      Yes your money will go much further and the people are generally good to you. Cost of living is easily 30-50% of what life will cost you in the USA. @@BBAERSTANCE1, no, it's because our currency is very devalued compared to the dollar and Euro.
      There are many rich and middle class people here in Brazil, too.
      Probably, you have the impression that there are "only poor people" in Latin America because of the poor immigrants that search a better life in the US, illusioned by American movies and the big exposure of the US in their media. Immigrants always dream that they can get things quicker and easier out of their countries. Here jobs that do not require education have low salaries because there are many people available to do them. We had the biggest and longest slavery in the Americas during the Portuguese colonization and poor people from neighboring countries etc. are always arriving. So, most immigrants from Brazil are these people with low salaries. Besides, automobiles and electronics are much more expensive here. The middle class, on the contrary, because of the big social differences, has a better life than in many countries because they can buy cheaper properties (cheaper labor), can pay people to clean their homes etc. They are not the type of immigrants that you'll see in the US, a minority.

This, along with living in one of the coolest and most interesting cities in the world, makes the package as a whole an opportunity you can’t refuse.

    Definitley going to show these videos of yours to my students. I work as a portuguese teacher and I frequently have to hear the same thing over and over again "what about crime in Brazil" and I am like "what about it?", mostly from students living in Chicago, London, Paris. My uncles were violently robbed as soon as they left the airport in Barcelona and when I was in Viena, Austria I was being followed by someone and had to enter a shop and wait until the son a bitch left. Unfortunately or fortunately, we brazilians don't hide our crime and violence problems, we try to hide our racism but it's 2021 and that can't last too long. But Europe especially never, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER shows their downsides. I lived in Europe for 2 years and omg, poverty there is bad in some areas and people living in worse conditions than in the favelas of Brazil because at least the favelas now have a community sense and people help each other there and it's little by little developing in a way and not to mention that politicians try to do something there because those people vote as well and who doesn't want votes? But in Europe, the poor and miserable ones are like invisible. European media only shows their beautiful castles, architecture but never what happens outside of those boring squares where the churches and museums are.

    I fvcking love this episode! As an AA(poc) with wanderlust who lived in Mexico last year I had family members fearful of the skewed perception of crime and racism in cities such as Mexico City -fueled by colonizer fear media. My counter argument every time they thought they were thoughtfully airing legitimate concern was 1) I am a black American, the levels of hate, racism, discrimination, and danger I've faced in the US is orders of magnitude more oppressive and caustic; facts. 2) Crime rates: I've lived in big US cities my whole life Chicago, LA, NYC, Detroit (not to mention those abroad), crime in the big US cities eclipses crime in Ciudad de Mexico insofar as armed robbery, grand larceny, and murder.
    While living in the cities I visited in Mexico I slept with doors and windows open or unlocked. The sense of community and my neighbors were legit af, not hateful, selfish, exclusionary, and fearmongering. Dont get me wrong, I always exercised prudent judgment and have keen street sense, but my blood pressure went down not up living in Mexico, facts.
    I saved up so I could move back permanently to Mexico for this year, but while there everyone I befriended kept telling me, "You have to visit Brazil" "When you come back, we are going to take a trip to Brazil". I started thinking, 'I should wait on getting a place in Mexico and visit Brazil because I may actually want to move to Sao Paulo or Rio etc instead'. This episode has really helped me insofar as conducting due diligence for the Brazil idea. Gracias!

      You can live pretty good with a 1200usd mth in Brazil. You can also learn Portuguese easily with the locals or take a course, whatever you want it won't cost much...

      It is economical there and you'll have a great time. The people are amazing. There's also some danger of being harassed some places I am told, so it's not all as nice as I remember in the past - i felt like a celeb there, but Brazilians respect Americans and it's a culture that's very people friendly.

    The main trouble that prevents Brazil from reaching a paradise level is its political scene, so much corruption and lack of compromise... If we manage to shut off the political business, we can get to a new concept of modern society, and be attractful for world's enterpreneurs... welcome to my country!!

    • @Karl__Pierre
      @Karl__Pierre 3 года назад +3

      Agreed! But it will take the people to push for this progressive change. The country has ALOT of potential could be in the top 5 world economies if they got rid of the political BS. Every single Brazillian complains of the same, its up to the people to push this issue.

    The dichotomy of the two opinions regarding credit was interesting.

    • @Karl__Pierre
      @Karl__Pierre 4 года назад +1

      Thank you. This is a debate I have regularly and I think it comes down to personal experience with debt. I was raised with the same thinking so throughout college, then tried to get a business loan and had no credit. Realized my parents were wrong and had their own hardships with personal credit. So it's important for me to sound off on the importance of credit and how to properly use it.
