This is such a great sport! Almost everybody can play, you don't need a bunch of expensive gear, you can play by yourself, and you get great exercise! Hiking with a purpose!
Wow! What a totally completely awesome production. Excellent videography and editing. I'm absolutely dumbfounded that there are comments disparaging the commentary. I guess I just prefer chill over over-dramatic commercial BS. So good to see Julian Korver playing again. I have a new mentor in Sarah Hokom to help me with the occasions where I go off tilt. I'll try to send y'all some money when I get a few liabilities paid off, in the mean time I'll share this with people who will really appreciate it.
That hole 8 role spit out and roll away was the most cartoonishly ridiculous roll away I've ever seen. I mean, I've seen things roll farther away of course but, the pace of that thing was cartoonish. Someone needs to put some cartoonish sound effects to that whole thing. Props to Sarah for being an adult about it and taking it like a (world) champ. I'm a fan.
Thank you for doing this. Live coverage doesn’t really favor the women’s cards even when the match is super tight. Thank you GK PRO Thank you SARAH HOKOM 1x AND JK 5x
This is an amazing sport. I suffered from chronic insomnia for years. I was hooked on powerful sleep medication. But once I found videos of frisbee golf, I found the cure. I typically only need to watch for a few minutes before I start to yawn uncontrollably and then I am out within 10 minutes. Praise god.
I've heard of this game, first time watching it. Pretty cool!! I would like more information on the color and weights of the discs and maybe why they choose them. Why they change the way they throw ,, across or with their body. Please more information by the commentators . Thank you!
...Sounds like you've never even thrown one disc in your life: thats sad. Knowing anything about disc golf at this point will still lack so much context because there's no physical frame of experiential reference for you. Your best bet would be to watch the womens Dgolf for their looks,... or the mens Dgolf for real talent. Forget learning anything.
@@VikingRaider I'm 60hrs old, we had frisbees and no never through one of these. I watched some of the dudes playing since asking a week ago and I get your point!!! Haaa
Colors are just fun. The discs are generally putters, mid ranges, fairway drivers, and drivers. Putters have the most blunt edges so not as aerodynamic but fly straighter. Drivers can go further but will fade more at the end of flight. Backhand throws spin opposite a forehand throw, right handed thrower BH fades left, FH fades right. When they talk about "turning it over", some throws are meant to turn more before they fade. It really is a fun sport and I know people who STARTED in their 60s!!! Just buy a mid or putter and go throw as many holes as you can enjoy. :)
I just randomly came up on this video and noticed this was filmed 9 mins from my house. I used to disc golf a bit in early 2000s and if this is Kensington and I’m pretty sure it is I’ve played it. It does look a lot nicer than 20 years ago so maybe it’s not the same course.
The miss on hole 4 is slightly long (where Paige landed), 5 ft farther and it's more pinched off and where cat and Kristin landed is way more difficult of an up shot. Tbh 5 ft short of where Paige landed is ideal if you're talking not already starting your way up the slope in the fairway a little bit.
Definitely not me watching this to see if I’m in it (which I am) 🤓 -also the hat Paige is wearing is the exact hat I hav in my room, she gave it to me and signed it 🤓
I've seen some truly nasty rollaways--Dave Feldberg's at DeLa a couple years back comes to mind--and suffered some but never have I seen one like poor Sarah's on hole 8. Holy bananas, that thing comes so close to defying the laws of physics but just wobbles relentlessly downhill, looked like somewhere over 100 ft.
I was thinking the same thing. But maybe she thought she can re putt with penalty? Either way I don’t think she can re putt from the same place with or without the penalty. Can anyone with better knowledge explain?
Catrina appeared to foot fault her 2nd shot on hole 3 by placing her 'planted' foot at the side of her disc on the fairway but no one called it. If it wasn't a fault it was close.
They’ve tried to make it so golfy with the asinine lift/ elevator music and the emotionally distant, horse-people commentary. I guess you can make anything into a serious sport by making it look like noone’s having fun and by partaking with a deadly earnest expression on your face.
I'm sure you could but you would likely do very poor compared to these ladies. The discs only look like toys, the designs, weights and sizes are performance specific.
Next thing you'll know, this lame sport will be an Olympic sport. The commentators are trying too hard to sound like golf announcers. We need Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink to commentate to make this interesting. SNL Women's Bowling sketches!!!
Such a fan of Tattar's game. Her balance of forehand/backhand is so refreshing to watch.

Is the money good in this sport?
@@jimb8695 Nope. Not yet. Maybe someday! Don't let that stop you from trying it out!
It's so true! Most sports have become extremely expensive I love that disc golf hasnt.
*startes at my $1000au worth of gear* aight, no big expense to get in but you can get deep 🤣
@@jimb8695 some of the better mpo players are millionaires now. We’re getting there for sure
Tattar is my favorite lady disc golfer by far. Love her style and attitude. Dope outfits too!
I was digging Hokoms commentary and attitude on the Hole 8 runaway.

Kristen Tattar might be my new favorite in FPO field.
So glad I stumbled on this video... Looks like a very fun game... Wish we had a course like this one (or even close to this one) in our area...
unfortunately its only open for a little over a month per year. and a good chunk of that is closed to casual play.
The hole 8 roll away was a great time to advertise MVP's gyro
science baby!
these women look good at what they are doing this sport needs more recognition
Name checks out.

