ok, this is seriously such a game changer! cause I have this old set of alcohol markers that I would like to use up, but I just hate the chisel tip and there's only so much you can do with a bullet... this will actualy make them a pleasure to use! although, yeah reduced cost would be nice, right now they cost twice as much as their full markers (in a set)! O_O
Hullo Lindsay, wonderful video and practical as ever! I hope Ohuhu will have refills! I believe that they will be the true Copic killer! If I buy any new markers I could see me switching to the Ohuhu, Blick’s or even the current popular Sanjoki budget marker! Thank you for sharing this interesting information. Please take care, be safe and enjoy your day!
Brilliant! I have to admit that I first thought that you were going to show us how to change the actual chisel nib itself. With a tool. I don't know what I was picturing. Maybe a steel comb?🙈😂
Thank you!!! You are the best already lol but this shows you really listen to your audience and puts your channel on an even higher level for me. Keep up the awesome work.
OMG! not having nibs was what stopped me from going all in ohuhu markers sinc ei hated the idea of tossing them when they got ruined...(you can always buy ink from other brands) but i also didnt feel like purchasing the copics, i could but it didnt feel worth for me in the long run! Last time I checked was years ago and they didnt have it yet, im loving ohuhu more and more now, they seem to always listen to what artist ask for without making the price high! I hope they stay like this and not get ruined by greed
I love your MacGuyver videos (dating myself with that reference)! This one is timely: I’ve been going through markers for your class, trying to decide how to fill in gaps for my higher end brush marker collection (Blick Studio, ArtnFly gray set you recommend, and Bianyo). I really like the tiny bullet on my Arrtx Alps for coloring fine details, so I’m considering adding a few Altenew or Spectrum Noir Illustrator. If you do the chisel nib alcohol soaking experiment, can you also try a Bianyo brush nib? I have a few duplicates, mostly dark colors), and it would be great to put them in either my Arrtx Alp or a TouchCool chisel/small bullet set my kids have.
I soaked my chisel nibs and rinced out most of the color butb these were very light. I don't think you can clean a darker nib out enough unless you were going to a lighter version of that color. (Ps this is a secret but Altenew markers and alcohol refills will be 45% off on the 24th and 25th)
Thank you so much for this - I dream about changing chisel nibs to brush nibs, lol! I hope you can do a review of the new expanded Ohuhu pastel markers that just came out
@@thefrugalcrafter Oh yes, I know. I have a pair of Copic tweezers & they do look just like the Ouhu ones you show in this video! I definitely wanna get ahold of some of these nibs. 🥰 Thx & Happy Thanksgiving~
Hi Lindsay! You inspired me to not have “perfect set” syndrome and use what’s more practical/in my budget, so I’ve collected quite an oddball assortment of alcohol markers. One of the biggest benefits to having just one brand (I started with Copic - what a statement, haha) was that I could have one sheet with all my colors searched and labeled to see blending pairs, color families, etc. How do you keep your marker swatches for the markers you keep open stock/mixed? (Like the ones on the table behind you in Sat Chats). If you don’t have a swatch sheet, how do you go about selecting markers when you need a specific color?
If you know the answer...Does the large set of the Honolulu markers include all the colors that Ohuhu makes? My grandson is looking for a marker set that includes more pastel or lighter colors. If the Ohuhu 320 set includes the Ohuhu "New 43 Pastel Shades", I think these markers could be his Christmas present. He's in High School and loves to do Manga art. Thank you.
Wasn't it cooler if the small tips came by default with chisel on one end and brush on the other end ? So you can rotate it. Now I need to decide if I have to buy chisel + fine tip or brush + fine tip and I have no ideea.
Hey, I’m kinda late on this one haha, first of all thanks for all ur videos ! But I have a question, i just received a promarker (normal) skintone set, and I was wondering if I can replace the chisel nib for a brush, BUT i noticed that they lack the litlle plastic bits in the hole to maintain the nib in, and when I tried with an arrtx brush nib it was too loose. In the video u compare chisel nib size but don’t try to fit the brush in the promarker, maybe the ohuhu brush ( or graph’it since they are more available where I am ) are larger and will fit, but i searching for a confirmation before purchasing replacement nibs ! Thank u if u ever respond, keep with the good videos and I’m so sorry for my terrible English !
Sorry for the delay, I just tried an ohuhu brush nib in the chisel wnd of a promarkwr and it does work. It took about 5 minutes for the ink from the pad to fill the nib but it works great!
@@thefrugalcrafter Dont apologies haha thanks a lot for the answer ! The arrtx brush were « usable » with the promarker but was really floating in there, so im happy to know it works well with ohuhu brush nib, i was scared of being stuck with the chisel nib ! Thanks again for taking the time of testing and answering !
I am a card maker, in order to use the Honolulu B series colors. All the Honolulu colors are not available for the B series with the brush/fine nib. What do you recommend to use switch to the fine nibs?
I know Ohuhu has the Honolulu B series that has a brush tip and bullet tip, and I have the 120 Honolulu Brush and Chisel. I really want to change my chisel tips with bullet tips, and was wondering 1) Is this possible? And 2) Which brand(s) have bullet tip replacements that would fit the Ohuhu's? I don't have the money to buy the Ohuhu Honolulu B brush & bullet nib set 😞
Also I don't need/want to replace every single marker with a bullet nib, unless I'm able to find packs of cheap bullet nibs that will actually fit and end up cheaper than buying a Honolulu B or Oahu set. I really don't like how expensive Ohuhu sets have gotten since back in the day
I think the best and cheapest option would be to buy a bullet chisel set of markers. They will run 50 cents or less and then you will have fresh ink too. You can even get the ohuhu classic markers inexpensively. Bianyo is good too. Bullet nibs will be to small for the chisel opening in the markers you have.
Lindsay, a great video, as always. Just one point, though: the *main* reason for being able to change / rei-nk the markers is the hugest reason possible - environmentally, the more we can refill / change parts of what we have, the less plastic waste to mess up our already scarily messed up planet. A couple of dollars more would be well spent with our future in view - and anyone who's lived through the climate disasters of 2022 must surely be aware of this (EG France had *no* rain except a couple of thunderstorms, from May through to this week, now November 20th. Australia had the opposite - months of rain. I know you *are* aware, so I guess you just forgot to mention it. :) (I've tried to put in happy, a smiling face, but the emoj'is aren't working - again! - so :) instead.)
I was eyeing these on Amazon. I have the GraphIt line of markers, would these fit the chisel end? Most are dried out, but the rest could be better used with a brush end.
Question: I got the 120 I can't afford the 320 but I was going to get the pastels on Amazon would that be a good thing to do? I'm hoping they do sets that can added as I go along do you know?
If you look on the ohuhu website it will tell you what sets are included in other sets (then you can purchase on Amazon if you prefer) I don't think the pastels are in the 120 set tho so it would probably be an excellent choice! You could also start with the 120 and see if that's enough before adding the pastels. You might decide you don't need them.
Does anyone know if these nibs would fit into the arrtx markers? I bought a few sets just before they released the oros markers and while I don’t mind chisel tips sometimes I crave a smooth blend lol
Anyone know if these fit the Winsor Newton ProMarker?? I have the 48 set of brush markers, and would totally but the rest of the set in chisel if I could convert them!!!

