facts that is the issue. this was competition no violence/malice involved and it was initiated by Kendrick, this is exactly what he claimed to be looking for. You can't rap about being on top and waiting for a challenge and then run when its time to prove it. I respect him for doing it on stage though.
@@jayshawn it's not about him claiming to be the goat, it's more about him constantly claiming that he wants someone to come and try him. He has had multiple verses over the years claiming that he is waiting for someone to test him. Which is why Kendrick in the Like that verse said: "it's time for him to prove that he's a problem." because Cole always claims nobody wants it with him. Which is why this is strange behavior from Cole now
Exactly I hope his pops see this coke been saying he want someone to test him and when someone checks him he tucks his tail don’t get me wrong I understand where he is coming from but you went on this road too far to back out now
I get that y’all but there is no way y’all can convince that the person he wanted to come for him is Kendrick Lamar, aka the person that he’s said he’s respected for yearssss. I feel like if this was someone else coming for him, it would’ve been a harder diss track and he wouldn’t have apologized. But it’s someone that he looks like as a friend, and I get if you don’t respect it but as a human you can’t tell me that you don’t understand that.
Pops I got you, but the past 4 years Jcole being saying I'm the greatest no one can challenge me, the minute you get challenged you fold, Kendrick said show me you like that, you start apologizing, he saw the boogyman coming he ran, he knew what Kendrick was going to do with that diss
@@elinefarious3357Cole Can’t go rapping about how none can touch you, when it comes to lyricism and when someone challenges you, Cole goes apologizing. At that point you should of just never responded
Of course he did, cause pops is a real grown MAN, he thinks like a man & understands how a REAL man who doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks moves.
Tell pops we all wanted to hear metaphors similes, a thesaurus dictionary and storytelling, no blood sports just two great showing what they can do with a pen and a microphone, nobody was thinking this was a beef that would go beyond rap
Exactly This is Hip Hop it’s all about proving who the best and competitiveness Cole can’t go talking bout how he the greatest and not be ready to show it
Exactly! That’s that dumb shit saying we can’t compete with each other cuz we’re black. IT IS COMPETITION!!! It’s like playing a sport! If someone takes it too seriously (like pops is claiming) that’s their fault cuz guess what..IT ISNT THAT SERIOUS
Being a man is not recording an entire song, having it mixed and mastered and approved to drop, letting it sit for a few days as the last song on the EP only to apologize after you got your direct shots off
so people can't make mistakes? so you ar e perfect in this life and have never done anything you regret? Nice! Good for you. I swear ya'll live in a fake ass world and be judging people in a way that you yourself don't even live or aspire to. No one in this life is perfect i promise you that, and I will never in my life presume to know the heart and mind of another person.
@@WarWolfeXfuck outta here with that cope. He threw a rock and hid his hand. Being a man is standing on ur word and not flip flopping like a female. Stop making excuses.
What your pops is describing at the end with the collab is literally what Eminem did in the 2010 Era with the biggest rappers that were poppin. He had respect for them so he didn’t wanna just straight beef but he got them on track or hopped on features with them and asserted dominance. Examples are Lil Wayne, Drake, Kanye, T.I., Jay Z, Nas, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar. If you wanna Spar and keep the peace that’s the way to do it. The audience will decide who did who In. 🤷🏻♂️
The biggest reason why you have to take respect away from J.Cole is because it is hypocritical of what he has been saying for years, he's not practicing what he preaches. This move seems like he can't handle himself in a beef with Kendrick when this was just friendly competition, it's like being in a game against MJ in his prime and forfeiting at half time because the Bulls are up 30 on you. Edit: Pops is a wise man though his wisdom shows, he articulates his perspective well.
it's not like that. I agree with half of what you're saying but NEVER should you "Loose Respect" because he didn't do what everyone expected him to do, to downplay his lyrical ability. his greatness as a whole. every rapper to ever exist has at some point (hundreds of times) in their career has claimed they're the best or GOAT. it's normal.
