Lesson ONE | 3 in 1 Crochet Hand Warmers with Marly Bird

Materials needed:
Red Heart® With Love® (7 oz/198 g; 370 yds/338 m): bit.ly/3oZ66R2
-- Contrast A Oxford (1809) 1 ball
Red Heart® With Love Stripes™ (5 oz/141 g; 223 yds/204 m): bit.ly/3oZ66R2
-- Contrast B Rainforest Stripe (1974) 1 ball
Sizes U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) and U.S. H/8 (5 mm) crochet hooks or size needed to obtain gauge. Stitch marker. Yarn needle.
SIZE: One size to fit woman’s palm 8" [20.5 cm].
GAUGE: 16 sc and 16 rows = 4" [10 cm] with smaller hook. 14 splsc and 14 rnds = 4" [10 cm] with larger hook in pat.
This project lets you choose what kind of hand warmers you'd like, either fingerless, with a removable top, or as mittens! Let us know in the comments what finishing you will be choosing. In this pattern you will practice cool stitches and sequences such as:
Scbl = Single crochet through back loop,
Splsc = Split single crochet: work sc between ‘legs’ of stitch (splitting stitch) instead of through top loops,
Sc2togspl = Draw up a loop in each of next 2 sc between ‘legs’ of stitch. Yoh and draw through all 3 loops on hook,
Scbp = Draw up a loop around post of next stitch at back of work, inserting hook from right to left. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook.
This project also uses the super soft Red Heart With Love yarn, we'd love to know what shades you would use!
