I have had my 18 Accord EX for over 2 years with no mechanical issues. I noticed that some people are concerned with the reliability of the 1.5 turbo. It's not a high reving engine due to the efficient CVT. The powertrain is silky smooth for a CVT with small 1.5 engine. IMO Honda has done a spectacular job with the latest generation Accord and has an edge over the competition including the Camry and Sonata. My only minor gripes with the Accord is some road noise and the ride can be a bit choppy on certain roads. However, for a fully loaded Accord in 30k area you are getting alot of value for your money with solid reliability, mpg and good overall performance for a family sedan. Another well done review Joe!! I know you are big fan of Honda and the Accord! I look forward to your new reviews and anxious to see the 2022 Accord redesign!!!

We just bought two 2020 Civics in our household. While shopping, we thoroughly drove these two cars as well. The Accord's handling blew me away. So did the interior finish. We opted for a Civic Hatch and Civic Coupe EX for daily drivers because with homes in San Diego and Vegas, smaller is better for us. And none of us need a rear seat except for airport pickups. We have a UX200 for that.

The EX-L with only a 1.5L in 2021. Considering it was always available with the bigger engine (V6 or 2L Turbo... Honda's trying very hard to make the touring a bit of an "exclusive Value Acura" and relegating the EXL to "more midrange"... bear in mind for a LONG time the EXL was always the top accord until 2013. Hey Joe great video as always, you’re the best! Hard to tell from the video but I was curious about the back up camera quality? On my 2019 CR-V I find it bit blurry not super clear. Glad to see wireless apple car play/Android Auto but I’m not a fan of the infotainment center, mine freezes up and is laggy, from forums it appears to be a common problem.

Good zonk on that lower chrome trim. It looks like it doesn't belong down there. I'm torn between a smaller sedan like the civic.. and the midsize Camry/Accord... They're so much bigger, stretched hood(to hold these massive new engines) and slightly larger trunk for just a bit more interior space in the cabin. I just wish the compact sedans had better luxury options and refinement of the midsize because I think the size makes more proportional sense. To rant, the most guilty of having an overinflated midsize sedan is the Charger and Taurus.. those things are like tanks.

  • @wbwayne8887

I personally like the Mazda 6 the best in this class, but the Accord is an outstanding car. I don't think any car has had more consecutive 10 best wins in Car and Driver than the Accord. It is kind of a permanent fixture on that list.
One major zonk imo of the Accord is the truck like turning diameter, especially compared to others in the class. That might even be a deal breaker for me. The CVT on this particular model certainly is. If I am buying an Accord, then it will be a 2.0T and 10spd auto. Unless I buy a 2018-2020 preowned Sport 2.0T with 6spd manual, my real preference. A shame Honda discontinued the manual on the Accord for 2021.

Went looking at Honda accords 2010 when looking for a new car and even then the body styling and interior looked cheap with a heavy price tag so bought a phase 2 Mazda 6 2.2D Sport.
