Caleb showed some improvement from game 1 - got the ball out faster, took some intermediate throws O line is awful. Should've taken a O lineman instead of Odunze Eberflus and Shane has to go
The double standards here are 🤯. 2 excellent years including 2 NFCC games and 1 Super Bowl and Purdy is an average QB at best. Caleb is also surrounded by an all star cast, an elite defense and looks terrible but “let’s be patient with him.” By his second game Purdy had already beaten a blitz-crazy dolphin good defense and routed the goat Tom Brady.
Colin and Nick Wright predicted Caleb on the MVP run as a rookie and the Bears as Super Bowl contenders. Caleb is overrated… he is not top 10 QB in the NFL, maybe he will improve to be top 10 but I wouldn’t bet on it. Just like everyone thinking Dak will eventually be a superbowl champion… Dak will always be Dak the big game looser.
I’m not sure it’s time to hit the panic-button just yet, but the Bears offense was trash tonight; starting with the O-line and falling-apart from there. I’m still hopeful. If they look like this in week-6, I’ll start to worry.
CJ took a 3-14 team to the divisional. With less weapons around him. I'd say concern should at least be creeping in. CJ is just plainly a better QB than Williams.
These NFL teams are so damn stupid. How isn't priority #1 when u get a franchise QB addressing the OL. We've seen what happens to the most talented of QBs when their OLs r trash. Caleb is getting killed.
The bears are not the panthers or 2022 texans..calm down...the o line is overrated...you gotta get the ball out and scheme better...brady made o lines look good same for mahomes
And yet, people forget the kind of line CJ played behind last year. They had 15 different iterations and he only had the starting 5 for 3 total games, if that. The Texans OL still isn't what it should be and I fear CJ is one missed tackle away from an injury, but he moves well in the pocket. He took 3 sacks last night but he had absolutely no time from the snap of the ball.
Some social media analysts predicted that Caleb was going to struggle and that if he wants to have a successful career she’s going to have to do some things that he has yet to prove he can consistently do. Caleb was at his best when he was improving and making plays off schedule but to succeed in the NFL he’s going to have to make misty of his money from the plays he can make on time and within the frame work of the offense with his ability to improvise and make plays off schedule as an accessory. I think Caleb is so talented that people underestimated the learning curve he’s going to have on his road to becoming a successful QB. Side note: A lot of these same people believe Michael Penix was the best QB in the draft and could be elite due to his ability to make big plays throwing the ball into tight windows within the framework of the offense and these are skills that transfer to the next level
When describing the Texans astronomical rise it reminds me of the Lions. Sure it took a little longer but from laughing stocks to one of the best is pretty awesome for both franchises.
Nobody should be making excuses for Caleb. He is a #1 pick. He was hyped up by all the talking heads and Bears fans. He's sucked 2 games in a row so far.
I'm hearing a lot of excuses for Caleb, what happened to the two throws you saw in pre-season and you said "This kid is special" that's all you needed to see. Caleb what happened to "Practice was harder than the actual game" Last season CJ had a depleted Oline (Like 3 starters hurt) to start the season and he was shredding defenses. I want Caleb to succeed, but the huge expectations these analysts put on these rookie QBs are ridiculous.
I seen most of the game. Caleb is gonna be fine. He played like a rookie his first two games in the NFL. It is what it is 🤷🏽♂️. CJ Stroud and the Texans are definitely a contender in the league. 💯
He's gonna get that after calling his punter telling him he won't be punting much this year he also said theres nothing Pat Mahomes does that he cent do…
@@jayscott7847 - Stroud is a rare QB. It's like saying that every late-round QB should be like Purdy who can come off the bench and lead his team to two Conference Championships and a Super Bowl.
The switch up across the media on Caleb is insane. It went from generational talent walking into a great situation, mahomes 2.0, outperforming CJ’s rookie season, and nick wright betting on the bears to make the Super Bowl this year to growing pains, terrible o line, and “give him time to develop”
The Bears OL is garbage but we have to speak the truth. These last two games may have been the worst two games but a #1 QB pick EVER. Caleb doesn’t have a great deep ball, his mechanics looks terrible, and his speed is nowhere near what was advertised the last two years. Think about it…… He played at USC. 95% of the guys he played against weren’t even NFL caliber guys. The best players he played against in college are the worst guys he’s playing against now. Can he turn it around? I think he can if the coaching staff can work around the OL issues and establish some quick easy throws for Celeb. Bottom line though. You definitely aren’t encouraged by his play. Most rookie qbs flash a few plays the first couple games. He doesn’t have one highlight worthy play after two weeks.
