    You also get a different bracelet with the Prestige Edition. Screw links and different clasp. Not sure if screws are used on links of standard bracelet but standard bracelet has butterfly clasp rather than the milled clasp that comes with this one.

    I quite like these, the ordinary version is around £1750 on leather in UK,but it is a chronometer,I like the "1832 heritage" which is a very handsome watch and seems to be rather overlooked.

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  3 года назад

      The 1832 is absolutely stunning! Alas, it is too large for me. 😔

    The regular collection has the lower quality clasp on the bracelet versus the fold over clasp on the prestige.

    Thanks for sharing. Looking for a new watch. Wear a Rolex Deep Sea right now, which i love, but in the market for a little bit dressier watch. Came across this one. It captivates me. What a beautiful watch. It shines in all its simplicity.

      @@coffeeboyclips1973 well after seeing this video i actually went out and tried it on at the AD about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately they only had the 40mm version which was too small for my wrist. I'll probably go back when they have the 42mm in store to check it out again. :)

    Best looking watches longines makes by a long shot.

  • @Ryan_Tinney
    @Ryan_Tinney 3 года назад

    Love these. Longines has done well with the "vintage" watch releases recently.
    I do hate the new movements though. All of the new Swatch brand movements are made to where you can not regulate them. That is a real bummer especially in the future when they need service.

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  3 года назад

      Hmm, I had not considered this. But you make a very good point...something I'll be chewing on the next couple of days. Thanks Ryan!

    • @Ryan_Tinney
      @Ryan_Tinney 3 года назад

      @@engineer_wannabe It is crap. All the "powermatic" and other names they use for the modified ETA movements have no way to regulate them. No problem now but in years it will be. The new movements are essentially throw away movements. It is also a slap in the face to all of the watchmakers around the world.

    • @ajilano7753
      @ajilano7753 3 года назад

      Hi I’m still quite new to watches and can you educate me with this please? How do you regulate watches and why can’t you do it in the new movements?

    • @michaelriera6277
      @michaelriera6277 3 года назад +1

      There is a lot of misinformation about these high power reserve movements. They are ABSOLUTELY serviceable and can be regulated by any worthwhile watchmaker. I encourage you to ask your local watchmaker as these ETA movements are very easy to service and are NOT throwaway movements. These movements are also very accurate out the box

    • @Ryan_Tinney
      @Ryan_Tinney 3 года назад

      @@michaelriera6277 Micheal you are correct in the regulation as it can be done by the two screws. I worded my comment poorly.

    I am SO confused with myself, every time you get your calipers out to measure i always see a totally different reading to you. I dont understand why I am getting it wrong, lol. Example the lug width i read as 19, and you go "yep, about 21, 21 and a half" and I'm like 🤔 😕 👀🤕😖

    • @engineer_wannabe
      @engineer_wannabe  3 года назад +6
