Chicken, brewed soy sauce, the most important ingredient is starch syrup, a little bit of sugar and oyster sauce. Wash the chicken in the container it came in. Clip off and discard the wing tip. Remove some of the fat, retaining the butt fat which aids in frying. Cut through the Achilles tendon which lifts the meat making it easier to eat for children, and it cooks faster. Heat the nonstick pan on high for 3 mins. Add the chicken skin side down, crisping the skin. No need to add oil. 3 pinches of salt. After 3 mins, lower the heat to medium and turn the chicken. Put a lid on it. 3 mins later, he leaves the fat for taste. Add ginger to reduce the gaminess. Scrape the brown bits from the pan so it doesn’t burn. Replace the lid for 15 mins while periodically stirring. He adds garlic, green onions and mixes while the fat is absorbed. Chef Ryu sprinkles a spoonful of sugar to the chicken. 3 T of soy sauce to the edge of the pan making it more flavorful. Oyster sauce 1 T then starch syrup 6 T. Set the heat to low then put a lid on it. Let it sit for 5 mins. Sprinkle sesame seeds, pair with rice. Whole process 25 mins. Among the judges were Baek Sunghyun and Bae Nuri from “The Love in Your Eyes”. (I’m enjoying this drama too.). His military service was in the Coast Guard and he cooked then. He does the cooking at home for his wife and likes to eat. They have a 2 yr and a 4 month old. There was an adorable photo of his 2 year old. Baek Sunghyun especially likes Lee Chanwon’s spicy triangle rice ball. Bae Nuri was in a drama with Solmi’s husband. Bae Nuri said she eats a lot in their drama. The lead actors will be contributing 25% of the score. Bae Nuri loves Silkworm Pupae (esp for dieting) which was prepped into a soup for the retro theme. Baek Sunghyun has nice manners, standing while Chef Lee passed the dishes. He didn’t think Lee Chanwon used the silkworm pupae juices making a separate broth. Chef Lee mentioned that it was spicy, a hangover soup or bar snack. Bae Nuri felt it wasn’t gamey. Chanwon said his dish would increase sales at convenience stores. Coincidentally their drama is based on convenience stores. Baek Sunghyun said the galbi sauce has depth like it comes from a famous old galbi restaurant. There was the option to eat it with rice and mayonnaise which the actors liked. The dish was deemed for the entire family.Solmi’s dish was a unique smoky pork and oily spicy rice cakes. Chef Lee said that they should cast Sunghyun who used up all the good comments. Chef Lee added that the rice cake with oil was both crispy on the outside and chewy inside. The last dish was Soohong’s squid belly rice bowl. Park Solmi was the episode winner.

This guys recipe is absolutely yummy. Im from the philippines and I tried to do the stir fry octopus he made in this show as well and everyone in the family love it. I'll be trying this as well.