I TOLD EVERYONE BEFORE THE DRAFT bears should sign veteran QB for 1 yr like Cousins or Flacco & sit Caleb. Hire offensive minded Head coach. Upgrade OLine through draft and fix skill positions through FA. Everyone called me dumb NOW LOOK lol😂
As a Bears fan it’s easy to see the interior O-line is the problem. 7 sacks but could have been more. Can’t get the run game going, cos the line can’t block. 🐻⬇️ Big shout out to the Texans D-line who played excellent.
The whole sports media apologizing for CW and trying to justify his mediocre performance, and their own lofty predictions. "The next Patrick Mahomes" looks more like Jackson Mahomes. Rookie PM didn't get all the kid-gloves treatment, and was torched for every mistake or loss. Luckily, he just shrugged if off and proceeded to smoke the entire league.
Unless it was a 5 yard out, Caleb couldn’t hit 💩 Everyone was wondering where he was throwing the ball that last quarter. Don’t remember the last time I saw a quarter back take that big of a beating.
The thing some people have a problem with isn’t Caleb going through growing pains and trying to learn, it’s with the media who built him up ridiculously high like he was going to be Mahomes in 2018 and make it to the Super Bowl who are now making excuses for him
Caleb has 0 elite traits. At least with Jayden you can see supreme athleticism. Last year, Stroud showed supreme accuracy and ball placement. Josh Allen's elite size and arm strength were visible from Game 1.

They can't nvr find a QB that can throw or WRs that are worthy for them to be called that. Somehow The Bears always find duds! Not calling the new guys duds or anything, bcus everything and everyone is new. But they can't keep looking like this. There's not supposed to be some explosive type stuff all the time. But there are supposed to be signs of progressiveness and flahes the start of Bears offense and football!! It's getting to the point that its sucking the love and fun outta be a fan of Chicago. I'm gonna always love them And the City. But why can't they ever come out the gate just domanating and knocking stuff around on Offense, like they always do on Defense??? Like Colin said. Media and these Caleb bots on YT capping hard for this bust
Caleb showed some improvement from game 1 - got the ball out faster, took some intermediate throws
O line is awful. Should've taken a O lineman instead of Odunze
Eberflus and Shane has to go
Caleb look small out there like Johnny Manzeil used to look
Comparing caleb to mahomes is a joke
Mahomes didn’t even play his rookie year
Colin really is the mainstream media of sports broadcasting. It’s all feelings, no facts.
Williams might turn out to be a great QB, but it’s definitely not going to be this year.
Dak lit it up as a rookie...
It’s hilarious to hear the tone shift around Caleb.
I remember Caleb telling the punter on draft night “you won’t be punting much” Well that aged like fine wine
Colin is such a bad nfl analyst then reverses his entire positions and pretends like he still knows what he’s talking about
Colin admit it man you were waaaay off Caleb is horrible and you said he was generational which is a laughable take now 😂
I’m not sure it’s time to hit the panic-button just yet, but the Bears offense was trash tonight; starting with the O-line and falling-apart from there.
I’m still hopeful. If they look like this in week-6, I’ll start to worry.
Yup. Their run game is awful.
CJ took a 3-14 team to the divisional. With less weapons around him. I'd say concern should at least be creeping in. CJ is just plainly a better QB than Williams.
@@HockeyDudeJames2everyone has there own path to success mahomes wasn’t even ready to start his rookie year
Just to see how great CJ was in his rookie season 😊
Let's go
These NFL teams are so damn stupid. How isn't priority #1 when u get a franchise QB addressing the OL. We've seen what happens to the most talented of QBs when their OLs r trash. Caleb is getting killed.
The Colts lost a iconic QB Andrew Luck was like no mas. You would think franchises would learn but management fails all the time
That’s everybody vs 2 elite pass rushers tho lol. Texans lead the league in sacks through 2 games
Manning had an awful o line for 2 years and survived...
No way the qb that had 5 losses in the insanity soft pac 12 sucks when he gets to the league. How does Colin even have this job?
The Texans have an identity bc Stroud is really really good and Caleb Williams isn't
Caleb looked like David Carr these first two games..😂 Oline is about as good as first year expansion Texans 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
People need to relax it's just 2 games. I'm not gonna call nobody a bust after their first 2 games.
He's gonna get that after calling his punter telling him he won't be punting much this year he also said theres nothing Pat Mahomes does that he cent do…
It's the hype train that is the real problem here. People expect rookie QBs to be great from the start and that just isn't reality.
@@ColdRunnerGWN CJ Stroud enters the chat. Hold my beer. I did
@@jayscott7847 - Stroud is a rare QB.
Bo nix and Caleb Willam’s glazers in shambles rn
Except for Daniels, this QB rookie class is not very good. McCarty gets a pass.
Bryce Young would like a word.
