I live in hope for scaled figures that fit it. Asked Hasbro but no comment. It's genuinely a lovely car on It's own, even if it doesn't fit any figures at present.
Theyve never made an ecto that fit the figures for standard retail save for The Real Ghostbusters. If you want an Ecto that fits figures ya have to go to the bigger scale stuff that costs ridiculous amounts.
Wow such a beautiful car love the aged details to make it look old and near ruin with burn detail on the hood the cracked logos are amazing you can truly believe this car has been abandoned for years
I originally got the non burnt version. Recently, the tall art on the roof with the two red stripes broke, so I ordered a cheaper one online for the parts. It turned out it was the burnt version. I switched the damaged parts. I plan to clear up the burnt area, and color some of it with my paint pens I got for my Haslab proton pack, and clean it up to look like it could be from some time between the original, and Afterlife movie.
I would have thought it would have resembled Ecto 1-A, from Ghostbusters 2 seeing that was when we last saw it, but i guess they returned it to it's original version, unless the are retconning that version all together.
I really miss that speckle paint effect on Hasbro's toys. They used to do it on all of their Star Wars vehicles and they looked fantastic. This Ecto 1 really benefits from that effect.
Surely there are 3.75" figures in the works to fit this vehicle. And I'd be surprised if this isn't re-released with a cleaner, 'newer' re-deco as an original GB movie Ecto-1 before too long.
1:25 There's a new picture of a Ghostbusters Afterlife Funko Pop figure!!!! :D And it's a Mini Puft with matches!!!! :D So what if they start a fire?!!!!!!!! :D
The reason why it may look burnt might be revealed in the film (the trailers show that the car was normal. But we don't know what might happen after the car gets rolling).
I’ll never buy the argument that the Matty scale Ecto-1 couldn’t have made it to market; even a hollowed out shell of a vehicle would have been better than nothing!
Compared to the pictures on the box, it seems like the front grill is blackened more than it's supposed to be. Perhaps you were unlucky with the paint ap's
You can use a silver buffing compound sold in craft stores to bring up the faded chrome of the bumper and highlight the rest of the grill. It makes a world of difference. Also,Tamiya makes weathering kits that can duplicate mud and dirt on it as shown in set photographs of the actual car.
@@Votesaxon07Reviews I've seen some others posting theirs with lighter to no dark spots at all on the front. It really varies. Poor QC from Hasbro imo.
your missing a ecto 1. there is the ecto 1 from Eaglemoss collections that is Super detailed like the original ecto 1 from the first 2 movies. it has lights and sounds, also movie accurate [i have no idea if they plan to make a afterlife ecto 1].
We are getting those 5 points of articulation figures. Which were shown with this Ecto-1 at the toy fairs. They’re not to the standard of this car though.
@@Votesaxon07Reviews I meant the new 'Fright Features' GB movie figures. Although, a quick Google search looks like they are 5 inches in scale. So there is still hope. :)
*Update* I know I thought about not getting this thing as I tried to compare it to the Hotwheels Elite, however, once I learned it was only $50.00, I said "what the hell" and ordered it. Not bad for that price point. I suppose it will complement the Elite version as per the upcoming movie.
Yeah it's basically a high end kids toy than a proper Elite style collectible. I think it's genuinely great for what it is. Hopefully we get a Hot Wheels Afterlife version to go alongside the 1 and 1A models too!

You're comparing an adult collectors display model made of diecast metal with a plastic toy meant for play and plenty of handling.... Of course the Hot Wheels Elite looks better. I have a video of them both side by side...
@@Votesaxon07Reviews No. That's based off the Ghostbuster's 1 vehicle. Since I already own the Elite one, this Hasbro one is a hard sell. Especially since it's going to spend it's life inside a display case.

You can use drybrushing to bring out the details in the grille. It makes the whole car look better.
I’m so glad you mentioned that fact that the figures are not in scale with the car. For this it’s a pass for me and I very nearly bought it tonight.

Despite suffering from a spot of Déjà vu, I think it's a brilliant version of Ecto 1. Even if we haven't seen it in action yet.

I am currently building a 6” scale ecto one for my plasma series figures , hopefully I have it completed for the movies release

Sadly not, I've seen several that are just like this. Shoddy quick spraypaint job.
