    Keep the wrench in the undo position, so when you turn the tool to cut the wire, it tights further the loops.
    Also instead of the front hole, install a small rod, to constrain better the wire near the edge.

    Beautiful design. You don't need the useless hole in the front. the top edge of the tool needs a notch to grab the loop, and the two ends of the wire go into the tube to the crank. Thanks for sharing.

    A little bit of Oatey or Hercules Duck Butter pipe lubricant may help cinch up the wire . The lubricant is not detrimental to rubber . Cap repair off with heat shrink tubing .

    Augment the wrench with a wheel/knob that has a ratchet so the wire remains nice and taut.

    I like the use of the drill press vise. Put it on a Workmate and you have another versatile tool.

      It is sort of the truth. I saw someone do it and tried it myself. No harm in showing failure? (Victory has a thousand fathers while failure is most often a orphan). But if I may ask, please check out my other wire binding videos. Over there I think it looks a bit more like I am working towards an end goal that can work.

    Isn't there a way to make a wire hose clamp that dont waste so much wire.........

      This one works way better with much less waste.

    @Jaco Badenhorst: It was painful watching you use the quick and cheap binder. Good video, though. Cheers!

      It was painful for me to. Don't think I'll be using it much.

    For some reason, this seems better than Clamptite.

    • @JacoBadenhorst
      @JacoBadenhorst  3 года назад

      It does work. I'll confess that I'm bias as I am used to using the clamptite style as well as my heavy duty model.

      @@JacoBadenhorst I watched the video again and paid more attention to the comparison and I agree with you. The mechanical advantage with the Clamptite style is more. The ease of making and the low cost is probably the main advantage of the "quick and dirty" clamper. I'm planning on making a Clamptite style clamper from a turnbuckle. I subscribed and am watching more of your videos as I write this. Great channel. Wishing you more success.

      Thanx for the comment. Luckily my shop is not a pro shop, I try, test and build stuff in my home shop. So I'm bound to have failures along the way.
