This is actually a really accurate depiction of Scourge.
He wasn’t an insane bloodthirsty monster who killed for enjoyment, he was cold, calculating and emotionless mafia boss-like serial killer.
He killed as a way for other cats to fear and respect him, since he always got looked down upon as a child.
A lot of fans draw him all smug and insane whenever he kills someone, but that isn’t who Scourge is at all.
He shrugs off any times he brutally murders someone, not giving a damn about the atrocities he’s committing.
Hell, he didn’t revel in killing Tigerstar for very long at all, if you think about it. He was like “Haha finally got you back” and then almost immediately brushed it off and declared war against the clans.

I love how his head re-attaches to his neck/shoulders after he dies, to me, it symbolizes that only death could bring him back to his senses. Incredible details!

This is gorgeous! Y'all pick the best colour palettes. And I really like how everything is dull to Scourge except in his skyland. The expressions are so clear and good, the perspectives are interesting. The designs of each cat are very distinct, which is great considering the palette. The tweening itself is very smooth and it has weight! This embodies the song perfectly. I love the symbolism, everything is absolutely superb. Wonderful job!
Im just gonna guess that no one has color because, it’s like how scourge feels, maybe he felt that he was the only one that had color!
As someone who sometimes gets a little tired of the repeated topics in Warrior Cats MAPS/PMVS, I deeply respect, appreciate, and admire the insane creativity and artistry that went into this video. With thousands of Warriors animations out there, the UNQIUE ones are absolutely my most favorites
I like how the story of Scourge is intense yet subtle, and plus the character designs are also really relaxing.
I kinda like this theme. My favourite is the last scenes with Firestar and Scourge. How he "loud" his claws and the change from nine to eight in Firestars eyes, what also look like a infinity symbol in this position. Scourge seems to don't see the nine and the infinity of life in his eyes then the death. Even how his claws falls away like they were his weapon he holded. You are really creative for thinking always new themes for each cat and the color themes. I always enjoy watching your videos!
When scourge was at peace after he killed some one and his head was off his body, it reminded me of an oc when I was a wee lad- god I was an edge lord. Anyways with that being said I really enjoyed this. The transitions and the feel was just incredible

Really loved the grungy vibe of this one. Really suits the city surrounding bloodclan. The pure apathy of scourge as he drifts off to his dream space till finally Firestar breaks in. That ending was so cool with the live counter in firestar’s eyes and the petal stars bleeding from scourge’s wounds as he falls. Truly spectacular!
I like that firestar gave him a neck as if prior he wasnt mortal.
Now that I think about it, this PMV explains perfectly why Scourge lost, despite his weapons. His power relied so much on those claws and teeth, that when he saw them fail after slicing Firestar's neck, he collapsed for a few moments. And that was his doom.

