Man, this is helping my HS WR’s, my oldest son who now wants to be a receiver, and…even 47-year-old me. Yep, still want to play when I retire in 14-16 years. I’ll be working on these between now & then, Lord willing. Thank you, Coach. God bless you. Praying for you, your family, & your work as well.
Summary of Drills 1. Four Cone Jab Throws (0:37) - 2 sets 4 reps - line four cones up - chop step and throw a jab over the line before each cone - fast hands, fast feet; *bring the hip over the line with the foot* - trains for convincing and effective jabs 2. Break Deceleration (1:55) - fall forward chest leading first and catch yourself in two steps - stay low; land on the balls of your feet - trains for quick deceleration and explosive change in direction 3. One Foot Cutting (3:50) - four cones in a "staircase" configuration, about 3.5 steps apart - take three steps towards the cone and explosively snap towards the next; repeat through all cones - land on the ball of the foot when cutting - turn hips and shoulders with each cut - do not "round off" your cut early - stay committed until the direction change 4. Stability Training (5:12) - 8-10 yard straight line - alternating single-leg hops over a line, pushing off the outside foot on one side and landing on the other as you move forward - focus on sticking the landing and absorbing the impact - builds leg strength, balance, and stabilizer muscles - jump as far as you can once comfortable - maximizes workout
I went to one day of pre season football for my new school and my legs started hurting after I don’t know how the coache will look at me after he might think I’m weak
Diamond shape with your hands so thumb & index fingers almost touching and catch the ball in your fingers rather than letting it bounce off your palm. Not the finger tips
Could anyone help me understand and give me tips on how to fix me having trouble keeping balance in my cleats, I just started playing football and it’s hard to keep my balance
Will Levis out of Kentucky. He may not be the best QB but he has probably perfect throwing mechanics. Don’t need to replicate him but can take some things from his game

Yo thx heaps but is it bad that I like using double move cuts instead of single leg cuts
No I don’t think that’s bad at all

I went to one day of pre season football for my new school and my legs started hurting after I don’t know how the coache will look at me after he might think I’m weak
that’s totally normal- just make sure you warm up before tomorrows practice. Totally normal tho
Hey, can you maybe make a blocking video, as a receiver my blocking currently is not very good.
If you search up “first down training wide receiver blocking” on RUclips we have some there!

Yessir- glad this could help! Appreciate you as always bro
What is the best way to catch the ball on any route for consistent catches in your opinion?
Diamond shape with your hands so thumb & index fingers almost touching and catch the ball in your fingers rather than letting it bounce off your palm. Not the finger tips
Ty man fr fr
No problem bro, hope this was able to help you!
Do you have any ankle stability, knee stability, and balance workouts?
I do not- however I will post some! Great idea and I appreciate the feedback
I have really fast feet but my accuracy with the movements are bad so I just always end up getting off balance. Any tips
Take things slow- don’t rush. I have all my guys do these drills 50% before we go full speed
@@firstdowntraining thanks I want to get better at football and your channel helps me.
is it okay if we’re like doing in it our yard and we use a line of cones?
Yessir totally fine!
I am much better at being wide receiver thank you so much
No problem bro, glad this could help! Thank you for watching
Thabks man
No problem bro hope this can help!
Hey coach what's your opinion on ladder drills?
I like them for beginners and should never be neglected when you are more advanced but shouldn’t spend a ton of time on them.
Hey, so I don’t really have any cones, is there anything I can use to replace the cones?
Can use honestly any object. Like shoes or a football or a rock etc. Cones aren’t necessary. They help but aren’t needed
What sets and reps would you recommend for these?
I just do one slow and one set fast
2 reps each set
Could anyone help me understand and give me tips on how to fix me having trouble keeping balance in my cleats, I just started playing football and it’s hard to keep my balance
Two things, 1) what kind of cleats do you have? 2) you are learning, remember it's better to fail trying
hey coach who do you think has the best throwing motion i can replicate as a beginner
Will Levis out of Kentucky. He may not be the best QB but he has probably perfect throwing mechanics. Don’t need to replicate him but can take some things from his game
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Mark 1:15
Do you land on your heel or toes when doing the last drill?
Toes for sure more like ball of the foot
Please reply to this I’m tryna link up w the route trainer god