@jayshawn really why is it all of a sudden you can't say I'm the goat and if you don't want beef then you a coward. Plus all the past beefs always started cause they hated each other.
@@Angel-nv4ls know your hip hop history before you type. You’re wrong on both fronts. One rap is a competitive genre of music. It’s a culture. Clearly you’re not in the culture. Every single artist who has claimed they were the goat was challenged by someone and two no not every beef was started because they hated eachother there have been many friendly non violent beefs throughout hip hop and even some of the more scarier artist still no one died from it. Smh. Y’all wanted j cole to spill blood now that he’s went pussy y’all want to talk about peace stop it.
Pops not understanding the fact that Cole BEEN claiming himself the best and asking for someone to step to him. Nothing wrong with competition in the least violent way possible. Cole regretted it cause it wasn’t received as well and Kendrick wasn’t gonna pull any punches with his reply
Damn Pops turning me around on this. Makes a lotta good points, when you think about it. And the only point the other side rly got is.. "well uhh dis hip hop tho" True that. But a person can change their mind.
pops is def right you got mad lucky to have a man like that steering you in the right path, been watching y'all content for a little now and my favorites is when y'all discussing stuff like this.
that's not a problem for mature people. it is a common sense that every single rapper claims to be the greatest. they claim that they destroy every other rapper out there and that is just a normal thing. when cole said im the greatest in the big 3 people thought he dissed kendrick but they obviously forget the simple fact that in big 3 there's drake too which is like a brother to cole and don't tell me cole was sneak dissing drake too. bruh i just don't get it. yall acting like kids and be like : woah, look he said im the greatest, so he prolly dissin everybody. shut your ass up
People don’t seem to realize that hip hop is a competition. J Cole was the one trying to say who the “best” artist was and named 3 artist. Kendrick responded and say I’m the best no comparing. Cole responded and retracted his statement. While you can respect Cole as a MAN, you lose respect as an artist because of how lyrically he didn’t want the smoke.
I stand on 100 with your pops, matter of fact you earned a sub because of listening to your pops speak, and articulating the elephant in the room so prefectly. It takes a lot to come ahead in front of all those people especially his own city to apologise and set peace with it. He ain’t trying to do them same mistakes he has done being younger
I respect that cole apologized , yeahh he might felt like he wanted somebody to challenge him at the moment but people grow man & dats what this world fail to realize dat people grow
Amazed watching good parenting happening live. Thank you sir, you have all the respect in the world (even without the hindsight) - I supported Cole's decision too, but I think that sort of mentality is restricted to those of us whose twenties are long behind us.
2pac and Biggie was friends before their "Rap Beef" and look how it ended. I'm sure nobody back then thought it would turn into what it turned in to. Even though as fans we don't believe it would turn into that, who knows what could be said by either one that cuts deep and ends up not only destroying a friendship but end up worse. Our youth is so blinded by pride and ego they don't think about the snowball effect.
and that's the vibe I spoke from. but I remind myself that I was once where Josh was so I don't blame him. I just hope he sees it before I did in life. This kind of stuff is why I do these vids with him. Thank you for your support!!!!!
Nah, its a competitive sport, its entertainment for a reason. There was no actual beef between kendrick and cole but cole doesnt have the competitive mentality. Its like a footballer scared to tackle another player because he doesnt want to hurt him. It was a mistake on coles part to even say he's one of the best for the past few years. It was worse for him to apologized, he shouldve done it after kendrick hit him back with a reply honestly. We wanted to see real pros play and find out who has the sharpest pen, we dont plan on seeing people die and that was never gonna happen. What a disappointment for the culture
it's not a competitive sport! the battle rappers are here for that. These two are artist who make music and actual songs. It is music not a sport. Ya'll forget that music and sport are two different things. Music is art.
