It is Edinburgh and these are not polar penguins. Most penguins live in temperate regions. The king penguins naturally live just south of New Zealand etc.
I am from Patagonia and we have milions of them, is sad to see how humans use them like clowns, they should not be in a stupid zoo, they should be here or somewhere else in nature, disgusting video!
The penguins are the ones that decide if they want to go out or not. If none of them wish to go out that day, the parade will be cancelled. It is a purely voluntary basis--none of the penguins are forced.

demalcolm Edinburgh zoo is more of a conservation park than an entertainment centre and as said before if the birds didn't wanna leave they're enclosure there wouldn't be a penguin parade. Edinburgh zoo has and always will be proud of its conservation work plus all the animals that are kept there cannot be introduced into the wild for 1 reason or another nor has the zoo taken any wild animal out of its home.
They should not walk amongst the people but the people should walk on a broadwalk and view penguins alongside on their own path. Philip Island, Australia has the better solution.
