  • Modak is a traditional Indian sweet dumpling, especially cherished during Ganesh Chaturthi. To prepare it, start by making the filling: sauté grated coconut in ghee with jaggery powder, cardamom powder, and dry ginger powder, cooking until it forms a thick, well-blended mixture. For the dough, bring water to a boil with ghee and a pinch of salt, then gradually add rice flour to form a soft dough. Shape the dough into small discs, place a spoonful of the coconut filling in the center, and pleat the edges to mold the dough into conical shapes. Steam the modaks for about 10-12 minutes until fully cooked. Serve the warm modaks garnished with a drizzle of ghee or kesar-infused milk for a delicious and festive treat.
