your video made me almost... ALMOST cry. i moved out to colorado from Great Barrington in the fall of 2019, and i've been beyond desperate to move back ever since a month after i moved out here. the Berkshires, and most of New England has to be the most beautiful place on Earth. thanks for the video
“Berk-shIres” - has immediate flashbacks to being stuck behind tourists on Route 7. But also a great video that brought back a lot of happy memories of home (grew up in Stockbridge, in the Berk-Shers)
Very well done. I grew up half mile from Monument Mt. in Great Barrington. Yes, bears are around often. (and yes, we all pronounce it Berk sures. ) thanks. I drive by Tanglewood, The Mount , etc. daily. I always know I'm fortunate.
I visited a few years ago in The Fall and based myself in Lenox, driving out to visit many surrounding towns and settlements and having a great time. I hope to return some day in the summer, to enjoy a concert or two at Tanglewood!
Fantastic story of The Berkshires- the information and images woven through were so interesting! I had no idea that there was so much undeveloped land, culture, and food in that part of MA!
You have to be older to appreciate a place like this. As a kid growing up around Lowell toward Boston, i never gave this area a thought but now that ive struggled in other states and now want to return home, im starting now to look in THIS part of the state
Here's a funny story but true I found out my family is from this area and when I moved up to hear it felt like home like nor else has ever felt and when I moved up to these areas I felt at home and I got to say I love it up here the winters are beautiful the nature around is beautiful that people are so kind and respectful everybody looks out for each other nice hospitality wherever you go up in these areas I highly recommend if you haven't came to the Berkshires it's a awesome place and I promised put it on your bucket list it's beautiful we got waterfalls we got everything you could think of Jiminy peak we got a racetrack even and you can see a lot of old cars there a car shows we got a bunch of family-owned small restaurant we got so much to do I can't put it here come to the Berkshires and I promise you're come back for generations to come and you are tell your family to come visit the Berkshires and who knows you might move to the Berkshire seen how beautiful it is imperfect
LOL, no. I'm from Kentucky and lived in the Berkshires twice. The fishing there doesn't compare to fishing in Kentucky. The Berkshires win on MANY fronts, but not in fishing or bodies of water.
Yes, and every few years some idiot renting a house gets mauled because they intentionally leave food out. You’re not feeding Pooh folks. It’s a wild animal that can tear you apart like newspaper.
Great video and promotion of my home county. but with one objection!! the correct pronunciation of Berkshire is Berkshure! not Shire! even though its spelled that way. all the locals say Berk-shure not Sh-ire!! ugh!! we all gringe when we hear that. But thank you for this video and our area. ECF

this area is MAGIC once you visit you will always return

My son goes to UML and my brother lives in Lowell... my son always says... he loves Lowell but can't wait to get back home to the Berkshires
Many thanks - this brings back lots of happy memories!
Thank you for this video. I will visit one day, God's willing.
We loved Monument mountain! great hike for all levels
Great narration! It held my attention.
Too bad he literally mispronounced Berkshire.

I'm from Kentucky. Lived in the Berkshires twice, and really miss it. I miss Boston, too.
Shhhh don't say too much...they like that undeveloped land...can't blame em 🌲
Also great fishing!

Frostproof Florida in Polk County thst's surrounded by 2 lakes would be a nice area to explore.
Yeah, 2 lakes probably with snakes and alligators. At least we can swim in these lakes!!!
My brother was born in Polk County, he lives in Daytona now. I've lived in the Berkshires twice :D
I see the sherrif w lots of going ons....naah
super
Do they have black bears? Probably.
Yes, and every few years some idiot renting a house gets mauled because they intentionally leave food out. You’re not feeding Pooh folks. It’s a wild animal that can tear you apart like newspaper.
I don't think its often that someone gets mauled...but yes..theres a good amt of black bears around.
Not Berk - shiires; Its pronounced Berk - sheers at least that's what us locals call it.
It’s shir, or sure. Berkshir, rhymes with stir
No, Berkshire natives say sure, Berksure, or shir, rhymes with “stir” like New Hampshire
Beautiful. I was born in North Adams and grew up in Ashley Falls/Sheffield.
It's a short I not a Long I
we say "berkshur" not "berk-shire" :) awesome footage, though!

It's pronounce Berk-sheers, not shyres.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who immediately cringed when I heard him say it.
It’s shir, berkshir, rhymes with stir. Like New Hampshire (shir)
loved the video, but as a New Englander, I cringed every time you said “Berk-shyers”; it’s pronounced “Berk-sheers”
Please accept this humble Midwesterner's apology on the tourist pronunciation. :) We try not to make that mistake around here often.
Not sheer, Berkshire locals do not say, sheer. It’s “shir, or sure” berksure, rhymes with “stir” like New Hampshire (sure)
Really nice video BUT- Its not "Berk- Shire" its "Berksher" This is not the Lord of the Rings!
My Chicago accent gets in the way sometimes. Not a local, but I still appreciate your area no matter the pronunciation! ;) Thanks for the update!
I've always heard it pronounced as Berk-sheer.
lmao (lord of the rings)
Nope, locals do not say “sheer”
Probably an AI generated voice narration.
"BerkSHIRES?" Yikes! It is pronounced "Berk-sheers." Criminy!
Berk SHURS.
