@TheAxcid welcome :) about 4 years, not very long. i play the drums, so what i did was apply the kit knowledge onto the djembe. it's not trad or authentic but more for today's and worship music, just in case you're looking to learn trad stuff.
Great energy about you...and your teaching style is wonderful...gentle, easy to understand...comforting for a beginner...thank you so much for sharing yor gift of playing music.
Wow, you have a REALLY great singing voice! You also have a very interesting speaking voice, but I didn't at all expect that singing voice. I can feel your energy coming through when you sing, it's very nice. Have you ever thought of hosting a radio program? Or cutting an album for a major label? I don't know anything about Christian music, I'm not a Christian myself except in the sense that I try to live a Christ-like life and certainly see Jesus as a role model, worthy of emulation. But, I know music, and you've got what it takes. Thanks for sharing your gifts!
Steph E. Thanks Step for your feedback! This video was part of a project to help the working adults and adults with young families for their small group worship. I was in the recording business for a while, producing content for artistes and I somehow don't think I have the rigour to be one. p/s try Christ! You won't regret it :)
this is awesome! :D:D i came here trying to learn djembe for worship songs, and i go away learning a brand new approach to this song entirely! :) keep at it guys!
@awakestudentmin For this video I was only using an OH mic (AKG 414). For performance or studio you can try setting 2 mics - 1 dynamic near field and 1 condenser far field - or even have a mic at the bottom for the lows if your djembe is elevated.
Hey man, congratulations for your videos! I'm a cristian too and i play some percussion in my church in Brasil. Can you make a video teaching how to tune the djembe? Thanks!