I agree with that except Cole really is one of the best that has been out the past few years. I cant think of many artists that have been on the same run as him in Hiphop in terms of consistency and quality. Respect where it's due. The dude has been the backbone of HipHop ever since Kendrick went on a bit of a hiatus. I mean just look at other artists like Kanye or Drake. Their albums are all over the damn place compared to Cole. Jay-Z retired, Lupe is inactive in terms of album drops, Mac Miller died, Wayne has been inactive, Em hasn't dropped an album in years, neither has Royce. You get what I'm saying though.
Apologizing after a reply from Kendrick would’ve been worse. That would’ve been like getting in a fight, getting beaten up, then apologizing for fighting. Would’ve been worst than an Ether. Now, it’s like Cole shoved Kendrick, then apologized before Kendrick threw a haymaker.
IMO, the only reason JCole felt any remorse was because he criticized Kendrick’s discography. (As an “artist” JCole knows the difficulty, passion, & time it takes to create and be creative)…If Cole never Disrespected Kendrick’s albums, he never would’ve apologized.
The biggest problem with Cole apologizing is for many of his songs he says he this and that and he be telling people oh I’ll kill anybody that goes against me. I respect Cole as a person and stuff. But this is rap no one is wanting blood or expecting violence. we want bars we really want to see who is the best in rap
And another example I have been making is rap is a whole sport. Like in basketball if Lebron dunks and stands over Curry. Then later be like oh sorry I shouldn’t have done that😂 like what this is a competition.
This is so much deeper than rap! Rap game and basketball game is totally different. I think a lot of people on here is too young to fully understand and I'm not dissing anyone bc of any age.. but this rap beef shit gets deep and it's only rap and friendly competition.. until somebody gets killed!
@@kingz4ever68 bro what?😂 talking about killing is pointless tho. We all know Cole and Kendrick ain’t going to actually fight. It is just simply two of the best lyricist of our time going at it. But Cole and everybody agreeing is making it deeper than it is😂. We as fans and rap/hip hop lovers are for the competition. We is not here for apologizing for being competitive. Like he has literally downplayed everything he has been saying for years
Because he is. He can t touch that man on a featuring song. That doesn't mean he can t battle you in a feat song,he just don t wanna diss his brother, thats all.
pops is right only if cole was not a type of rapper who invites people to challenge him. cole has spent so many years saying no one can step up to him and telling people to challenge him but now that Kendrick held him up on that offer he steps down? he didn't have an issue going after lil pump but kdot is the issue? he isn't being a man he's just being a hypocrite
You can be as mad as you want but u gotta respect it at the end of the day. U gotta respect it and realize he tryna be the bigger person bru and even me im a die hard j cole fan i got 3 vinyls, 2014 forest hills drive 4 your eyez only and the off season. Im mad and sad but u gotta respect it.
Pops saying "you have to be accountable" and the son just smiling, smirking that shit off is all you need to know where his head at. That is all you twitter mfs
Cole said it himself 'pride is the devil' Massive respect for doing what he did, he aint stupid he knows hes gonna lose so much respect saying this and he did it anyway. If you succumb to peer pressure and admit to it, admit you were lying to yourself in what you said and admit you were wrong for how you stepped you are a bigger man than anyone who calls you soft Josh youll understand one day man, you have an incredibly wise father 🙏
I agree with pops cause I get it from a rap fan standpoint but from a human standpoint I get where Cole was coming from. We ain’t never see J Cole in no rap beef ever, that just ain’t his character. The moment we see it, y’all expect him to go for the jugular and to start a war. Which I feel like his verse was fire but him apologizing for it shouldn’t be surprising that man said multiple times IN THE DISS that he ain’t wanna do it but his phone was going crazy saying he needs to respond back, so I get the pressure he was dealing with. He did something that went against what he truly feels and believes in just for y’all entertainment, so he took control back with the apology. Now if this was someone like Drake or Kanye or YB or sum it would be different cause them boys diss for a living lol so it would definitely look crazy but J Cole always been a pretty humble guy, so this is expected from him, at least to me
Ok so if he went against how he felt then that’s his fault and still a soft move. Whether or not you can understand his reasoning it doesn’t change the fact that he’s being soft. You’ve already taken your action so you follow it through. That’s what a man does. Sometimes your feelings don’t matter. That’s what people don’t want to say.
