    If you ever drive the truck again here are some tips....ive owned several isuzu npr.
    1st on the left under the steering wheel you will find the idle control knob. You were driving in warming idle this is dangerous. And can be almost impossible to come to a complete stop and stay stopped after stopping. Turn the knob counterclock wise till the motor runs quiet and stops shaking.
    2nd
    Of the right hand side of the steering wheel you will find a lever that controls the wind Shield wipers. The same lever also controls the exhaust brake. Pull that lever in towards you the same you would if you were turning your bright lights on on a multi-function lever for headlights.
    on your instrument cluster a green picture of a baffle and a sign that says exhaust brake active will light up. Driving a loaded truck with the exhaust brake off it's also pretty dangerous dude. That secondary braking system will slow you down automatically soon as your foot comes off of the gas pedal you do not have to press the brake so the vehicle is already starting to slow down. You probably noticed when you're using the gas pedal that it made a funny little clicking noise at the end just as you lifted your foot off of it that little clicking noise you heard was actually the switch that engauges the exhaust brake that you did not turn on before driving.
    3rd
    Any large diesel that has sat for more than six months needs to have its fuel filter changed the diesel will gum up inside of the filter and you will have no power to accelerate. You probably noticed the truck climbing RPMs way further than it should before making it up shift. That's because the ECU was expecting more fuel to be being pumped for the engine. Because the fuel wasn't being pumped in at the rate the injectors demanded it will trick the ECU mapping into believing that you're pulling an extremely large load or climbing a hill and hold the RPMs higher and stay at a lower speed before upshifting $20 filter and all will be well. You don't need any tools they spend right on and off by hand your diesel fuel filter is located behind the driver side Tire below the handle to flip the cab

      @mat134 2 года назад +4

      @@BRWfilms im probably late, but there isnt really anything to have wrong on these trucks, ive got an nkr myself and trust me, it has had its toll ob the construction company, but the beast never dies, the engines are ever lasting as u cam see from forums, they are pretty simple kinda like the old toyota pick ups, not many eletronic things on them just start and drive off
      overall im pretty happy with mine, had it for almost a year only needing the clutch done as ive done some thousands and it was the original clutch.
      an advice? just buy it, not too much to go wrong on them

    I was used to driving box moving trucks occasionally for work, but they were always 20ft long up a couple steps and had a hood in front of me. In safety training was advised if a deer leaps out in front of you to plow through it vs. swerving to avoid. Then I was asked to drive supplies for a charity organization, so no problem. I was assigned an Isuzu NPR cab forward truck driving Minnesota backroads at sunrise during deer season - thinking if I hit a deer crossing the road it would have landed in my lap. Felt as if I was driving inside a bay window.

      @@vikingored7469 Mine is a 2007 and just the regular NPR. It has 243k on it as I mentioned and I bought it with 242K on it. The odometer didn't even phase me when I first tried it out, as long as it worked lol! Although I've only put 1,000 miles on it since I got it, I was just aware of the durability of this engine since I use to drive these trucks. Both gas and diesel among other box trucks and cargo vans that had this family of engines in them. GM 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 8.1 are all in the same family of V8s. U-haul and Schwann alone use to use the big 8.1s in their 2 ton or 3 ton trucks. As I mentioned in another comment, I personally drove a Chevrolet Express 1 ton cargo van that had 438k miles on it the last time I drove it. It was a 2006 and the last time I drove it was in 2010. Sadly some kid that was going with the bosses daughter wrapped it around a telephone pole. This van was the best running one of the bunch and everything worked on it!!! This van did a pharmaceutical route that was 225 miles one way plus however miles it gained in town on the route itself. So at least 500 miles a day 5 days a week most weeks. Sometimes it was used on the weekends too. I think I drove it maybe 5 times on my route. I loved it every time!!! Vehicles can have very high highway miles and run excellent because it's just constant speed and not near as much stop and go traffic like in town.
