Unohana's voice when she said bankai was 10/10. That extended Bankai fight scene was glorious. Really showcased why Unohana was regarded as a monster in the original Gotei 13.
What you said about Ichigo is true, but also... Ichigo doesn't even know what his own soul is. He is still conflicted about that whole being a quincy thing.
In order to imprint part of his soul into a Zanpakutou, he must first know his soul. That's why Renji passed. Renji is just a soul reaper who wants to fight for his friends.
Ichigo is basically Shinigami, Hollow, Human and Quincy at the same time without even knowing it.
Lax should look into becoming a voice actor because I've seen nobody else on this platform scream the way he does lmfao

This episode was straight up emotional... It was beautiful. First half is one of the best & most emotional battles in Bleach and 2nd half is some of the most fun & cool lore I've had in Bleach. Also, one beautiful subtle thing. Unohana didn't lose to Zaraki. She purposely let herself be defeated by Kenpachi, she deactivated her Bankai so he can kill her. So poetic.

After reading this in the manga I was surprised on how emotional it made me feel while watching the show, they did AMAZING with this scene
She genuinely lost tho, and that is why it is so good.
The whole point of their lore is that Zaraki is stronger than her period, even as a kid, there is no interpretation to be made. When the melting part starts (also if it is still not clear that is a metaphor, they are not actually melting) you can see her realizing it and backing off before Zaraki dashes into her and slashes her up. That was the point where he is just genuinely a league above her so she just couldn't keep up (don't forget that she lives for "the battle" too, she wouldn't just lose intentionally).

Zaraki is technically the “real” second Kenpachi instead of being the 11th. Unohana being the “real” first Kenpachi and not being killed, shes technically been the real kenpachi this whole time. Only one Kenpachi can exist
One of my favorite chapters because it put all the "he's not that strong, he lost to Ichigo" talk to rest in the fandom.
What seemed like Kenpachi plot holes or bad writing all had an explanation.

A year late but since nobody mentioned it - Minazuki is both the name of Bankai and Shikai for Unohana. In the Shikai form it means "Eating the flesh" (which is the manta ray that eats you and heals you), in Bankai it means "End of all things" - same word, different symbols and meaning :P

Oh Estu said what he did because Ichigo isn't actually a soul reaper by race. He's a hybrid human. He simply has soul reaper & hollow powers in his soul through certain means you are about to learn about
Idk if you played Elden Ring. But Unohana is essentially Malenia except she wields Rivers of Blood and can do the same Waterfowl Dance skill. 🤣 Plus she can heal herself which Malenia's health recovers if she lands hits on you. Like if Kubo intended her to move the way she did in the episode then he made me love her more than I already did. In the manga the fight was focused more on explaining what was going on and their past and Unohana's and Kenpachi's feelings than the fight itself so a good portion was anime original.

for more context: unohana bankai is using stomach acid from her shikai where she used to heal but now she actually using it to dissolve Zaraki to his bones to hasten his death and heal him over and over again until he finally remove all his mental block on his power.

Ichigo must return to the point of origin. To the place where it all began. He must discover who he really is
Shinigamj actually acquired their zanpakuto by attending the Soul Reaper Academy. Ichigo had high spiritual power because his father was a shinigami, but he was never recognized as a true shinigami and his zanpakuto power was actually based on hollow and quincy power instead of asauchi.

Okay so my conclusion is unohanas bankai is blood acid, which will literally melt your flesh away unless unohana makes it heal u.
Correct. Most people came to this assumption because her Shikai is the opposite: stomach acid that heals you.
Although some think it strictly melts without discrimination and she has to heal herself/you with kido, and it's not a property of the Bankai itself. The Shikai and Bankai have the same name but different meanings in kanji.

Is it just me or anyone else finding it hard to watch the battles in this particular Anime? I think it's something about the colour/lighting of the fights but it's hard to see what's going on and for me it's only this anime lol.