@@ShroomDoggyDogg it would’ve been soft if it was anybody other than Cole, for me it was expected. He just fed y’all what y’all wanted but it wasn’t true to his nature, if he continued with the facade just for entertainment for y’all KNOWING he ain’t have it in his heart fr to do it, that would’ve been more lame in my opinion so I would have ratcheted him apologize anyway
it’s not his character but he been rappin bout bein the best and asking people to test him and then when he get tested he crumbles up and apologizes. It’s called being a HYPOCRITE and it’s disrespectful to hip hop
@@ShroomDoggyDoggThis is very dangerous mindset to have my guy. I hope you don’t apply that mindset to everything because when you open a door you will find out that there is a whole mansion to be discovered. Making an action and following through with it regardless of what it is illogical behavior. With your logic you’re saying that if a man stabs another man out of anger he should finish what he started and stab him some more because he already stabbed him once. That’s how people die. I’m NOT saying J Cole or Kendrick are going to die or get hurt, I’m using a simple analogy and nothing more. If someone does something they regret and it goes against who they are as person and apologizes that’s not “soft”. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you just wait until someone does something life changing or anything at all to you and they don’t own up to it or apologize on their behalf. This is honestly ridiculous. Saying sorry makes us all weak now. Y’all don’t give a damn about these men and their lives. You want to see what you want to see and hear no matter if that means another man has to tear his soul apart for you to do it. This is deeper than rap. This generation is sad and soft. I see a lot of projection going on.
SOFT HE WAS NOT FEELING LIKE THAT SAYING NOBODY COULD RAP WITH HIM HE FELT RAPPERS WERE SCARED TO RAP WITH HIM HE FELT LIKE MUHAMMAD ALI HE GET ON A TRACK WITH YOU THEY NOT EVEN GOING TO REMEMBER YOUR NAME THIS IS THE SAME GUY THAT SAID IF JESUS ASKED FOR A FEATURE HE’S GOING HELL SO THE MOMENT A WORTHY OPPON CHALLENGES HIS RAP CHAMPIONSHIP BELT HE RUNS SCARED 😐
i respect cole's apology, but it's disappointing. i really wanted to see what this competitive environment would bring out of both kendrick and j. cole. to see them try to one up another and try to take their tracks to next level would've been fantastic. maybe it's because i enjoy the aggressive nature of hip hop but i was really excited for the second wave of responses and this apology put an end to that. it also makes all of cole's provocative lines in recent and previous tracks less impactful because he's not lining up rappers and shooting, he's not the one doing the "clenching". i understand where cole's coming from, but i wish we could've seen that second wave. would've been some incredible rapping going on.
I’m with Pops! First thing everybody said when the Kendrick diss came out was “we ain’t gon ever get a collab now!” Cole explains why it ain’t sitting right with his spirit and he’s cancelled?!? His whole body of work dwindled because of a beef that never really was?! I see why 3 Stacks left the culture! Trust, if Cole decides to retire his absence will be felt! Let that man protect his peace!!
I don't think j cole soft at all because really its just a petty beef they had . Nothing serious at all lol. They didn't even fist fight 😂 just a he say she say beef. Harmless
We can respect Cole for being true to himself, and being a man about it... but he had 2-3 weeks to think about that. There was more time for him to record, mix, and clear the record, than there was for him to have nightmares about what he did... hip hop is and (hopefully) always will be competitive. For some reason we seem to confuse competitive nature in an art form, with physical harm.
