One thing I don’t see mentioned enough is this team has played only good teams so far every single team they have played is an over 600 team that is expected to be a playoff contender our first low quality team is going to be SF and yet here we are 500 with a lot of lower teams left on our schedule and probably the hardest schedule in baseball to start the season

They’re beating good teams without their ace and with very little offensive help. Still a cause for concern there but great to see them playing small ball and solid defense.

I was at packed Doc Gooden day and the fans were all good! Lindor isn't hitting 100 all season. Senga is coming. The core like McNeil underperformed last year and will at least mean-revert.

I am unsure about whether to trade Pete. In the end I probably trust Sterns. I think if we are out at the deadline Pete should be traded as keeping him those last few months I think has a marginal impact on resigning him but regardless of if he is traded or not I think the Mets will offer Pete a sizable contract but maybe not the highest offer on the table and it will be down to Pete if he will do what Judge did or not. If someone goes absolutely crazy on money I think Pete walks I think if no one does it is likely Pete stays (or resigns as the case may be)

Re-signing Pete would be a very dumb move. Stearns is smarter than that.

It doesn't hurt that Strider went down for the year in Atlanta......the games he starts against the Mets are usually Atlanta Ws.
Pete Alonso still should be considered for trade unless the mets make a playoff run. He isn't clutch at all. All his stats, home runs etc....are when the mets are either way up already or down and it makes zero difference. Everytime Alonso has a clutch opportunity he pops up or grounds out into a double play.