You're so WRONG😂😂😂
Stroud looked like a pro QB immediately. Caleb not so much so far
Big shout out to the Texans D-line who played excellent.
Flat out if Jordan Love made the throws I saw Caleb make, Colin would be crucifying him...I know this because he did last year lol
Now is not QB fault? But when Justin field was there u all blame on him, hate, put him in the ground constantly, but now is not William fault is others
Unless it was a 5 yard out, Caleb couldn’t hit 💩 Everyone was wondering where he was throwing the ball that last quarter. Don’t remember the last time I saw a quarter back take that big of a beating.
clearly you aren't watching Kirk cousins get rocked every few games he plays
The thing some people have a problem with isn’t Caleb going through growing pains and trying to learn, it’s with the media who built him up ridiculously high like he was going to be Mahomes in 2018 and make it to the Super Bowl who are now making excuses for him
You said how good Caleb is going to the playoffs he'll Nick wright said SB😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Technically they can still do both bears are 1-1
Caleb has 0 elite traits. At least with Jayden you can see supreme athleticism. Last year, Stroud showed supreme accuracy and ball placement. Josh Allen's elite size and arm strength were visible from Game 1.
Wait but you and Nick Wrong told me before the year that it was going to be easy? Nick Wrong said this is a Super Bowl team, how are you so wrong on so many things when you talk sports for a living 😂
Dell also dropped a wide open TD
Yea bears CB Gordon did drop a pick 6 too

You aren't alone Chicago fans. We Bengals fans share the pain. We've had Burrow for years now ....STILL HAVEN'T GIVEN HIM A PROPER EFFING O-LINE!!!🤦
Everybody thought they’d be CJ Stroud coming out of the draft. It’s not easy being that young and that good early on
Colin keep doing what you do. Even your haters watch you! ❤
Cowherd scrambles better than Williams..its ridiculous how many excuses he makes for Caleb..you need to be Simone Biles level mental gymnastics to buy this crap
The Colin Cowherd Podcast, Wow, this made my day brighter! Thank you!
Chicago fan here🖐🏿. I am 41 and i have loved this Team since i was a kid in single digits. I cannot for the life of me on why the The Bears can't get a high flying, top tier offense? They have the 3rd biggest market and have the loyalist fans in the Country. How come they can never find the right HC? Right OC? Always have a top notch Defense. I'm seeing the same vanilla plays and the same QB looking to run and the same O-Line that can't hold up anything. It's getting to the point that its sucking the love and fun outta be a fan of Chicago. I'm gonna always love them And the City. But why can't they ever come out the gate just domanating and knocking stuff around on Offense, like they always do on Defense??? Like Colin said. They have always been a Defensive culture in Chicago and if they could change that Culture to an Offensive 1? Mannnnnnn! They'd super, duper lol, dangerous!!!!! If they could put together an Offense like they always put together a killer Defense. OMG!!! They would be really MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY 🐻. It kills my soul the Bears passed up Andy in 2012 and Lovie got fired that same Yr, and i was hoping🤞🏿and praying 🙏🏿, that would grab Andy! And the rest is BS from there on out😔. Eberflus nor Waldron are the 1s, O-Line is crappy and I'm hoping Caleb is the last QB. Cause since 86. The Bears have been thru 41 QBs. OCs aren't any better and that's just shameful. Poles needs to get on the ball, right now and start looking for Eberflus and Waldron's replacement, ASAP!!! Cause i know that would be on my brain as we speaking, if I'm the 🐻s GM. And it would all Offensive minded ones too. No more Defensive Head coaches. They have had soooo many and won not a dog on thing. ✌🏿💯
This is 😂😂everyone is complaining about the O.L and coaches. The same 💩 that hurt JF1 development 🤨🙄
Conveniently leaves out Jayden Daniels when talking rookie QBs. Caleb is a bust!
I agree because he knows Jayden is not struggling,
Jayden Daniels is _that_ fast lmao
We sit here as Bears fans year after year and trying to figure out what’s wrong with the offense…The two most important things are the Offensive Line and the coaching…Until the Bears have both things simultaneously they will continue to struggle…Should’ve kept Fields and invested in the line
I think the one thing that doesn’t get mentioned enough is jack easterby being fired by the Texans and how that led to their current success
Colin will never admit when he's actually wrong lmao
Caleb was the game changer. He looks like a very average team that’s doest t throw Iin The pocket
Lamar got 9 weeks 4-5 at his first start
Colin obviously has no clue what he is talking about. He sounds like the Vice President.
Who could’ve guess Kennan Allen would be hurt again (me and all smart ppl of course) lol
the problem you see is cowherd no's zero about football only what he is told by nick wright
lol....Generational talent my arse.
Talent that doesn't generate
