Hey Tater. You have inspired me to vlog. I am leaving to the Philippines on the 6th. We will see how it goes. I went to Hong Kong in March. Wish I would have done it then. I have been looking for new content from you since your last video on Malaysia.
Watching the SEA travel meta, I'd say your witty humour, humble self, and commentary kept me entertained for almost an hour. Happy you enjoyed KL so far. Will watch all the other videos you have as well!
no worries about the language as english is widely spoken & understood in malaysia.(english is a compulsory subject in our education system all the way from primary school years of 7 to 12 till we finish secondary schooling of age 13 to 17...only that some are not practicing the spoken english esp those from rural areas etc etc for whatever reasons). Just a note: for pedestrians or walkers there's a fully air conditioned walkway from the lower ground floors of the mall in klcc all to the way to the pavilion mall in bukit bintang. The walkway is partly underground from klcc to the kl convention centre & elevated above ground from there to the pavilion mall (the structure can be seen from the ayam kunyit foodtruck you were at early in the video).By the way your vlog may hv been weeks back & probably you hv left for other places/countries too 😅. Safe travels always 😊
Best thing to do whilst walking aimlessly around is stop any local n ask where you are, where you want to be, what's in your vicinity n how to get 'there'. Locals are very helpful, friendly n willing to help you. Will safe you at least 4-5 miles of needless walking. If you stayed a tad longer (right aftr the sunset) at the misty River of Life, it's spectacular picture worthy experience as the river full on turns misty electric blue. Quite a sight to behold. Enjoy KL .. (frm an Expat living in KL).
The food truck operator is probably Indonesian. You won't have any problems getting through with numbers in English when it comes to the locals at least
Indeed most (if not all) of the front line individuals - such as security guards at malls, waiters at food courts, shop assistants at convenient stores, street beggers, etc - visitors tend to interface in Malaysia are foreign migrant workers. According to Tun Mahathir when he was Prime Minister in 2019 there were more than 7 million foreign workers in Malaysia - a very high number, equivalent to 22 percent of the country's population and 45 percent of the country's workforce.

According to Asia Society Org Indonesian language is a type of Malay language. The "Indonesian" label given is just a political label. Hence the Malays in Malaysia can comprehend indonesian quite easily.
Yes, 'bahasa Indonesia' is Malay language in Indonesian slang. The word 'bahasa' is a Malay word & it means 'language'. The Malay language has been the lingua franca of this region since the 15th century. That's why Indonesia use it as their national language as it is widely used/spoken, & call it 'bahasa Indonesia' in their country - to unite the peoples from the many different islands there. Southern Thailand speak Malay too, but in their own slang. Singapore & Brunei speak the standard Malay like us here in Malaysia. Cheers & have fun travelling. Stay safe. 🌷
You should try eating at the restaurant where you tried out the electric scooter. The restaurant's name is PELITA. They serve Nasi Kandar. Its a Malaysian Indian muslim cuisine unique to Malaysia. They serve an array of meat curries (lamb, chicken, fish, etc) on rice. When ordering ask for 'kuah banjir'. It literally translate to 'gravy flood'. This is when they 'flood' your plate with an assortment of curries. How to order: choose a protein of your choice (or two), some veg and ask for kuah banjir.