One thing, I need ink.My Y 38 Honey is dry and so is the nib hopefully it's not dead do you think ohuhu has a ink color that might match that? Could have potentially interchange alcohol ink? Let me know what you think I'd be super grateful.
Their refills are not out yet. That colors is a refill I bought before they shrunk the size. You can try mixing the color you need from alcohol inks if you have any.

Hey Lindsay, I recently saw these nibs (& the Copic'y tweezers!) & wondered the same thing. Thanks so much for trying this out!🤩🤩🤩
Copic wants $8 for just the tweezers! Ohuhu gives you tweezers plus 8 nibs for $10. The tweezers are excellent quality too!

Are these interchangeable with the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers nibs, Lindsay?? So sad they don’t fix into the Copics. 😅
They will fit the old chisel. Not sure about the illustrator brush nibs.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thank you! I have the older ones with the chisel and bullet nibs. Cool!!
I hope they do the other styles of nibs too.
Also makes me wonder what other brush nibs fit into ohuhu. I wouldn't mind seeing that.
Arteza has a good price on bullet and chisel nibs.
Thank you very much!♥️.
I hope they come in bigger packs so I can transform my promarkers!

Actually I think you cannot rotate the chisel because is too wide to go in the hole 😮

Fun fact is that the nibs are really stable. You'd have to be a really really really heavy hander to need a replacement nib xD
Or you might just want to replace chisel nibs.
