From New Line Cinema comes the ninth entry in the more than $2 billion theatrical Conjuring universe, The Conjuring: Last Rites, directed by franchise veteran Michael Chaves and produced by franchise architects James Wan and Peter Safran.
The Conjuring: Last Rites delivers another thrilling chapter of the iconic Conjuring cinematic universe, based on real events. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reunite for one last case as renowned, real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in a powerful and spine-chilling addition to the global box office-breaking franchise.
Farmiga and Wilson star alongside Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy, who portray Ed and Lorraine’s daughter Judy Warren and her boyfriend, Tony Spera, as well as Steve Coulter returning as Father Gordon, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton and Shannon Kook.
Chaves directs from a screenplay by Ian Goldberg & Richard Naing and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, story by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick & James Wan, based on characters created by Chad Hayes & Carey W. Hayes.
The executive producers are Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Natalia Safran, John Rickard, Hans Ritter and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. Chaves is joined behind the camera by his creative team, including director of photography Eli Born, production designer John Frankish, editors Elliot Greenberg and Gregory Plotkin, visual effects supervisor Scott Edelstein, visual effects producer Eric Bruneau and costume designer Graham Churchyard, with casting by Rose Wicksteed and Sophie Kingston-Smith.
The music supervisor is Ian Broucek and the music is by composer Benjamin Wallfisch. New Line Cinema Presents A Safran Company / An Atomic Monster Production, The Conjuring: Last Rites. The film will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be only in theaters and IMAX® in North America on September 5, 2025, and internationally beginning 3 September 2025.

they brought haunted horror back and since its the best kind for me, I’m forever grateful!

@ Yea I saw that phase 2 thing, kinda like Marvel I guess. And honestly the movies have fallen off lately for me, so maybe switching it up even drastically is what they need to do. Loved the first couple Conjuring movies. The third did not do it for me at all.

Same franchise but they may introduce a new era this phase took place in between the 50s - 80s maybe phase 2 is in the 90s? Or eaven earlier than the 40s with a different cast. Maybe ed and Lorraine are still mentioned as Easter eggs but that’s about it. Or maybe it’s the same time setting but They tell the story of some other famous set of paranormal investigators from that time

As a huge horror fan, I seriously appreciate how The Conjuring series brings real quality back to the genre. So many horror movies these days rely on cheap jump scares or weak scripts, but this franchise consistently delivers strong storytelling, solid acting, and stunning cinematography. It’s like a modern classic in the making - chilling and beautifully made. Can’t wait for this one!
That’s because 90% of it is all fake and backroom created, the conjuring & Annabelle are based off real life happenings so more time more money and detail put into it.

i agree, my fave scene of them was when Ed was singing an Elvis song to cheer up the terrified kids and i was crying cause of Lorraine's reaction 😅😊. i love this movie franchise and they were the best pair to play the roles ❤

I still remember when the first 'The Conjuring' came out in 2013. Twelve years after I feel sad that the franchise is coming to an end.

But all good things must come to an end eventually. I pray that this movie is the scariest one out of the entire franchise and they end it with a bang.

I just love how protective Ed is of his wife. It's absolutely adorable. The Conjuring series might be hella frightening, but it's also a love story and there's always a happy ending. That is what I love the most.

OMG, I can’t believe it’s the end of an era… 😭 Saying goodbye to my favourite couple, Ed and Lorraine Warren, is so hard. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga portrayed them so well, and their performances made such a huge impact. The Conjuring has been my childhood since I was 4, and I’m not ready to let go. Please don’t end it like this! 😢❤🩹

Vera and Patrick gave everything to make these films unforgettable. I will miss her. The movie just looks so incredibly good
One of the best movie franchises of any genre. They knew how to blend thrill, suspense and hotel and make it all fun to watch.
Definitely my favorite hotel franchise right after Hilton.

Honestly, we have been blessed by this franchise! For a very long time horror movies have taken a back seat and no worthy franchises have been as good as this one. (Except maybe Insidious) They pay tributes to great horror works that have come before it while simultaneously remaining fresh and intriguing. Thank you Conjuring! Thank you Warner for keeping the horror genre ALIVE!

Some that come to mind is Lorraine walking through the house on her initial visit in the first film, also the woman entity above the dresser, the hands coming through the clothing and clapping, the rosaries/crosses turning upside down in the room in a panning shot in the second film, the exorcism scene in the third film, when Arne tells the demon inside of David to take him and it goes in him, then later when he is walking down the road and his eyes are odd and then they go to “normal” when the sheriff approaches him in the car.. also Nun and Annabelle are in the same universe and they’re full of great shots/scenes as well. In the first Annabelle when the girl runs towards the other room and then when the door slams open it’s an older crazed woman (that’s horror iconic right there!) This franchise is just INCREDIBLE!

I never imagined there will be the last Conjuring. Wilson and Farmiga are literally King and Queen of horrors.