Tbh when you’re a conscious/lyrical rapper it’s basically looked at as a sport just like battle raping. the people that want them to keep releasing the tracks against each other or just the fans trying to hear their best work at this point like it’s not like they’re about to fight or shoot each other they’ve had beef over who’s the best artist for years so really, it should just be looked at as battle rap
And if you really think about it, and go check out some battle raps you will see they say a lot more disrespectful stuff and most of the time nobody ends up fighting or shooting Some people just like to see who’s better and see two artist try to go at it but yeah, kind of made his diss pointless
@@Mw2playa813but that's battle rap and they know what are getting into. Why does being a lyrical rapper automatically make it that you have to beef with someone to prove you are the best. I would rather them both make the best records and show it thru the record instead of taking shots at each other. All it takes is for one of their friends to do something stupid and the friendliness goes away and it turns into a real war. Plus all these younger rappers ar dumb enough to pull up and start a war. Thinking they helping. But at rhe same time if Kendrick response with a diss, Cole has to come back with a track.
pops, you from the beef era. LL didn’t apologize to Canibus or Kool Moe Dee, KRS1 didn’t apologize for south Bronx, Jay didn’t apologize to Nas and Ice Cube didn’t apologize to NWA…it’s hip hop! Can’t call yourself the best then fold…this isn’t a Ted talk!😂
That Ted talk line is a killer lololol..... I DO understand the sentiment that I'm from the beef era though. I AM. And because I am I also see a little further down the road. The beefs nowadays aren't the beefs of yesteryear. Nowadays beefs have a quicker tendency to go beyond wax. You got camps and artists going to extreme levels. Cats are making videos of pissing literally on their ops grave and stuff that goes beyond the pale. Biggie and Pac are both gone, Von and countless others. To ME, it's just easier to call yourself out when you make a move that violates your inner person. Rap is art, not a sport. There isn't a #1 that can be quantified because it's really an opinion. (Cube and NWA did squash their beef and Naz and Jay did indeed apologize and laffed about it) ..... Ted Talk still got me gigglin'! lolol... Blessings my guy!!!
It’s not like Cole was asked something and just blurted it out. He took time to find a beat, write song, record the song and then put it out. He had plenty of time to think about it.
Broooo. Your father accused you of moving the goal post when he's the one who literally moved the goal post. He couldn't answer those simple questions directly because he knows its soft as hell to apologize to a man for smacking him in retaliation for smacking you. But this rap dissing isnt as deep as a man smacking another man.
"No he threw a rock and then stood there in front of 50 thousand and was accountable for his actions and told you he threw the rock, but his actions don't sit well with him spiritually and it's not the person he wants to be and he apologized for his actions. Most of yall aren't creators and don't realize where a real artist has to go in his heart ,mind ,and soul to write a song to lyrically destroy someone he loves. The world is doomed if people can't respect that. Furthermore, why everyone acting like the competition is over!? Fuck the diss songs J-Cole just dropped an Album along with it that's on its way to being a classic!.. plus the "Fall Off" album on the way expected to be a classic.. Kendrick gotta respond to that!! One diss song is not gonna cut it.. Kendrick gotta drop a Classic entire album and quick! ( possibly 2 classic entire albums if Cole drop the Fall Off album back to back). Cole should be respected for his accountability and apology...and because whether y'all realize it or not.. Cole just raised the stakes higher bc now it's not about one or two diss songs, these two possibly about to compete for superiority by who can make entire classic albums!! Too bad people can't see that bc they love negativity so much and love seeing artists tearing each other down and trying to destroy each others career and or spark the fued that ends someone's life!!

@@kingz4ever68 i'm not saying the competition is over. I am only saying I don't think Kendrick is under any pressure. Not because Cole is also dropping heat lol If Cole never dropped another album I don't think that affects the quality of music Kendrick drops. Drake is the only one under pressure because he can't hide behind Cole
MJ and Kobe were great friends. That never stopped them from talking junk and competing to be the best. It is weak because he has been asking for it for years. He sent the shots first on the Drake collab. Kendrick responded and said challenge accepted. Cole responded and then apologized. That is weak because he took something from his fans and took Kendricks opportunity and their opportunity to have a friendly competition away from the fans. This isn't Pac and Biggie beef. This is sport.