okay okay im finally commenting on this bc i needed time to process how good this is because o h m y g o d
(this comment is kinda messy don't mind me, im just rambling)
first of all, the aesthetic throughout the whole vid is amazing! i like that scourge is the only one colored while the rest of the world is desaturated and monotone. i really want to interpret that as scourge not really perceiving the world around him. he lives in it, but he can't fully process that it's real and not just his imagination. i think the scene where firestar gets out of the water at the end reinforces that idea. he's quite literally coming into scourge's world; he's colored and scourge *sees* him. he finally truly sees someone other than him for the first time
i absolutely adore scourge's expressions for the whole pmv. the calm, peaceful expressions when he's in his world after killing someone are amazing, and they contrast really well with the calm, but bored ones when he's in the real world. i especially like the one at 1:43! i always like seeing how people show scourge's emotions when seeing tigerstar, and while i like it, the whole "he's ecstatic bc he finally got revenge!" is getting kinda old. i like your version of it! i don't really have the right word to describe his expression, but i love that he almost immediately goes back to being calm. like that was just a normal event in his day and nothing unusual just happened. (which, granted, it might be bc this is scourge, but hey)
also, speaking of that scene, i really like that there's flowers growing from his neck! i know nothing about flowers so if they have any meaning, i don't know about it, but it's a really nice touch! i'm not sure how to interpret the whole "scourge's head is detached from his body" thing, but my best guess is to further imply he's detached from reality. almost like he's playing a video game in first person. he sees his body, he sees other cats, but he's not truly there (kinda ties to what i was saying earlier about him not fully grasping that he's in the real world). that could also explain why he's so calm after killing other cats, because they're simply characters to him. they're not real, they don't matter. he's that one guy that plays skyrim and kills npcs just to see what happens
also, the use of water is an amazing idea! the fact that water represents death is really clever and you did such a good job representing that! from when scourge kills another cat and just watches them sink to when scourge himself gets killed, it's incredible. and i *love* that you made firestar get out of the water, and that *that* made scourge see him. firestar literally came back from the dead, he swam back to the surface, something scourge has never seen before. (bonus points for showing his life count in his eyes, i love that) i like that it makes firestar special, even as a leader. scourge killed tigerstar too, yes, but tigerstar died 9 times and didn't get back to the surface, whereas firestar did.
the end scene where scourge sinks? brilliant. absolutely amazing. the way he sinks slowly to the bottom (i like to think that he's just dying while that happens and he only truly dies when he's at the bottom) where he finds his collar's old medal where the name was scratched out is really nice! i like to think that since the medal was there before scourge, it shows that tiny died first, even if his body was still here as scourge. as for the cats scourge sees while sinking, i have two interpretations of that? since they're not all the way to the bottom, it could be starclan, who while technically dead, are still very much alive in some way. that's why they're not at the bottom, they're eternal, even in death. it could also be the cats scourge has killed before, but i find that less likely since they're not all the way to the bottom and it doesn't line up with how i interpreted his fall. but i like the idea anyway
seriously im very tempted to just write out a full interpretation of everything that's going on in here but this is a youtube comment section and im lazy! so im just gonna finish by saying you really outdid yourself with this one Lichi! Look Away used to be my favourite pmv of yours for the longest time, but this one won me over! (granted, scourge is one of my favourite character so i'm a little biased) i always love seeing your pmvs, your use of color and metaphors are always such a treat to look at and interpret! and i love that you make zines for your pmvs! i haven't had the chance to buy one yet but it's a really nice touch, i wish people did it more! (and no, i will not take it for free >:(( you will get my money one day i swear) anyway, keep up the good work! can't wait to see more of it
I really like the whole "tranquil" thing after he brutal murders a cat. It really fits Scourge, at least how I personally see him. I like to think the whole floating head thing here as his apathy. He isn't emotionally connected to what he is doing. So whenever he does it his emotions, or head, just aren't connected to his body, or physical actions.
damn, this was such a great video! It's definitely a masterpiece, not only with the art itself, but the symbolism and subtle storytelling it godly!
I don't understand all of the symbolism, if any actually... But I love the tranquil state he always enters after killing someone. And the fact he has no neck during those parts gives me the feeling of disconnection. Like, his head is momentarily at piece, separated not only from his body, but perhaps also his present circumstances? And the flowers that sprout from his body after he kills Tigerstar is like he is finally pleased and satisfied in present, now that the one who hurt him is dead.
But the fact that he has a neck in his flashback sequence and while he's dying, I feel are moments where he's not disconnected. Esspecially while he's dying, and he falls beneath everything, almost like everything he worked hard to achieve is obviously quickly slipping from him.
And when he sees his Tiny tag at the very end, it's like it's taunting him more than anything. One hugely traumatizing experience by one cat at a very young age led to his entire downfall in the end. His greed for blood and power corrupted him beyond the cat he could've been if he also hadn't made bad choices...

I hardly ever comment on these types of videos but this is truly fucking masterful how you incorporate symbolism, music, and your talent together to tell this story. I love this character and this video showcases a lot of my favorite moments in what makes a killer storyline.
I love the dichotomy between Firestar and Scourge in the last scene, Firestar is just losing a life, but scourge is losing his WHOLE lived life in the shedding of his collar and claws, a high status that was his way of living, and in a way a victim of Tigerstar.

The colors are absolutely amazing, there's so much detail put into it, it makes me want every video of yours taped to my eyes. And the line art? Brilliant, I adore all the funky angles and the way you draw characters, it makes your art so unique! The backgrounds are amazing I especially love the clouded backgrounds and ESPECIALLY the Firestar Vs Scourge fight background.
My brain can not grasp what the symbolism in this video could possibly mean but it doesn't matter I'm sure it's great too. The way his head comes off after he kills a cat is so unusual? It's just so cool looking I love it when animators take creative liberties. Also, your song choices are amazing, please make a playlist of every song you listen too but they're all bops (I'm kidding but your pmvs have introduced me to so many good songs and artists ejehej).

i like how scourge is the only one with bright colors, it seems like it represents how he just kinda feels untouchable?? and then when firestar came in, he was the only other cat with vibrant colors too, kinda saying "ey, you thought you were powerful??? think again"
and then scourge just falling down while all the cats who've died are all around him,, such beautiful imagery,, does his lil nametag being down there also represent how tiny "died" a long time ago, leaving only the empty husk that is scourge?
but either way, overanalyzing aside, all your pmvs are so colorful and unique, and you better keep it up!!

Your art style is so unique, and that combined with the fact that I can only hear about half the words in the music you use in your animations (I have auditory processing disorder so it’s not that uncommon for me to not understand the lyrics in music) creates this really neat effect. because if you think about it since nobody is loosening his collar as he grows it would be really tight and probably have some sort of scar where it was.
If Scourge would've just been chill for a couple more days while tigerstar kills firestar he could've taken over and killed tigerstar without having to *die.*