Gyro tech ftw? Definitely a pro level response. Hope everyone had a great time up here in Michigan!
i was surprised she didn't opt to re-throw from previous lie.
I love this course! Thank you for the coverage! 😊
right......wish I could afford to just take off on a Friday and go spend a weekend at some of the courses.
When I used to play back in day it was a game for stoners. I’m amazed at how the game has evolved over the years.
Curious what "back in the day" means to you? Just curious... :)
@@CallMeJackWagon probably 80's-90's
Lol don’t be fooled. It still is. Just not near as much at tournaments.
I peeked at UDisc and saw it was competitive, don't know the ending but can't wait to watch!!!

1 present, 2 past, and 1 future!

I love the Frisbee!!
Thanks for posting this.
The disc hit chains at 37:30 and disappeared from view at 38:08.
It looked like Sarah was out taking her disc for a walk.
168,000 views. That’s incredible!
When Sarah was laughing at her own misery with that roll away, you can tell she didn't let it get to her.
Fun stuff to watch !

Omg! That roll was so funny! I’m sooo sorry!
The next time I have a roll away, I'll have to tell myself: "It wasn't as bad as Sarah Hokum's at the Great Lakes Open".
Toboggan, home of the 100ft roll-aways
Leaving a comment for the algorithm. Thanks for the great content though. Love the commentary.

I'm surprised Sarah wasn't able to shoot down that roll away. She definitely tried! Pew pew
Go Go FPO!!!
That was a pretty bad rollaway on hole 8
Great vid! but why are they playing from the short holes o_O?

38:30 I think you can only re putt from the previous lie if you go OB.
I was thinking the same thing. But maybe she thought she can re putt with penalty? Either way I don’t think she can re putt from the same place with or without the penalty. Can anyone with better knowledge explain?
You can now "abandon" your throw with a one-stroke penalty (i.e. rethow from prior lie +2). Often used at DeLaVeaga 😖
@@KN-xl6lw Interesting, do you know when that started?
You can always rethrow from your previous lie with a penalty stroke even if the disc lands in bounds
@@marcuslarsson1429 Thanks for the clarification
Hhahahah!
First time watching this sport!!! Actually to us Cricket and Football are the actual sports.
Love it
37:25 wow..
Sarah keeping her sense of humor during that disaster.
Sucks, but it's cool to hear her give commentary on it.
Why are the baskets so high?
I find this to be an interesting sport.
Juliana called it "a caricature of a rollaway" I loved it! Sorry, Sarah - what a bad beat.
Lets go
Always so hard to see Paige struggle on a hole like she does on 1.
Where is the U.P.???
Paige turning over the turn over on Hole 1
paige said it...she was the one to beat. again...
Awesome
Why do they call it a "shot"? It should be called a "throw", right?
Many terms were lovingly stolen from "ball golf". :-)
That roll away though...
I thought that roll-away disc was heading back to the car.
that disc rolled for 40 seconds after first hitting the ground.
1,000 times better than golf
They put concrete in?!? Lmao all I ever heard was that Toboggan was temporary and the park would never permit it.
These distances don't seem right. They're parking it from 462 with a pretty soft backhand? That's impressive.
Unusual seeing Kristin throwing a yellow Grace on hole 9 when her whole bag has always been white and blue
Not having a fh killed PP especially on hole 1
Luis Alemany 36:25
I had no idea this was a thing
I didn't even know this was a professional sport lol
The top pro signed a $10million 10year contract. Paige signed a great (unknown) contract too!
It keeps on going and going and going and...
Sarah's putts have so little spin they're more ballistic than flying; if she'd put even a little more spin, they'd go as far as she wants them to.
well i've seen everything now and it's called frisbee throwing
i will always call it a frisbee and not a disc
Catrina appeared to foot fault her 2nd shot on hole 3 by placing her 'planted' foot at the side of her disc on the fairway but no one called it. If it wasn't a fault it was close.
That's probably the worst roll away I've ever seen!
Frisbee golf is so serious! Sorry its still just FRISBEE GOLF!
Nice round. Would love to hear commentary by Big Germ and Uli, I was falling asleep with the ladies doing the play by play on this one.
totally agree
Damn I’m high.. 230am..
Never heard of this sport
Why am I watching this?
Juliana sounds like the girlfriend I'll never have. LoL
Different sport , never seen it before 🙂
Can Sarah only throw forehand?? Geez
Hoo no Katrina, how many times she missed 5-10 feet putt .. I think she practices only c2 putts
damit i dont wana be rude but men kid version hit better than women finale
That roll.............................................................Ugh.
How is this a commentated event LOL
Is this Monty Python??

this comment is hilarious lol thank u
Not to sound too much like a clueless dude as I watch these videos, but I find that the women are much easier on the eye than the men.
Sarah still peeing all over her cardmates with those illegal jump putts. Worst example on hole 4...
Karma hits on hole 8.
Is this a joke.
Crazy how good these players are and the commentary is just enough to make me not want to watch. So so so boring.
this sport will really pick up some attention when fake men get in on the action
I wonder if their rules allow 6' 5" lumberjacks in dresses to enter.
This is funny. It's like golf without the skill. I mean, I could compete with these women without any practice.
Would love to see you try buddy 😂 not as easy as it looks
I'm sure you could but you would likely do very poor compared to these ladies. The discs only look like toys, the designs, weights and sizes are performance specific.
Lol the skill level displayed here is amazing!
You might shoot 150 over par on this course. I’m not even joking.
You have too be kidding me! Talking like this is something. People watching? Clapping?
Worst rollaway
