I went past Mile End station every single day during my College years. Back then in the early 80’s, East End like Mile End Road, Poplar and Isle of Dogs were not considered to be safe area. But it has changed so much since then and re-developed. With the Central line Tube station and so close to Stratford shopping Centre and the Canary Wharf, this is definitely a very attractive location to live.
