Fan Speed Auto V.S. Max | Acer Aspire 3 A315-41

Got this method to make fan speed at max (similar during BIOS update I think, pretty noisy) from a community user (Ryzen Mobile discord).
Starts from the beginning are Auto and start from 5:30 is maxed speed.
Download RWEverything from rweverything.com
Change the value selected (column 02, row 20) to 8 Max, and set it back to 0 for Auto (like I did in this video)
Temp decreases from approx. 83°C to 78°C (-6%) depends on what kind of test or work you do, thermal paste configuration, ambient temp and many more.
This test works on Acer Aspire 3 A315-41 and Acer Nitro AN515-41 (but already has Acer Nitro Sense to do this) BIOS V1.11
If you have a different laptop, you can try NoteBook FanControl from github.com/hir... (not all laptops are supported).
WARNING: Do it at your OWN RISK! This may reduce your fan heatsink lifespan.
From the datasheet specification, I got from Discord:
Low fan speed 2000 RPM (22 dBA noise)
High 3800 RPM (37 dBA)
Depends on the temperature.
And max 4200 RPM (40 dBA)
This laptop only has a single fan, and a small heatpipe (beefier for A315-41G.)

bro I am having one big problem on my laptop , sometimes when I play games the battery goes down even when its on charger. Please help me .
If your laptop using 25W (or higher with custom TDP) and having 45W charger it's normal and you don't have to worry.
45W is just enough for 25W with lowest brightness, nothing plugged (USB etc) wifi & bluetooth off.
Just make sure it doesn't discharge too low, my A315-41 will force low TDP output if my battery is lower than 40 even if I plug in the charger.
Take a break from the game first till battery fills good enough to finish your gameplay.

@@ShaelsStudio Decreasing TDP will lead to lower power consumption but also lower performance.
Unfortunately you can't undervolt this CPU to make it more power efficient.
So the best bet is using laptop's resources as needed.
Lower the brightness, use USB or any connector as needed (better charge phone to power socket and it's own adaptor example...), turn off wifi or simply enable airplane mode, turn off bluetooth.
Other stuff is turn off microphone and use lower sound level but doing these thing is unnecessary.

Of course fan lifetime will decrease faster but not significantly.
Spinning at lowest speed possible will always has longest lifetime such as during idle, word processing, browsing, streaming, etc.
While at maximum speed will have lowest lifetime, like during heavy rendering task, gaming, file compression, etc.
You'll only need low speed for light and high speed for heavy workload to maintain system performance and temps.
So use max fan speed if you really need it, don't use it during light workload.
Changing to best thermal paste/ cooling solution will reduce your laptop's need for high fan speed at some heavy workload, keep our laptop on flat surface or slightly lifted for better circulation under it, lower room temp will help too.

No need to max out fan speed just for browsing.
Is there any issues with running fans at max speed for long time other than noise and battery?
Fan lifetime may degrade faster but not too significant.
Just like moderate fan speed lifetime is a bit shorter than slowest speed.

Hello, could I ask you a question?
So basically my laptop (the same Acer Aspire 3 A315-41) once stopped working completely. Since I'm in a hurry I bring it to the nearest local workshop for a fix. He said the CPU was overheated (which is weird the last time I checked the temperature is normal but it's OK) and I think he managed to resurrect it by doing a reflow. However, as a precaution he cranked the fan speed to maximum so it will not overheat again.
The problem is that after some months my workmates asked it to be toned down since the noise is so damn loud (or just buy a new laptop). I tried several apps that should be able to control fan speed and didn't found one that could work for mine, until I finally found your video. I managed to locate the same number in EC, but it's actually still 00 (I was expecting it to be 09). Changing that value doesn't change anything.
So my question is, is it possible that there's another settings (or even possibly directly in the hardware) that control the fan speed?
I'm afraid they using other methods other than modifying EC (embedded controller) config shared to OS (Windows). I think finding the exact location for that in EC already difficult and could be harmful if find wrong values, I'm not the one found this in EC but from someone found and knew it and I just demonstrate how to do it here.
Maybe you could try updating BIOS (if there's latest one) and hope it resets stuff inside as it did to some stuff based on my experience, check in Acer website.
Or just bring it to Acer service center and ask em to revert it back to default (auto), and I recommend bring good thermal paste (I'm using Kryonaut, make sure it's not a fake product) and ask them to replace the stock paste as a solution for your themal problem, stock paste is pretty bad.

Been long time I'm not using this app, if I recall it correctly it only support auto and max speed. Then I tried it again recently (with latest BIOS 1.18, also AMD chipset driver FP5 or Athlon, pretty sure this from BIOS) it could fully customized from 0% (not off, its lowest up to 100% including auto). You can get the config from discord, I think I have discord link in some of my videos description.
Additionally, auto will also unlock speed limit from 65 (I believe) to 100 if you're really need it, it will try temp not go over 75 during heavy load. So during heavy work like encoding video, editing, rendering will go full speed.
Afaik, it's based on RWe but trying it won't hurt especially after reseting it to Acer center back to default if the app didn't work, after laptop is refreshed for service center, that app might help you.
Also another solution before going to service center, you can try is reset battery using small hole on back of the laptop, you can find how to in youtube "Notebooks - How to Reset an Internal Battery" by Acer Support.
@@elham7459 Thanks for contacting me again. Turned out he's changing the fan to be a custom 5V fan (from previously 3V)
Actually I tried Notebook FanControl before but I thought it doesn't have custom preset for A315-41? That said since it's a custom fan I'm not sure if I can assign a dynamic fan control again, I'm going to contact the service guy again.
How to change Vram to 1gb ?

It's BIOS dependent every laptop vendor.
Check for any BIOS update and it's update notes for VRAM.
If you use Windows, don't worry too much about VRAM, because additional 50% of total dynamically allocated for VRAM.

Use Asus pre-installed Armoury Crate software (try search it) and set it to turbo mode which gives high fan speed under load, TDP is bound to that software so modification is difficult because keep resetting to default.
@@elham7459 I know that armoury crate software and it was on turbo however now that whole page is missing I can't adjust anything there and I wasn't asking about that way but if you know of some software that is not known for everyone ..
Like some software for tweaking that can do more than turbo and that's it .
If turbo let me use full of the Apu then it lies bc never ever I have seen the CPU to go to 4.0 GHz it is going 3.7 and after a sec back to something like 1.7 or 2.8.
Really weird stuff is going on and now that whole page of armoury is missing so windows is in control I guess bc I get 4 fps sometimes in game from 2017 ghost recon wildlands..

I don't think there's a compatible fan part for that, the only I know is change small heatpipe to bigger one with same laptop but with discrete GPU version.

Kinda yes, but the fan will not turned to auto if you don't set it back to default (even for just opening BIOS).
And faster fan speed will decrease the lifespan faster (even in auto, faster fan will degrade quicker), so just use it only if necessary.
And don't touch other unknown things in the app, could be dangerous.

@@samjamei4428 could be fake alarm. Neither of my Windows Defender nor Chrome blocked it. Not even my antivirus and the app works fine till now.
Make sure you open the correct site and not downloading suspicious app from wrong site (eg from popup ads or scam site).
Just allow the download from chrome (or use download manager instead), then you can scan the downloaded file later if necessary too.
