PLAT CHAT IS BACK! LETS GO! As for masters my only two thoughts are KangKang is the best OP player in the world and that PRX with something can beat FNC
Now looking back onto this VOD after champs, looking at how high the expectations were from FNC is insane. They were off form in champs, they didn't look as dominant at all. Even as a FNC fan, I really did want them to win, but it was noticeable early in their short run at champs that they weren't nearly as confident or "happy" on stage. They looked stressed out of their minds, and you can't really blame them-with that many people, myself included, saying that they'll go undefeated, they'll start a dynasty, that no one can beat them; the pressure levels are though the roof. Boaster spoke about it in press, playing to win, and playing to not lose, are very very different mind sets, and that affected them massively. Of course they undoubtadely are the team with the best year in VCT history, going almost undefeated in the EMEA season and winning two out of three LANs, and reaching top 4 in champs, but I hope to see them overcome this type of pressure next season.
You never feel Sayf when Liquid are in the lead, they are nats a consistent team at all and with some of their strats they should be given a red-gard. Watching this team is soul-crashing and I jam-ponder what they could be under different management.

Idk about the no pressure attitude being lost. These guys didnt lose under the pressure of being in upper finals where they almost took it to OT on map 3. They got SO much hate all season and have a taste of victory and see they can do it vs everyone. If anything i think theyll trust their strats more and hopefully keep that fun atittude like PRX
I know you guys usually focus on the Esports side of Valorant but I'm curious what your take on the new progression system is. I absolutely don't like it to a point where I'm playing less Valorant because of it and don't logging every day anymore. After unlocking Deadlock during the event XP becomes irrelevant and useless unless you own the battlepass. Every daily / weekly XP goes into the void with no progression. Trace Esports rn for me is one that stands out insanely, they play map control like EDG, if they play less risky they could be on EDG's level.
with the deadlock recharge i think they dont have it bc it takes a clip and since they nerfed amt of ammo u have, u can run a sage deadlock and u can force them to come in through one spot on both sites or make them waste so much ammo on it, and if it recharges on kills or time u can just stop everything, she deserves a buff to her stun thing and everything else seems good, maybe could do what mimi said and make it able to be used in lineups but just good lord dont make it rechargeable, the game would be scuffed for lower elo imo
never before the tournament started did i think it was stacked. I knew it was gonna be very competitive but stacked definitely not. There were so many new teams that would be able to compete somewhat with the top but no team did I think could match FNC or Loud
Going through that segment right now and 100% agree. They haven’t brought up Boostios phenomenal performances, the fact ethan was integral to their success or how they straight up shocked us all because not everyone had them making it out of groups in Tokyo!
@@Megronamy123 They did bring up Boostios performance though? They said that both him and Jawgemo were playing better than they ever had before (while mentioning that Demon1 had a quieter performance this time around). I also don't think anyone was really shocked that they performed well either: the only reason for the low rankings initially was because Demon1 was said not to be playing, and he was their star player at the time. As soon as people found out he was going to Tokyo everyone assumed EG was going to finish at least top 4 if not top 3 (Loud and FNC were still favorites). You're right about Ethan though, but at the same time they also didn't mention Boasters amazing IGL:ing, and FNC WON the tournament. There's only so much they can fit into an episode after all.
I think it's because of the classic stuff that's happened so many times before, not just in Val but CS mainly. I mean GL went from 2nd place in Paris to getting blown out in the qualifiers of a minor tournament. I think that's why expectations are reserved for miracle runs. Because there isn't enough longevity to back them long term quite yet. That being said, this is still a pretty under appreciated take from them. I think they probably make it out of groups in Champs but then go out in like 5-6th max.