I agree with his pops also. A lot of drama and Negativity in the world. He's trying to be the bigger man. There's nothing wrong with the being the bigger man. I just feel like that there's nothing but drama and negativity in the world. Besides every or most rapper or artists call themselves the greatest rapper or artists in songs and interviews. And say cap things about themselves in their songs also so why can't he do it as well? besides he's gonna to be 40 next year so why would he need this for even though he made a mistake by dropping 7 min drill. Internet or the world is nothing but Drama and negativity fr.
Hear me out. For everyone that think that what Cole did by apologizing to Kendrick was lame and wasn’t supposed to do that is childish. Just think by J. Cole doing this in front of the world could be his ticket to heaven when his time come. “God Forbid that happing soon”. It takes a strong person to do what he “Cole” did. In front of the world at that. The world want beef n violence all the time. And it’s sickening.
Nah you have to stand on business when you having daring any rapper to come at you for years and then when it happens you fold, you have to stand on business
Bro this was not a blood sport... Not a single soul wanted any more than for them to prove who was the best. This all started because Cole was claiming he was the biggest in the room and when Kendrick wanted him to prove that THROUGH RAP, he has the audacity to fire back and then apologize? This wasnt a slap and slap back, this was a rap game finals and instead of playin ball Cole walked out the stadium and felt bad for even daring to go head to head with em. Nobody taking this outside of rap man; id body tf outa my friends and family in tekken ESPECIALLY if they claiming they better and still be friends and family during and after. Only during im gonna show you that tough love.

I was and am also disappointed that Cole apologized, and for me it makes his recent work not hit the same.. but I gotta say, you got a good father my boy.
The only part I think he felt bad about was how he was critiquing Kendrick’s body of work, when he k owed at heart he was cappin, because he really does fuck with Kendrick
Bruh Everybody knows that Cole and Kendrick would never take it there. All we wanted is bars, wordplay and see those two bring the best out of each other, Nobody said we wanted blood and violence
if he ain't wanna be in beef or battle over the top one spot than he better shut his soft ass up about I'm the UNO and all that muhammed ali shit lol. Literally all bark no bite
No baby no that's not what it's called I don't think you understand. If he had integrity he would have never said anything he would have left it between Drake and Kendrick Lamar that's what he would have done. For the last two to three years he has picked a side he has took shots he took shot at the shop at the shop he has called for the last two to three years he has picked a side he has took shots he took shot after shot after shot. I mean now it is Kendrick Lamar said something back he only said a couple of words to him most of that this was for Drake he still could have ignored it. No you want to jump out there and act like you ready for this battle you said you was Muhammad Ali okay now you got to prove that you are the greatest what Kendrick Lamar let us know this n**** not great and he was absolutely right
Wait a damn minute, if you’re an old head, then you’ll understood what competition means in black culture and it’s not something that’ll lead terrible unless you’re divorced of manhood. All of the greats were driven and battle tested. Kendrick went light on Cole, but Drake was completely decimated. The taking away of competition evens the Plainfield when it comes to white mediocre artist and the Degenerates to take over our music, diluting the landscape. What Cole did was the sign of a dying genre.
Say what? Cole has been talking shit about him being the greatest, and that he wanted to be tested, and the moment he got tested he folded. Stop coping with this disappointment and just accept that Cole is nowhere near Kendrick. When he dropped 7 minute drill, y'all said it was a warning shot. What's that? Cope. And now when he apologized for DISSING BACK, y'all saying he humble and mature?
Pops cooked, as much as I’m cringing for Cole, he is speaking FACTS about manhood. I lost respect for him as an MC, but gained respect for him as a person.
Josh, you're right. For your age, and perspective, you're right. Pops, you're right, for your maturity and wisdom, you're right. Neither of you is wrong.
Kendrick and Cole fans are one in the same. They been cool with each other since 09’. They was supposed to have an album together, both of they camps collab with each other constantly. That’s why this whole thing is weird and half Hearted. Kendrick isn’t dissing Cole, he just confused of why the dude is chillin with his opp (drake) so much, he prolly saying bro what are you doing, don’t sell out and align with drake just to have some more commercial fans, we are the dudes who actually write are raps. Cole mess up chillin with drake to hard and he just realized it.
