No, my husband wore dressier shorts, a tshirt and running shoes to the ala cartes and was fine. I think they just don’t want you to show up in a tank top or swim wear.
Which of all the hotels would you say is best out them all? Hopefully going in July with two adults and two children but finding it hard to choose where to stay! The Esmeralda has stood out from the rest for me personally

Yes, I would say the Esmeralda buffet has better options - and even though the Punta Cana and Bavaro buffets are bigger, there are more guests so it gets picked over faster.

Hey, great videos! have been 6 times to the bahia in Mexico and back in 99 to the the one in Rio San Juan in the DR, but i think they sold that one years ago. Now looking for maybe the DR again, looking at esmeralda.. is it the same like in Mexico? Can the luxery use all the buffets? Pools? Can we use amber? We like to Explore. Thanks in advance

HI and thanks a lot for that video. These videos help so much. One question. I am vegetarian and didn't notice much of vegetarian choices. Do you remember that there are separate vegetable dishes (without bacon bits and besides the salads) or will I be starving once there? I also didn't see any beans or peas in the salad bar.
Yes, they usually have stir fried veggies at the buffet. You can also talk to you server to let the chef know you are vegetarian and they will likely be able to make you a vegetarian meal, or point you to the vegetarian options 👍🏻
It depends who you are travelling with and what you like. Grand Aquamarine is adults only, but only has access to the other “Grand” Bahias on property. Luxury Esmeralda is not adults only but has access to the other “luxury” and “grand” hotels on property. The rooms and buffets are pretty similar at both 👍🏻
Hi, I just booked the Fantasia, but would you say the Esmeralda is better? And why? If I change the reservation to Esmeralda would I have access to the Fantasia castle and pools? Thanks :)
Only Fantasia guests are allowed on Fantasia property. If you are going with children, then Fantasia is definitely the better choice. The splash pad is great for kids and they have a cute projection show on the castle at night. The food and rooms are going to be pretty close to the same at both resorts.

How is the a/c at the buffet? Been to other bahia principe resorts and the buffet were extremely humid and uncomfortable.

I would say Ambar is the best on property, but since you’re travelling with children I agree - Esmeralda is great! 👍🏻

Yes, the Ambar buffet is very similar to the Esmeralda buffet 👍🏻 they’re both great!
In your opinion, which resorts you have been in Punta Cana that has the best seafood buffet (If you can list them).
Either of the Luxury Bahia Principe hotels - Luxury Ambar & Esmeralda - have the best quality and selection of food 👍🏻
