I feel like they both have a superiority complex about themselves yet a sense of shared mortality when it comes to beings completely outta their depth. It's why they hate Rick, he's truly detached while they only mimic what they both imagine it to be like to hokd true power/be a god
Fun fact, the creators of Rick and Morty believe that the first vindicators episode was bad. I can see this is them trying to redeem that entire plot line. And it's working. Now Rick isn't the one at fault for the team being so flawed. The team was already flawed.

Flawed….more like villainous. Except ghost train. He wasnt perfect, but he definently saw what the team was becoming.
Eh, we still don’t know what Vindicators 1 was like. For all we know they used to be genuinely heroic before Rick and Morty’s influence corrupted them.
When hanging out with Rick causes less collateral damage than not hanging out with him, you know you’re a bad guy.

Weird that they're all sociopaths and don't want to hang out with Rick. Then again, he's a minimum effort sociopath and the Vindicators all seem to have some level of Homelander insecurity and obsession with public perception, aside from Alan Rails. Whereas Rick doesn't really care about the opinions of most people
Also because Rick pretty much makes them redundant, being able to take care of most of their problems single-handedly.

There’s defending people in combat and there’s just… sadistically and ruthlessly killing the aggressors. I can’t say there’s a definitive line, like give a definition, but this definitely crosses whatever it is.
They killed the people who called them for help. The other aliens were the colonizers

If anything, I admire this spin-off for fleshing them out more. In “Vindicators 3”, they felt two-dimensional, existing only to take bitter potshots at the Avengers.

These are the V-2 that they did instead of calling Rick and Morty so while Morty thinking they were need v-2 it was for 3 since the others died from their own teammate killing them, it showcase the 3 that died

Everyone's talking about how this redeems the actual episode, but how did it need redeeming? It seemed very clear cut and was an enjoyable episode.
I think it means more so to the creators. They said before that they don't exactly feel that the best was done with the original episode, so if adding to it like this is what they want to do, it would not hurt to try.
