Tip: free bomb ability, ranger's Parting Gift, does not need to be used during the ult, nor does it have a timer. you can ult at the start, even without a bomb in the inventory and throw the free bomb whenever.

With how often you seem to get ranged crits on this build would be be efficient to use scrounger to have even more ammo and truly be able to spam fire the crossbow?

For ammo sustain yes, probably, although with breakpoint wizardry and RNG you may get more value out of your shots this way. Who knows!