i got this old plat chat recommended and decided to give it a watch for the fun of it. How do you feel knowing you were before your time and you have been proven very right?
Idk i think the upper finals prove that finatic is not untouchable a 13-10 is not enough to prove that their a teir above. The double map ban thing crippled eg and in my opinion is horrible for interesting finals. Whos to say eg are have a fluke run or if this isnt a build up to a new world class team. I definitely think a prx with something or a slightly better eg could take finatic down.
I'm definitely looking forward to Champs, I don't think anyone thinks fnc is untouchable though. I think EG is further away than you think, but PRX with something will simply win it all
I think it's good to give the upper bracket winner an advantage in a double elim bracket and idk what other advantage you could give that wouldn't be worse (I don't think "getting to rest" counts in what I mean by advantage). Double map ban = "crippling" also kinda implies that EG didn't have a deep map pool but I feel like they did, everything except Lotus/Bind was winnable for them on paper (and they even had decent showings on both) and if they won Split we could've gone to 5 maps. As a FNC fan I was honestly pretty scared of EG Ascent and was a little surprised they didn't pick it over Split. I think EG will continue to be great if they can build more mental since it felt like a bit of a mental/experience diff on the Bind comeback, and obv PRX could definitely win
@@raezeri I think the winner of the upper finals getting an extra day is plenty enough of an advantage. EG had to play a bo5 at 12 that's pretty much all your going to be able to do in a day meaning you have nearly no prep time for your next match against a team that pro already beat you while you expose your stats over the whole map pool. Given the upper final was so close while the final was a blowout speaks to how impactful fanatics advantage was. I think if you imagine a world where a few things go different on split and eg win. EG would then be able to ban lotus and bind forcing finatic to play pearl and fracture. It's easy to imagine a world where the scoreline is reversed in Egs favour. 3-0 finals are so boring and really sap the momentum of the event. If fanatic are the best team in the world they should still win without needing an extra veto (and they probably would). I think it's just better for entertainment and competition if each team gets a ban.
The double map ban is a big advantage but fair. If eg needs fracture in order to have a chance at winning, then they don't deserve to win. 3-0 grand finals are underwhelming but this isn't a showmatch.
While id hate to discredit a team's performance I must say the "top" teams per region beside FNC massively underperformed in my opinion. I hope to see them in much better form this coming champs. FNC still look a gap ahead in every aspect.
also liquid massively disappointed me again. They won emea final yep sure. They momentum diffed fnc on the day redgar hitting his shots, soulcas playing well everything green for them. Into Tokyo making silly mistakes, redgar being too ahead of the team/overpeaking in man advantage being thrown off by simple strats it feels like lockin again but this time they atleast won the first game then bomb out.
the top teams fell off but i think the newer teams like eg and prx played at or above the level we expected from those teams, i don't think fnc played against a lower level of competition this tournament or anything
These guys are so down on DRX but to be fair, they played AMAZINGLY (at the very least top 6 level) against FUT on the final 2 maps. You could see that they actually had setups execs and real adaptation against what FUT were doing to them. The rest of their tournament tho i agree was absolutely abysmal and THE WORST valorant weve seen out of DRX
wait Something lacks big match experience on the big stage?? You don't know how big the pacific grand finals is? not only that. You're fighting not just DRX but pressure from the crowd in fact they were able to go from 2-0 to 2-3 with an epic comeback. and you keep saying he can't?.
They know how big the pacific grand finals is, pretty sure. Every region has a similar size crowd for VCT stage. It's still at least 10x crowd size increase. Edit: Apparently they used a bigger stage for the semis and finals so it was still about half the Tokyo finals capacity. I never saw the crowd tho?
@@WhiteZet1 you guys don't know what i mean. not because it's not as grand as tokyo which made the grand final in korea troublesome for PRX. but the fact that it was in Korea and against the number one team from Korea so every shout of support always goes to drx. If PRX really goes to the grand final with SOMETHING in Tokyo, at least it can be predicted that Crownd will support PRX more than Fnatic. and also he played in japan before.
Plat chat being so reluctant to give credit to the teams that defied their expectations and almost ending their live stream on the notion that Masters Tokyo was a weak tournament where most teams underperformed was such a typical plat chat behavior. My bad I should have seen that coming. 😂
I mean lets be real here, DRX and LOUD unmistakably shit the bed, and PRX was playing without their best player. It was definitely a weaker tournament than it should've been. Whether this is long-term, it doesn't matter.
No they're not wrong really. Liquid and Navi underperformed, LOUD shit the bed and DRX looked completely lost too. Coming into the event, those 4 teams (+NRG) were touted as the teams that could potentially end Fnatic's reign, and all of them shit the bed

While id hate to discredit a team's performance I must say the "top" teams per region beside FNC massively underperformed in my opinion. I hope to see them in much better form this coming champs. FNC still look a gap ahead in every aspect.
Loud crashed and burned, but PRX overperformed IMO
not only them the top 5 from lock in played poorly
also liquid massively disappointed me again. They won emea final yep sure. They momentum diffed fnc on the day redgar hitting his shots, soulcas playing well everything green for them. Into Tokyo making silly mistakes, redgar being too ahead of the team/overpeaking in man advantage being thrown off by simple strats it feels like lockin again but this time they atleast won the first game then bomb out.
the top teams fell off but i think the newer teams like eg and prx played at or above the level we expected from those teams, i don't think fnc played against a lower level of competition this tournament or anything
prx have always been good at these event come on now. they ain't new either
1000+ :)

These guys are so down on DRX but to be fair, they played AMAZINGLY (at the very least top 6 level) against FUT on the final 2 maps. You could see that they actually had setups execs and real adaptation against what FUT were doing to them. The rest of their tournament tho i agree was absolutely abysmal and THE WORST valorant weve seen out of DRX
whys balla so fried
wait Something lacks big match experience on the big stage??
You don't know how big the pacific grand finals is?
not only that.
You're fighting not just DRX but pressure from the crowd in fact they were able to go from 2-0 to 2-3 with an epic comeback.
and you keep saying he can't?.
They know how big the pacific grand finals is, pretty sure. Every region has a similar size crowd for VCT stage.
It's still at least 10x crowd size increase. Edit: Apparently they used a bigger stage for the semis and finals so it was still about half the Tokyo finals capacity. I never saw the crowd tho?
If he wasn't a Pacific player they wouldn't have said this.
Big match means playing against top teams like fnc loud etc....
sideshow is always hating on prx!
dude, waterpipes sponser xD

How hard is it to say Alfa”J”er. ITS NOT PRONOUNCED as a Y, why do they insist so much on saying it that way. Trying so hard to be “cultured” DX
Plat chat being so reluctant to give credit to the teams that defied their expectations and almost ending their live stream on the notion that Masters Tokyo was a weak tournament where most teams underperformed was such a typical plat chat behavior. My bad I should have seen that coming. 😂
PLAT chat for a reason
I mean lets be real here, DRX and LOUD unmistakably shit the bed, and PRX was playing without their best player. It was definitely a weaker tournament than it should've been. Whether this is long-term, it doesn't matter.
No they're not wrong really.
Liquid and Navi underperformed, LOUD shit the bed and DRX looked completely lost too.
Coming into the event, those 4 teams (+NRG) were touted as the teams that could potentially end Fnatic's reign, and all of them shit the bed
wtf is this sponsor
Is no on ever gonna tell Balla to clear his throat. I swear every episode this happens and it's so gross to listen to all he needs to do is clear his throat real quick bruh
Bad players making fun of pros 💀
Guys literally forgot to put EDG in top 5 though they trashed loud, Navi and T1. Their game with PRX was so close. They deserve a spot in top 5.
