    It would be a Holy Grail dream come true of mine to own a Syracusan decadrachm with the ring of dolphins. I would need to be very wealthy/lucky indeed, hence why it might as well be the Holy Grail for me to even handle one.

    Hi there. Love your channel, and discovered it as I’ve been researching a couple of ancient coins that have recently come into my possession. I’d love your opinion on where I should go to potentially sell them (auction vs. local coin shop, etc.), as all this is crazy new. Any advice (in hopes of not getting ripped off) would be very appreciated. The coins I’m researching are (from my research) a 500-400bc Athena dekadrachm with open winged owl on back, and a 300-200bc Kings of Macedonia with Poseidon on back. Thanks so much in advance.

      Athens dekadrachms usually sell for several hundred thousand dollars. They are rarely available and highly prized.
      There is almost no chance a local coin shop would have a legitimate one.

    • @chrisbotelho7212
      @chrisbotelho7212 Год назад

      There are only a handful of authentic Athenian dekadrachms that have come to light - ever. Not to say you don't have one but that is improbable as that coin along with the Eid Mar is the Holy Grail of Holy Grails among ancient coins. Get it authenticated so you know what you have.

    Wonderful video and wonderful coins! Thank you! A little question about the tetradrachm of Syracuse. The swimming creatures on the reverse…I think that it looks like one(1) dolphin and…probably a tuna or some other fish? Not two dolphins.