It's a competition but if he doesn't have his heart into it I don't blame him for not wanting to indulge further into that. Cole gave in to peer pressure
I'm so glad that there are people here that are agreeing with what his Dad is saying. Everywhere else is so different. This is the ONLY reaction I've seen so far, that has mixed opinions. Everyone's disappointed and talking about how J Cole has lost fans etc... what for being real and staying true to himself? When would this back and forth have ended? Neither of them hated each other, neither of them had a library of ammo against the other. Neither of them wanted to see the other one fall. It just seems nonsensical that people are hating on him so much for deciding that this isn't it, when there wasn't a real beef to begin with.
But he still fell for the bait and apologized when he wasn’t in the wrong. There’s still manhood factor that has to be addressed, being competitive is alright. It’s reasonable to respect him still, but it’s not when he calls himself the greatest. All of the greatest were battle tested, even Drake and Kendrick were battle tested.
Lmao it’s funny though cause before the 7 minute drill shit everyone was hyped for J. Cole to respond. People were saying he’d kill Kendrick and Kendrick should’ve never alluded to him. Cole has been bragging for the past whatever number of years about being the best and killing rappers but when it’s game time, we’re throwing the “maturity” coat on. Where was the maturity when people were hyping up shit up? An apology got people wanting this “beef” to turn mature?
I don't agree with pops I'm afraid. If Cole feels like his raps represent him, why was he acting tough in his music all along? Why the gun bars? Why the "ima check whoever think they the best" talk? Only to tuck his tail and run when challenged? Nah
Naw pops Cole soft bc he's been saying for years he's the best but when somebody stepped up to challenge him he tucked his tail. On top of that Kendrick went at Cole first so responding was Cole just standing up for himself then he apologized smh Cole can't rap like he the best no mo
i respect what he said and where hes coming from. Only thing i hated about this is the fact that used "the pressure i felt from ppl... those that want blood and war...so i had to do it" ohhh that makes me mad cuz he doesnt have to prove anything to anyone. Its fine to regret later, just dont throw that on us
Cole has spoken in every verse for years that hes the best and wanting someone to test him just to backtrack like this smh
facts that is the issue. this was competition no violence/malice involved and it was initiated by Kendrick, this is exactly what he claimed to be looking for. You can't rap about being on top and waiting for a challenge and then run when its time to prove it. I respect him for doing it on stage though.
hasn't every rapper? I'm confused is'nt that normal to say you're the goat despite who you are?
@@jayshawn it's not about him claiming to be the goat, it's more about him constantly claiming that he wants someone to come and try him. He has had multiple verses over the years claiming that he is waiting for someone to test him. Which is why this is strange behavior from Cole now

in retrospect, J. Cole sleeping easy right now for getting out of this beef. He knew. He KNEW. 😂

I really dig the way you and your Dad have convo. Thats such a blessing. Stay up Kings

Thanks pops for putting it in perspective.

Josh youll understand one day man, you have an incredibly wise father 🙏
@@ShroomDoggyDogg it would’ve been soft if it was anybody other than Cole, for me it was expected. it’s not his character but he been rappin bout bein the best and asking people to test him and then when he get tested he crumbles up and apologizes.
I see a lot of projection going on.

i respect cole's apology, but it's disappointing. i really wanted to see what this competitive environment would bring out of both kendrick and j. cole. to see them try to one up another and try to take their tracks to next level would've been fantastic. maybe it's because i enjoy the aggressive nature of hip hop but i was really excited for the second wave of responses and this apology put an end to that. it also makes all of cole's provocative lines in recent and previous tracks less impactful because he's not lining up rappers and shooting, he's not the one doing the "clenching". i understand where cole's coming from, but i wish we could've seen that second wave. would've been some incredible rapping going on.
