      With the right software, a game dev can add music which looks like that in an oscilloscope. You know, as an easter egg. Haven't found one yet, but it's interesting to see how it plays out.

    this is absolutely impressive, the 3d models are sharp when they need to be and then music is still great on its own, along with those mini circles that just look so cool and the absolute spectacle at 3:17, i used to think factory floor was the best mix between music and visuals, but this one may be the new king

      At your timestamp tho, there's the signature buzz of oscilloscope music. Not to say the buzz wasn't handled well, but it would be nice to not have to have a buzz when showing a complex 3d model like that.

    • @Train115
      @Train115 4 года назад +4

      I get what you're saying and all, but they arnt even models, they're literally sound waves were seeing. We're seeing what were hearing. The buzz is the thing we're seeing, if you want the buzz to not be there you gotta remove the whole part.

    • @PhoenixClank
      @PhoenixClank 4 года назад

      @@Train115 How do you think these videos are made? The 3D scenes are created and rendered in Blender, and then converted to the sound waves by a plugin made specifically for that purpose. Thus, there _are_ 3D models to be seen here.

    • @ChrisAllenMusic
      @ChrisAllenMusic  4 года назад +12

      @@nolanwestrich2602 Osci-music buzz is indeed a tricky beast to tame. Sharp, detailed 3D models have sharp edges, are discontinuous, and inherently buzzy. I'm continually working on techniques to tame the buzzy beast, and for now I press the buzz into service as electro bass or lead sound.
      One promising technique I'm exploring can be seen around 2:00 with the bulbous wire object. Nice details in that one, but far less buzzy because the mesh is actually one continuous trace of the underlying object. Another recent track, Artifact, (ruclips.net/video/4puQuhJ-JUA/видео.html) uses this technique extensively. The other approach is to reduce mesh details to silhouettes, hints of shape, or other simpler visuals to reduce the noise.
      Much work still to be done in the research labs!

    So cool!
    In the description, when you say for the vector game that never was, do you mean there was at one point a game that rendered it's audio and video like this in the works? or is the description just meant to be mysterious...
    I think a game that rendered both its audio and video linked together like this would be sick honestly.
    Edit: nvm someone said based on moon patrol for arcade/atari. Looks like it is.

    • @ChrisAllenMusic

    Мне настолько понравился жанр музыки и ваше творчество, что я купил осциллографную трубку (5ЛО38И), так-как на большой полноценный аналоговый осциллограф денег не хватает (Мне 16 лет, живу в Украине). Купил трансформатор, специальные транзисторы, которые использовались в старых советских осциллографах, благо, в СССР делали много около военной электроники, что и на наш современный рынок хватает ещё в избытке.
    И собрал я (по своей схеме, частично набратой из схем с интернета, увлекаюсь электроникой с 14-и, сейчас, правда, чуть в программирование ушёл) ... и собрал векторный монитор, или осциллограф в режиме XY. И у меня, наконец-то, удалось нарисовать вашу музыку на физическом стенде с электронной лучевой трубкой. Задание выполнено :)

    I've said it once and I'll say it again, i find your remixes more pleasant to both the ears and eyes compared to other remixes. You make such incredible scenes whilst making them sound good at the same time.
