Even the “generic” ones are really nice and show off their different battling styles. Torterra slamming into the ground gives me the idea he’s using Earthquake or Frenzy Plant, something that will tear up the ground. Sceptile shows off his signature Leaf Blade. Chesnaught looks like he’s putting real power into that punch. I love the little details they put into these animations. SV really are the best in that regard.
Personally I was kinda disappointed of Treecko, Sceptile line. The blades look plasticy. It's probably the only one whose texture I personally didn't like. As it's one of my fav grass type. Also by generic I meant like punching or headbutting or ramming

finally, after all this time, high quality animations.
This is the one time a DLC is actually worth it in terms of wondering where all the dev hours went
But i think most of them were already in game game from the start with auto battle. Except for the dlc mons

Synchro machine might be one of the best features in modern pokemon. It's so silly and fun
The Paldean Starters have some extra animations with X. Was expecting to see Meowscarada' Magic tricks.

In the Anime Bayleef & Chespin had vine attack too
Should have added that instead of just headbutting.
This dlc gave me some hope for the future games, the animations and new models

Pokemon fanbase has reached a point where they are impressed by seeing more than 1 attack animation in their $60 game
Multiply it by 700+ and including certain attack move animation which are different from this. Yes, it's impressive for any game dev fan and not just pokemon.

Not gonna lie, I complained at first cause gamefreak didn't add the shiny sound effect like legends arceus in scarlet violet. But it is kinda fun, not knowing if there's a shiny around me as there's no sound queue.

They took Chesnaught's shield away 😭😭😭
He actually does use his shield in battle for some attacks(but not for Spiky Shield for some reason 😖)
And decidueye doesn’t knock an arrow when using its signature moves
torterra is big so its just generic
Torterra is understandable, though wasn't expecting Turtwig to do a flip

I really liked how Legend Arceus did the animations for physical attacks. I hope they bring that back
It's a shame we don't have some of the unique battle animations.
Chesnaught used to form a shield when using Spiky Shield, and the Decidueyes would draw their bowstrings when using Spirit Shackle/Triple Arrows, but now all of them use generic animations.
Let’s hope these carry over to the next generation.
I like 2d sprites and all, but 3d shows us way more personality through these little animations.

3d models over 2d sprites anyday, I choose the one where Bulbasaur and it's evolutions actually attack with their vines and 3d models have that animation
You can also emote them with X. Meowscarada is doing focus with its flower.
Yeah, I tried. But only gen 9 ones have some unique emote. Rest just generic like looking around or roaring. Not all but majority of them.
Also they gave Venusaur Poison Jab in this generation for Physical Poison STAB!
Chestnaught makes a lot of sense since he's a brawler and a heavy hitter

well... they did my 3 favourite starter dirty. Torterra should use its shell or tail, Sceptile should use its tail and deserves to be as agile as the cat-girl at least. And whilst Hisuian Decidueye's are great, why did they do my favourite Pokemon (Alolan Decidueye) as just any other generic bird. Bro, where are its arrows?
