The Aether mod is more than just a silly mod because it was made in 2011, around the time the game was still in Beta version 1.7

I played the Aether mod way back in 2013 I think, if it's the same one and been improved upon, it's almost like a new game itself. Worth a try.

My grandpa (one of the best Minecraft players I’ve seen) had the Aether mod and one of the highest rated rating tnt mod. So he and my late uncle explored the Aether in awe but… my uncle, decide to go craft OVER 12 STACKS IF THE MOST POWERFULL TNT AND EXPLODED THE WHOLE AETHER! It was so bad, to where my grandpa’s computer he had for over six years just permanently stopped working

At first it seems the Aether 2 mod, if I remember correctly, mostly from the armour. Although I don't know why hostile mobs aren't spawning which may be because they're on peacful.
