    Dessert Fox 6l Fuel Cell... as a fellow 390 rider, it's kinda essential when long distancing in Safrica. Gives me an extra 150km, 200km if l nurse it.
    Straps on easily to luggage...l have 2 actually...one for fuel and one for red wine 😁

      Those desert fox fuel cells are great! But carrying extra fual is not an option. She will just steal some fuel from the 890 when she runs out 🤣 no what actually happened there was the “low fuel” warning came on and we now know that that does come on way way to early on the 390! Not sure if you also have that? Cissy gets about 32/34km/L depends on how we ride. Thats fully loaded so she has over 400km range. So more than enough and the 890 will donate some fuel if needed! 🤣 but when we go into stretches where fuel stops is over 500km yes then we will make a plan. 😁 thanks for the tip! Always good to hear from others!

      But I like the second use for it! Wine sounds good! 🍷

    Enjoying your videos. On those those roads, you know someone is drunk when they drive in a straight line

    Nice video, what is attached to your helmets at the back? I like the clear communication between you 2

      Thank you, we glad you are enjoying the videos. We have battery banks strapped to the back of our helmets for the go pros. Makes it easier to keep the camera on all the time instead of carrying a bunch of batteries with us and having to stop to change batteries all the time. The coms system that we are using is the Cardo Packtalk Bold series and they have been great. We sometimes have a bit of editing to do with the coms sound as the voice can sometimes sound a bit unclear, this has nothing to do with the Cardo system its just how voices sometimes comes over trough any two way coms system. But glad you are enjoying it.

    Tell Cissy that if she trusts her bikes' side stand, she can mount the bike by putting her left foot on the left peg and swinging her leg over, like she would mount a horse.

      Hi guys! Haha yes she knows, the bike was just standing a little wrong to put weight on. A stupid thing with the 390 Adv is the stand is a bit to long so bike stands to straight up. But hey maybe she just needed to do some morning “bike yoga”! 🤣 but thanks for the advice! We still have loads to learn!

    Awesome stuff! Good luck with your journey.
    Any specific reason you went for the Montana instead of the Zumo XT?

    • @thetravelingtortoises
      @thetravelingtortoises  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the well wishes! Yes the Montana has much better futures and is more versatile than the Zumo XT. Also the fact that you can communicate with people when there is no cellphone reception is a big plus. The Zumo XT is a great gps but for us the Montana just makes more sense.
      I have had a couple of trips in the past where we found ourselves in areas where there where no cellphone reception or radio comms. And the Montana would have come in very handy. Lesson learned.

      @@thetravelingtortoises Thank for the detailed answer. Obviously I have quite a bit more research to do. On the fence about going Zumo XT.
      Looking forward to more videos!

    I had to laugh at the leg lift to get over the seat ! Wait till you get in your 70s like me and try and lift your leg that high.With much groaning I can just drag my leg over my 390 duke !!

    • @thetravelingtortoises
      @thetravelingtortoises  Год назад +1

      Just wait there are many of those leg lifts! But as long as you can get on the bike and ride who cares how much you groan and sqeeck!

    In the last video you stopped a gas/station, you did not fuel up. My dad taught me alway top up no matter what.

    • @thetravelingtortoises
      @thetravelingtortoises  Год назад

      Your dad is a very wise man! Problem was not that there where no fuel, there was no power "load shedding" to power the pumps. We where luckily not going too far.