We weren’t serious tho lol😂
Shouldn’t have never dropped the diss track, he was pressured by his own fans and peers, and those same people are defending his decision to apologize
Josh only “standing on it” because this generation too worried bout what somebody else gone say over their own feelings😂💯💯💯💯

MJ and Kobe were great friends. That never stopped them from talking junk and competing to be the best. It is weak because he has been asking for it for years. I agree with pops 100% smh
True i think he really listened to that song he made in like 15 minutes and felt bad cause he was talking about someone he really cares about
Your dad is right. He’s definitely right on those who are itching for a fight and will throw rocks and hide their hands.
y’all not listening to pops shows the level of maturity y’all don’t have
how does a punch resemble words two different scenarios
Beacuse these 2 ( cole and kendrick ) are the best this is how you end the debate its not seeing them fight
josh be listening to too much YB bro just wanna crash out
Bruh Everybody knows that Cole and Kendrick would never take it there. All we wanted is bars, wordplay and see those two bring the best out of each other, Nobody said we wanted blood and violence
Stop it, this wasn’t gonna go beyond rap and like the comment above 👆🏾 said we want bars and wordplay not bodies

Pops you're a wise man, you got me thinking
JOSH SAID HE STANDING ON BUIDNESS LIKE DRUSKI😂😂😂
It’s called INTEGRITY! I wouldn’t expect this generation to understand
It's called cowardice.
Integrity would not be letting others force u to do something this is called flip flopping
if he ain't wanna be in beef or battle over the top one spot than he better shut his soft ass up about I'm the UNO and all that muhammed ali shit lol.
Listen to your pops- wisdom comes with age. J. Cole is respectable, he's a legend either way.
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE POPS!
@@Dhiae_z “y’all” haven’t said anything. K-Dot is my number 1 and I’m very aware his pen is capable.

This Generation is cooked if yall think Cole is soft for being the bigger person and accepting humility
Pops cooked, as much as I’m cringing for Cole, he is speaking FACTS about manhood.
I lost respect for him as an MC, but gained respect for him as a person.
Heavy on the accountability… what’s understood don’t need to be explained
J cole can never call himself the best rapper ever again

Josh, you're right. For your age, and perspective, you're right. Pops, you're right, for your maturity and wisdom, you're right. Neither of you is wrong.
I can dig that and even agree with the perspective. Good point. ....(Josh still wrong though lolol) Godspeed!!!!
Hope Kendrick comes back with a vicious diss… then at the end says “sorry….. not sorry”
Some "i wanted to take this time to apologise... to absolutely fucking noone* type shit lol
It's a competition but if he doesn't have his heart into it I don't blame him for not wanting to indulge further into that. Cole gave in to peer pressure
All I know is that third spot is open for JID now. Ima need him to claim whats his
I'm so glad that there are people here that are agreeing with what his Dad is saying.
All the lil kid minds can’t comprehend Cole really don’t like negativity
I don't wanna hear J cole say he is the best rapper anymore.
Listen to Spice Girls if you don't like Hip Hop
He contributed to it, saw everybody's reaction to it, and now he's apologizing.
@@wilmasolol the only reason cole responded was because of the nature of the game and fans but it’s not that deep tbh
Nah
Yall need to start streaming, or do a podcast, these videos are fire.
Naw pops Cole soft bc he's been saying for years he's the best but when somebody stepped up to challenge him he tucked his tail. On top of that Kendrick went at Cole first so responding was Cole just standing up for himself then he apologized smh Cole can't rap like he the best no mo
You got a kid mindset
he wanted smoke and now he is apologizing @Kingcometrim
i respect what he said and where hes coming from. Only thing i hated about this is the fact that used "the pressure i felt from ppl... those that want blood and war...so i had to do it" ohhh that makes me mad cuz he doesnt have to prove anything to anyone. Its fine to regret later, just dont throw that on us
Interesting point. I kinda think it was more HIM not being able to sleep because it just didn't feel right though. but still, good point.
