs lol.
Did your boot camp not help you be prepared for the sec+ exam? And have you had any luck finding a position?
Sadly, my boot camp only introduced me to the concepts. It's even stated in the course syllabus that the boot camp alone is not enough to get these certs. So I had to really study. The job market is tough right now with all of the layoffs so finding a job has been difficult.
I want to do security+ but not in a rush. With the sy0-701 releasing in November of this year, do you think I should wait to buy any paid resources?
How did you print out your notes ??

You know all the acronyms?
How much did you spend on study materials
Did you find real pbqs anywhere?
congrats on passing, what do you plan on doing with the cert?

Whats the website for Jason dion website for practice test? Do I need to pay?
@@b-41subject57 www.diontraining.com/home is the website. I bought my test on Udemy with a free trial for Udemy Business.
Hi Alexis, update I passed as well im so relieved now!!!😅

Awesome! You got this😁. Just remember to breathe and not to doubt yourself. You'll be golden.
You passed the Security+ in one month? That is too long for me as I passed it in 5 days!
Do you have Net+?
Not yet but I am looking to complete the trifecta!
a whole grocery list of resources lmao
did you pass in the first attempt ?
Yep, sure did!
@@AlexisHope thanks do appreciate it
Have you been able to get a job?
Yes but in help desk! Apparently, everyone starts off there unless you know people in high places.
