Pretty sure they got that from a Russian movie called "9 rota" about a group of desant conscripts and their time in Afghanistan: at the middle of the movie, when they're done with training and drive to the point they are going to be stationed on, you can see other desants wearing adidas and American sunglasses, telling them that's "contraband" they bought/siezed and one officer even got demoted for buying contraband
Balance team need a perma vacation after last update . they broke the game first now they add a div that's going to melt everything better than 56ya , witch after the GL true damage change made it actually broken.

All BMD ingame has 10HP however their paper armor is represented by being able to be damaged by HMG frontally ingame.
BMD has paper armour. Tested personally.
