The Robeson Concerts: Peekskill, 1949

This documentary was made in 1998 by Marilyn Elie, Mike Dimeo and Abby Luby, members of a research group called Voices From History. The three-year project looks at the two concerts held in Peekskill in 1949 -- the first was abandoned when a mob grew violent, the second proceeded peacefully but audience members was ambushed on a narrow country road while returning home.
